  2. Hi Everyone, Driving to work today and yesterday I have seen a possibly stolen and dumped red R33. Driving Freeway South, exit Anketell Road, drive to lights, and it is on the opposite side of the road (onramp to Freeway South from Anketell Road), on the verge, facing the wrong way. Red R33, FMIC, sticker on left rear quarter window, standard WA Plates. Hope this helps someone out. Pete
  3. We don't have annual RWCs is WA. We only have to take a car for inspection if yellow stickered or registration lapses. As long as your car stays registered, you never have an inspection ...ever...
  4. Hey Guys! I was thinking of painting my old 85 MQ Patrol with white Kill Rust, which I think is enamel? I have sprayed before with acrylic paint to a good finish on other vehicles, but I have never sprayed with Enamel. The reason I was going to use Enamel, is because the paint on it now is shagged, and I have done several rough touch-ups over the years with pressure pack Kill Rust - for the respray I will use my spray gun of course. So far I have rust converted all the major and minor rust spots over the body and will prime those parts prior to spraying. Has anyone every sprayed with an enamel like Kill Rust? From what I understand you thin it with turps rather than thinners, but I'm not sure how differently it sprays and dries? Any help would be appreciated...this is planned to be my Christmas shutdown project. Cheers, Pete

  6. Hi Everyone! (Please reply to this thread, PM or sms 0411 497 358 if interested - thanks!) Up for sale is my Skyline I bought from C-Red back in January / February 2003 (from memory). I originally bought this car as a daily driver and then it became my project car. Over the years I have added bits and pieces to it, with an aim of getting it tuned, and then taking it down to the drags or doing some track days etc. However, life kept me busy, and I have never managed to finish it off. Subsequently this car has never been raced or tracked in any form – just street driven at a moderate pace (not a fan of street racing, speeding etc.). It has always had the stock turbo on it, with the boost controller switched off most of the time, so it is just running a wastegate pressure of 7psi that creeps upwards due to the intake and exhaust modifications. All it really needs now is a tune and you could leave it as is, or modify it further, whatever you desire. A couple of years some fool dented my passenger door at Bunnings Carousel. I fixed this, primed it, and painted it in acrylic paint – to the best standard I could. This may either be good enough for you, or you could get the door or whole side of the car re-sprayed and blended. Besides that everything else is great for its age. The tyres on the car are worn, but I have some second handers off my brother’s XR8 in my garage that you can have if you buy the car. They have slight camber wear, but will be good to go otherwise. Details are as follows: 1994 R33 GTS25t - Blue green effect with gun metal grey lower paint. - Around 137,500 km (had around 86,000km when I bought the car nearly 10 years ago). - Oil and filter changed every 3 months regardless of distance driven. - Timing belt, water pump and idler pulley changed at 100,000 km. Engine - Apexi Super Suction Kit (Apexi Power Intake and aluminium intake piping). - Z32 air flow meter. - Greddy V-SPL front mount intercooler. - S15 480CC injectors (cleaned and flow tested prior to installation). - Greddy oil catch can high pressure side. - Secondary oil catch can low pressure side. - Greddy washer bottle. Gearbox - Heavy duty clutch (installed by C-Red – unsure of type, brand etc.). Exhaust - 3” stainless steel exhaust from turbo back (X-Force front pipe, C-Red cat back, decat in at present – have got X-Force 3” high flow cat that will also come with the car). Electronics - Apexi Power FC and hand controller. - Greddy Profec B Spec II electronic boost controller. - Apexi SAFC NEO (acting as a monitor only as Power FC has replaced it). - Apexi EL2 mechanical boost gauge (black faced). - Innovate Motorsports LC-1 wideband oxygen sensor, controller, gauge, laptop cables, software. - Greddy turbo timer. - Cyclops dual stage shock sensor and immobiliser with boot and bonnet protection. Suspension - C-Red front strut brace. - Mid-chassis brace with fire extinguisher attached. - OEM rear strut brace. - Lowered Springs Rims 17” Speedy Holotype-R with 235/45 tyres on them. Stereo - Alpine head unit. - Pioneer 6” splits. - Pioneer 6x9” 5 ways. - 2 x Pioneer 12” subs. - 2 x Sony amplifiers in custom shelf next to battery (four channel and two channel). Interior - Selected plastic trim sanded, primed, painted and clear coated colour of car. Windows - Tint-a-Car Ash Cool.
  7. Thanks everyone for the replies - I will explore all the options put forward. What I might do is start off with the Meguiars products and then branch out and try the other ones from there - that way I can directly compare how they "feel" to use and the results they produce. Thanks again once more, and apologies for the delay in replying - my computer blew in the recent Perth thunderstorms and I have just finished building a new one. Pete
  8. Hi Everyone! So I thought I would try the Meguiar's range solely to take care of my paint. I went down to Supercheap Auto and got the brochures and found them to be very confusing - so many different paint care products and all claiming to be the best! So I kinda narrowed it down to the following, although the list is still quite long...the paint on my car is in reasonably good condition, with a few minor scratches here and there, but nothing major and nothing through the clear coat. What would you recommend I use for each stage? Wash & Maintain Ultimate wash and wax Nxt generation car wash Soft Wash Gel Gold Class Car Wash Surface Prep Smoot surface quick clay kit Deep crystal pain cleaner Scratch x 2.0 Polish and Protect Color x Deep crystal wet-look Gold class wax Nxt generation tech wax 2.0 Deep crystal carnuba wax and deep crystal polish combo Ultimate liquid wax and ultimate polish combo Thanks for your advice, Pete
