  1. Guys let me share with you my observations on the operation of the 2 fuel sender units on the Nissan skyline 250GT.I pulled out the 2 sender units out of the tank and switched the ignition key to ON position.I was moving the floats on both sensors simulating different tank levels while observing the behaviour of the fuel gauge. For my experiment the dead side tank was 2 and the live tank was 1.For the sensor positions Low meant empty, Mid was half tank and High was full tank. I made the following observations If both tanks 1 & 2 sender units are set on Low, the fuel gauge will indicate empty If sensor in tank 2 is set to Low and as you move your sensor in tank 1 from Low to High the fuel gauge moves from empty to maximum half tank. If sensor in tank 2 is in Mid position to High and as you move your sensor in tank 1 from Low to High the fuel gauge moves from empty to full tank. So in conclusion there is some form of synchronization between the 2 sensors. The fuel gauge reading is a result of the synchronized positions of the dead side and live side fuel sender units.
  2. Guys does anyone have any idea as to why the Nissan skyline 250 GT has 2 fuel sender units (fuel sensors).Whats the purpose of the fuel sensor in dead side of the saddle tank. What's the part played by this sensor since there is another sensor in the live side of the tank where the pump is situated.
  3. Thanks @ sonicii for your clear explanation. Atleast I now have an idea of how the system operates. I will do my checks and give feedback. Thanks a lot.
  4. So guys what could be the problem with my fuel pump system or what sort of challenges that are usually encountered on these type of fuel systems
  5. Sorry for the late response guys but would like to thank you for your responses.V35_Paul --- Yes I am running out of fuel yet there will be fuel on the other side of the tank. The 250GT has a single line from the pump to the engine and another line from the other side tank (dead side)onto the pressure regulator as shown in pics below. Any idea as to why we have 2 level sensors one on the dead side and the other on the live side attached to the pump.
  6. Hallo guys. I have a Nissan Skyline V35 250GT. I hav seen the car has a fuel tank split into two, possibly the main tank and the reserve tank. In the main tank is the pump. My problem is fuel is getting finished in the main tank whilst there will be fuel in the reserve tank. Are they not supposed to decrease in level at the same time? How is fuel added to the main tank from the reserve? I see there is a fuel pipe from the bottom of the reserve tank to the pump filter. How does it work and what could be the problem.
  7. Nissan Skyline Steering Rack problem Hallo guys I am back again but this time with a Nissan skyline steering rack problem. There was sound coming from the front when turning the vehicle and on checking I realized that the power steering fluid had bubbles and was quite low in the reservoir.I topped up the steering fluid , suspended the front wheels then turned the steering several times lock to lock to remove any trapped air.Quite satisfied the level was no longer dropping I then tested the car. When turning the car the steering wheel sort of vibrates and on inspection of the power steering housing and cylinder assembly I saw some fluid coming out of both inner tie rod clamp boots. When I removed the clamps on the boots a lot of fluid came out. Now my question is has anyone faced this problem and is it possible to change the seals rather than the whole steering housing and cylinder assembly. One mechanic says change the whole assembly but its quite expensive. Also what could have caused these seals to give in.Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

  10. How far are you with your skyline problem.Did you get the solenoid valves
  11. Mani 124 for interest sake whats the location of the knock sensor.I also have Skyline V35 GT250 (that uses engine VQ25DD).How does it look like if you have pictures pliz.
  12. Contact me 00258842003657 I am also in Mozambique,Nampula Province.Can assist you
  13. Hallo Hallo Guys.I am so happy to let you know that the loss of power on acceleration is now over. I bought the 2 solenoid valves (shown in my last post) from Japan, fitted them and then took the car to a diagnostic machine to have the engine light cleared. The car is now perfect.I am so happy because I did a lot of research on this issue.I would like to thank you all who contributed to my topic.I would also like to thank the clubskyline.russia website for I got a lot of very helpful information from there. This loss of power on acceleration issue has been resolved.
  14. Hallo guys I am back again. Can anyone assist me with the role played by the 2 solenoid valves (attached)(one brown and the other green) found in front of a VQ25DD engine. I tested the valve terminals with a multimeter and the green one has a resistance of 30 Ohms but the brown one is open.
  15. Hallo guys.Sorry for coming back late with the feedback. The thing is I dont use the car on a daily basis since I work on a 6/2 fly in fly out in Mozambique but based in Zimbabwe. Like scotty nm35 I was also doubting failure of those coils.I have recently taken the car for scanning and Code P1130 is the one coming out now. They said its the Swirl control valve. Can anyone tell me where Swirl control valve is located on a Nissan Skyline 250GT.(or sent me pictures of its location). Are there any means of testing that valve.
  16. Definitely will do that.I have since replaced the Air flow sensor but still struggling. It really pains me because the car is so neat but not performing.
  17. Quite interesting have learnt something out of this discussion.
  18. What is a Swirl control valve and where do you find it on a 250GT Skyline VQ25 (DD) Engine.
  19. Thanks Leroy. It drives fine without rapid acceleration but looses power when going uphill.Going uphill you can even take the accelerator right down.Code P1110 is for the Intake valve timing control solenoid valves which my mechanic says are the ones with picture I attached and P1130 is the Swirl Control valve.I am an electrician by profession and to me those are just coils both giving me the same resistance of 10.2 Ohms when I measured them with a multimeter.Has anyone measured the resistance of these coils maybe might help or will have to check on another vehicle.Let me check Amayama.
  20. I am a new member and looking forward to your assistance.I have a 2004 Nissan Skyline 250 GT V6 Petrol.I imported the car from Japan in July 2013 with 60000km on the clock.I am having some acceleration and loss of power problems. You can only accelerate smoothly to a certain speed. If you want rapid acceleration by forcing the pedal down it jerks badly trying to go forward but does not increase speed Have taken the car for a scan and faulty codes P1110 and P1130 were detected. The car was then serviced, new oil, filters and the intake valve timing control solenoid valves for both banks opened for inspection. After service we tried to reset the fault but failed to clear.I have contacted Japan Nissan spares companies for the intake timing solenoid valves but they are charging me US900.00 for each cam sprocket cover and pulley kit. They dont sell the valves alone. So for the 2 will require US1800.00 besides freight and duty.Could this be the real problem and is it possible for me to get the timing valves alone.
