  1. Weekly Race 4 Real Report: April 19, 2017 Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why! Here are some great performances from last week’s Race 4 Real at Sydney Dragway. Top Holden of the Week Breaking into the 12s with a 12.83 @ 110.53 MPH, this bright yellow VX Holden Commodore definitely impressed. Top Japanese of the Week This red Datsun 1200 coupe looked anything but standard with a front mounted intercooler, wider rear tyres, roll cage and the left headlight removed for induction purposes. A more than considerable power hike from factory coupled with such a lightweight body saw this little rocket pull out some fast times. Top European of the Week Of all the things that Mercedes-Benz is good at, combining sophistication, luxury and with brutish performance is way up there. Looking classy and sounding as angry as ever, this E55 AMG ran a staggering best time of 12.16 @ 116.97 MPH. Top Rotary of the Week The FD3S Mazda RX-7 is an amazing piece of machinery, even in its standard form. This, for the most part, unmodified example managed a best run of 14.81 @ 94.33 MPH, proving just how impressive this Japanese icon is straight out of the box. Top Ford of the Week This immaculate, standard-looking XA Ford Falcon looked like something your grandpa would drive around, especially in that factory brown lick of paint. So you could imagine our surprise when it pulled out an impressive 13.14 @ 105.99 MPH on the quarter mile. Commentator’s Pick of the Week With that front mounted intercooler hanging out of its front bar, this Mazda commercial van certainly isn’t one for hiding its true capabilities. A best run of 11.85 @ 104.25 MPH had everyone wondering just what exactly was rocketing this van down the strip. Race 4 Real is on every Wednesday night at Sydney Dragway, weather permitting. Keep it safe, legal and off the streets! Gates open at 4:30PM and racing starts at 6:00PM. Check our website for T&C’s and entry information. Next Race 4 Real is this Wednesday April 26, 2017. 3. Weekly Race 4 Real Report: April 12, 2017 Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why! Here are some great performances from last week’s Race 4 Real at Sydney Dragway. Top Holden of the Week This immaculate HQ Holden GTS was original as they come and definitely snapped a few necks with both its aggressive looks and beastly V8 roar. This HQ GTS ran a best time of 15.50 @ 85.93 MPH. Top Japanese of the Week One of the most iconic cars to come out of the Land of the Rising Sun, the Datsun 260Z is a legend no matter how you look at it. This 260Z was decked out for the track and managed a best time of 13.11 @ 104.78 MPH with the help of those sticky semi-slicks. Top European of the Week It’s safe to say that straight-line speed isn’t exactly the first thing that comes to mind when talking about the classic Mini. This blue example, however, was far from standard, managing an impressive best run of 15.60 @ 84.32 MPH. Top Ford of the Week The Shelby GT500 is definitely a rare sight down here on our side of the planet. Looking as mean as ever, this GT500 rocketed down the quarter mile to a best time of 13.18 @ 111.88 MPH. Commentators Pick of the Week As you can probably tell, there was a bit of a classic theme going on here at last week’s R4R event. We’re pretty familiar with this humble little Volkswagen Beetle and it certainly impressed, running a best time of 14.06 @ 91.86 MPH. Race 4 Real is on every Wednesday night at Sydney Dragway, weather permitting. Keep it safe, legal and off the streets! Gates open at 4:30PM and racing starts at 6:00PM. 6. Weekly Race 4 Real Report: March 29, 2017 Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why! Here are some great performances from last week’s Race 4 Real at Sydney Dragway. Top Holden of the Week If Mad Max were a Holden man, this is what he’d drive. This beast cracked the 12s, running a best time of 12.02 @ 110.76 MPH. Is there anything more menacing than a matte black HQ Holden with enormous amounts of muscle under the bonnet? Top Japanese of the Week The A70 Toyota Supra may not be as popular as its younger brother, but the more angular iteration of the iconic Supra name certainly has its own cult following. This clean example managed a best run of 13.30 @ 115.77 MPH. Top Rotary of the Week Red makes you go fast, right? This may very well be the case with this FD RX7, managing an impressive best time of 13.52 @ 105.39 MPH. Top European of the Week There’s no denying that Porsche is in the business of building fast cars. They’re so serious about this in fact, that even their SUVs are a force to be reckoned with. Take this Cayenne Turbo for example; running a best time of 14.23 @ 99.55 MPH. Top Ford of the Week Cracking the 11s with a best run of 11.36 @ 118.79 MPH, this Ford Cortina is an absolute weapon. Those wide rear tyres and air cleaner poking out of the bonnet show that this Cortina means business. Commentator’s Pick of the Week American muscle at its absolute finest. Not every day do you see a ‘68 Chevy Camaro here in Australia and especially one as clean as this. This beauty roared down the quarter mile to a best time of 13.07 @ 105.78 MPH. Race 4 Real is on every Wednesday night at Sydney Dragway, weather permitting. Keep it safe, legal and off the streets! Gates open at 4:30PM and racing starts at 6:00PM. 11. Weekly Race 4 Real Report: February 22, 2017 Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why! Here are some great performances from last week’s Race 4 Real at Sydney Dragway. Top Holden of the Week There’s no arguing that the HQ Holden Kingswood is an Aussie icon and a valuable piece of Australian motoring history. With Holden ceasing to exist very soon, it was great to see this blast from the past strutting its stuff here at Sydney Dragway and running an impressive best time of 12.99 @ 111.65 MPH. Top Japanese of the Week Not every day do you see an R33 Skyline GT-R rocking one of its most desirable paint options, Midnight Purple. This beautiful example managed a best run of 11.91 @ 76.84, but with those plates we’re sure that its capable of much quicker times. Top Bike of the Week It was great to see some two-wheeled action at Race 4 Real. This black and gold Suzuki GSXR1000 broke into the 10s with a best run of 10.16 @ 133.38 MPH, giving the cars a run for their money. Top European of the Week German muscle at its absolute finest, the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG is the perfect combination of European refinement and brutal tyre-shredding performance. This stunning C63 AMG Edition 507 ran a best time of 12.26 @ 117.09 MPH. Top Ford of the Week Managing a best run in the 11s with a 11.32 @ 133.16 MPH, this FG Falcon XR6 was a force to be reckoned with. Commentators Pick of the Week The barebones, no-nonsense Caterham 7 is arguably the ultimate weekend track-day weapon and very rarely seen here on Australian soil. Due in no small part to its ultra-lightweight body, this silver example was piloted to a best time of 12.00 @ 115.79 MPH. Race 4 Real is on every Wednesday night at Sydney Dragway, weather permitting. Keep it safe, legal and off the streets! Gates open at 4:30PM and racing starts at 6:00PM. Weekly Race 4 Real Report: February 15, 2017 Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why! Here are some great performances from last week’s Race 4 Real at Sydney Dragway. Top Holden of the Week This tough LX Torana SS hatch was a sight to behold with those fat rear tyres, air cleaner poking out of the bonnet and of course, that bright blue paintjob. Managing a best run of 11.01 @ 127.86 MPH, this mighty Torana meant business. Top Japanese of the Week Despite being overshadowed by its curvier younger brother, the MK3 Toyota Supra possess just about as much potential. This clean, white example proved exactly that with an impressive best run of 10.24 @ 139.24 MPH. Top Rotary of the Week The first-gen RX7 captured hearts the world over, introducing many enthusiasts to the joys of rotary performance in a lightweight, nimble chassis. Top Ford of the Week The MK1 Ford Escort marks the beginning of a long lineage of fast Fords, developing a well-deserved cult following. This black beauty showed up at Sydney Dragway looking immaculate and ran some impressive times to match. Commentators Pick of the Week The 180B isn’t a particularly common platform for Datsun modification like the 510 or the S30. This made it a pleasant surprise to see this blue example turn up and run a best time of 13.61 @ 108.42 MPH. Race 4 Real is on every Wednesday night at Sydney Dragway, weather permitting.
