  1. Haha sell my house, turbo up and live a life on the streets of high octane as a drifter. And vagrant. Sweet ride though mate, compelling argument haha
  2. hahaha subtle. I tossed up a lot of decisions before I made the purchase, to turbo, to kit out, to manual. Inept girlfriends, high interest mortgages and premo insurance companies have tied me by the short and curlies. Sometimes we don't get what we want :~(
  3. They released these a few days after I finally bought my plates. Cry.
  4. So I introduced myself a little while ago, finally have gotten around to putting up a small build thread. Bit of background on le history von Nissan. I have passionately lived and breathed two more or less identical 31 white over grey silos over the last decade and sadly let go of the 80's in 2015 and bought myself a 2003 Black on Black on Black V35 Skyline. Life, finances and old age have generally beaten me into a withered crabapple and I won't be looking to turn this machine into a lava pouring box of hellfire. Am quite content into chucking on the fine and few standard cosmetics and cruising at a medium pace. Needless to say, this thing was clean as, I am poor, hence there won't be much on the list. For giggles, I've attached one of my original "lists" for the second r31 which I had from the 22nd of March 2008 till sometime in May 2015. Moving on. This was as is on pick up day. Since buying, I've managed to: - Customize a fascia/install a double din head unit This was a bigger dick around than I had anticipated. I was fortunate enough to cross paths with Ally (Xtrem Installs) working out at JB in Knox. Guy is a godsend. Extremely approachable, will go above and beyond to get the job done. I had remembered him from years back, he'd f**ked around with something on my EA. Somehow got referred to him and he saved my ass. Initially installed an Alpine, always been a big fan of their usability/interface, xept their latest model touch screen is a piece of ass. Like many of their models, non-iAnything friendly, to the point where tracks would not play sequentially. Period. Hit them up with the issue, Ally moved sun and soil to get it ripped out and replaced with a Pioneer which is currently sitting pretty. I'll try get a decent picture of it at some point. But here's the smash out lol Thing was like a ball of rubber bands. TV unit and the rest of the crap sitting under the dash was duct taped like a rape victim. Horrendous. - Gave the glass a tan On the word of a few blokes I work with and Ally the Great, I hit up Brett at V.I.P. Tinting up in the Gully. Again, Brett is another great bloke. Friendly, will custom your shades to whatever you want and has a great eye for matching tones up. Cheap and 100% accountable for warranties. - Took the headlights to the dentish Everything new, everything clean. The toothpaste/rag on a stick do'ey really does work. Using a dry rag to apply toothpaste to the plastic, scrubbing the shit out of it and then wiping it clean with another wet rag, you can take the "yellow" layer off easily. I'll hit it again soon. -Things to do- - Changing the front side indicators to black. Have ordered and awaiting delivery. Something about black on black on black is getting really appealing. I had custom laser cut perspex front indicators and beamer sides on my r31s. - Springs Currently looking into a legal but sleek option for springs. Reading the 370 kings fit straight on and reduce the height by about an inch? Not looking to go super low but low enough. Loving how its handling so far. Any suggestions, bring em forward. - Removing the excess licence plate holder lol. I have beer to drink. Thank you to: Denis and the crew at Global Vehicles in Fawkner, easy purchase, no hassles, all questions and issues addressed and sorted. I suggest Jap import lovers suss out their cars online, lots of tidy rides. Ally of Xtrem Installs up at Knox. Seriously knows his car electronics. Will bleed from the eyes before he's beaten by an install issue. Brett at V.I.P. Tinting up in the Gully. Professional all round nice guy. See you guys on the road \m/
  5. Sorry mate, notifications are a bit of a crank setup on my end. Yep, I've got the car and have wasted bugger all time getting it sorted out I should start a build thread, haven't considered the membership as yet. I a) am broke and b) generally work weekends/public holidays etc when most club events occur. If I find I'm getting active again on ye olde forums I'll probably throw a few coins this way but for now, I'm generally off the radar >< Thanks for the heads up
  6. cheers for that, confirming Jason is still doing installs. Next on the list for the girl.
  7. stupid question maybe, is there anyone in melbourne that's doing the conversions to english for the v35?
  8. G'day all, just introducing myself. Your average Melbournian, over the last decade I've owned and loved two identical 89 silos and recently said goodbye to the second love Some heads may remember me from the 31 mob (Tha_D). The call of the skyline is just too strong, so after 10 years of owning two white over grey babes back to back and much deliberation, I'm now in the process of picking up a bathing black beauty, V35 in a week or so and figured it'd be a good idea to get involved again in the aussie nissan community. I've never owned this model car before and could use all the tips I can get, will probably take a sickie over the next week once I pick her up and get familiar with this forum as its been a few years since I was active. Currently pouring over the usual start up shit with this car, fascia replacement, dropping her an inch etc so anyone with a few lead ins for me, will be greatly appreciated. Always valued being part of the 31 scene and the extended skyline scene, met a lot of cool cats over the years, was part of heaps of events and will slowly try to get back into it. Kind of hard these days, taken a big backseat as life starts hurling other priorities at ya. Anyway, I'll update this profile once things start to firm up but yeah, see you round the traps. - D
