  1. Hey all, Car is currently at the mechanics. Initially it would go into limp mode at about 2.5k revs and come out with throttle body/peddle sensor fault code. Took it to a mechanic, they replaced the pedal sensor and that fixed the limp mode issue, however, now it misfires when accelerating the car quickly. It runs perfect without issues at high speed or revs when accelerating at a slow/moderate pace. Misfire/rev jumping only occurs when essentially trying to accelerate quickly. I've taken the car to 3 mechanics and this is finally the first one to have made some progress. He's advised that at this point, it essentially becomes a process of elimination issue, recommending spark plugs to be replaced first ($270.60 supplied and fitted), then ignition coils ($929.50 S/F), Swirl Control Valves ($572 S/F) then if none of the above fix it, the actuator (price TBA). Fault code showing P1130 Swirl Control Solenoid Valve, so wondering if this should be tackled first? Mechanic has been very helpful and knows his stuff, just wondering if anyone has encountered similar issues or could give some recommendations? Looking to fix and sell the car ASAP though not just hesitant on spending $2,000+ on replacing parts which may not guarantee it will fix the issue... I've uploaded a video of what exactly the engine does and just attached a snippet of my mechanics report so far.
  2. I followed the test on that for my original throttle body, and noticed I wasn't getting any readings when doing the tests connecting Red to D - Black to E and also Red to A - Black to B. I will do this test tomorrow or over the weekend when I have time with the 2nd hand replacement I got and see if I get a reading my the MM or not. Athough they're not the exact same type of TB, I'm assuming that they should atleast show some sort of reading as well. The initial test of Red to C and Black to E showed 1.45 which is within the suggested parameter.
  3. So I recently bought an ODB-II code reader, plugged it in and seen the fault code coming up is P0121. I can clear it through the reader app, but yeah it just constantly comes back up.
  4. I've tried many times doing the procedure you showed and other variations for the ECU reset and throttle body relearn procedure. However, not once have I got the engine light (my car just has the old school engine light in yellow, no writing with it) to flicker when doing the ECU reset or have the throttle body make a sound when doing the relearn procedure. Sometimes when I turn my car on, the engine light isn't on. Car drives fine for about a second or 2 then it goes into limp mode and the check engine light comes on 100% of the time. When I leave it in park and rev it (before engine light comes on without driving), I can hear a clicking sound around 2.5k-3k revs happen a few times, the revs drop down when it happens. Rev the engine again then boom, limp mode and engine light comes on. Unfortunately I didn't get the codes from the mechanics when I took it in, however I'll call up and see if they possibly remember. I just remember them saying the ECU codes say it was the throttle body and pedal sensor. Ive tried probably 20-30 times however haven't succeeded once in either ECU reset or throttle body relearn procedures and I've tried it with a stopwatch within milliseconds of error.
  5. For the life of me, I've attempted every single procedure I've found online, in every variation multiple times but have had no luck. Yesterday I disconnected the negative terminal from my battery, pumped the brakes and left it over night as advised by other which can reset the ECU. Hopefully when I get home from work today, the ECU reset is successful.
  6. Unfortunately it does not have a cruise control feature. I'm at my wits end trying to figure out what else it could possibly be.
  7. Hi all, I own a 2004 Skyline V35 300 GT. The engine light came on recently, took it to the mechanics and the ECU said the throttle body & pedal sensor were having problems. Got them both replaced (2nd hand parts), problem persisted and unfortunately mechanic wasn't sure how to resolve this so recommended me to a more experienced mechanic. Took it to mechanic B, they inspected all the wiring and electricals and found nothing faulty. They couldn't figure out what's wrong, except suggest possibly replacing those parts with brand new ones however unfortunately to get them brand new will cost upwards of $1,600 and possibly 2-3 month delivery from Japan. That isn't really an option I'm willing to take since it's not even a guarantee that would fix it. After doing research online, I've seen that the ECU needs to relearn the throttle body and idle. I've attempted to do the tests MANY times, multiple variations, however I am not having luck in succeeding. It says that all electricals must be unplugged for it to work, however my car comes with the GPS DVD thingy which draws power when turning the power on (not engine). Is there something that I could be missing in regards to reset the ECU and have it relearn the peddle/throttle? Essentially the car just struggles to get power, sometimes changes gears correctly or changes them at approximately 5-6k+ revs, or suddenly draws a lot of power out of nowhere.
  8. Hey all, So I'm looking to get my front and rear brake pads changed. I have purchased a set of Bendix Ultra Premium Disc Brakes - DB1509UP (from supercheapauto as they were suggested), but they only had 2 in stock. I've not been able to find much information on whether or not my 2004 Skyline 300GT V35 Sedan uses the same size front or rear brake pads other than 1 forum post saying they're almost identical in size with the exception of about 2mm. My questions are... Is there a different size of brake pads I need for the front and rear? Can i use my premium pads for the front and maybe a cheaper brand for the back (assuming same size)? Considering there was a discount however that went away the day after I bought the 2 in stock. Or should I get the same brand for all 4? Would it be fine if I return those brakes and buy a cheaper set? I'm a calm driver and don't drive too often, so if I could save a bit without it being integral to its performance than that would be nice. Thanks.
  9. It doesn't always do this. I would say every 4th time I turn the car on this happens, and when it does happen I just restart the car and it fixes it immediately. And yeah it was a private sale. To clear any misunderstanding, it doesnt stay at 60kmph, I can travel at any speed, just that I'm unsure what gear it is and when I am traveling 60kmph it is on 3,000 revs. It just seems to be stuck in one gear unable to change when this happens.
  10. Hey all, recently my 2004 V35 Skyline 300GT has been having an odd problem. It occurs randomly, but sometimes when I start my car, the transmission would be stuck on one gear no matter how fast or slow I go in attempt to have the gear changed. Other times the transmission would work perfectly on start up. However, when it is stuck on one gear, i'm assuming it is stuck on most likely 1st gear or 2nd gear since it idles at 3-3,500 revs when travelling 60 km/h. Putting it in tiptronic mode and changing gears doesn't make a difference since the gear won't change, although on the dashboard it would show it is changing gears when it obviously isn't. Whenever this happens, I usually have to pull over on the side of the road and restart the car which has always fixed the problem so far. (This has happened about 4-5 times in this past week) I am wondering, has this problem occurred with anyone else? I purchased this vehicle a week ago, and if there are major problems with the gear box then I will be taking it back to the seller to raise issues. I'm hoping that a simple transmission fluid replacement will fix the problem, as I assume that when restarting the car fixes the problem because it pumps the fluid back into the transmission. Thanks heaps for any help!
  11. Hey there mate, I was reading up on some really old forums and saw a few of your posts saying you can help set up the FM radio converters. I recently purchased a Skyline 300GT and would like to know if you could help with my queries, as I would like to be able to listen to Melbourne radio stations! Thanks!

  12. Hey all, today I just bought a Nissan Skyline V35 300Gt! The computer is all in Japanese and I would like to convert it to English! I have tried to play around with it and use my luck, but I am failing. It would also be very appreciated if someone could give me a rough translation of the console buttons as well! Thanks heaps! I have attached several photos which may hopefully assist with my inquiries! Thanks
