  1. Yeah, that's me. Mostly save it for the weekends, but drive it to work here and there. Not getting rid of it, just planning more hectic road trips ;^D
  2. My apologies everyone. I heard a noise at Pennant hills - it was my muffler dragging on the road. What an awesome time for a bracket mount to snap ? I sacrificed my shoelaces to limp off home...? I was looking forward to making some contacts - next time!

  4. Please add me to the list. This looks to be an ideal afternoon for joining up and becoming a member.
  5. Bump! RB25DET r33 gtst Failure: heat related misfire History: had the car a month, never pedal to the metal, but occasional appropriate usage. However, car was set up for drifting, nistune ecu and breathing gear on stock donk & snail at 18psi. What happened: immediate loss of most power and noise - thought I'd blown a ring. Pulled over within 25 metres, wasn't speeding or putting any real demands on engine during routine daily commute. Problem identified as heat related by mechanics, who then blew turbo after sparks & coilpacks were replaced. Problem unsolved! ***************** Failure: blown stock turbo History: please see above What happened: while checking for misfire re-occurance, mechanics blew up snail. Blamed vehicles probable history as sole reason for fault, but may not have checked boost pressure and used appropriatly, or been watching gauges. ****************** Failure: engine failure on dyno History: car put in care of larger performance workshop, and full recent history explained in writing. After new turbo installed, they think best way forward is dynotest. Heat related misfire occurs again (duh) and under load blows engine, specifics unexplained. What happened: it's been reported that a teesy little noise was noticed just in time to get off the throttle, saving engine from total destruction. I decide on a full engine rebuild using better than stock parts, to solve issues for forseeable future Bloody skylines huh? Maybe should have stuck with my old 1980 bluebird ?

  7. I'm no mechanic (nor autoelectrician), but this sounds like bad news. The symptoms may indicate a wiring or electrical insulation fault, your current isn't strong enough when it hits the sparks to give consistent igniton? Had the same issue. Losing some insulation can mean that your battery charge leaks out too, leading to your battery problems. I've had similar issues in the past. If you have a decent autoelectrician amongst your contacts, it's time for a visit. This issue is often one they hate, as locating the source of the leak can often be troublesome.
  8. First car I remember sitting in was a datto 1600. The old man loved throwing it through Maquarie Pass back in the mid to late seventies. I've loved being in a well balanced car ever since... Moved from a mx6 to a wrxie, and now my r33 gtst makes almost 400hpw COZ I JUST CAN'T STOP HELP!!1! It was already maaad when I bought it, last fella did exhaust, drift suspension, ecu upgrade and great paint. A full engine rebuild with performance parts to support future upgrades, new snail, heavy clutch, rubber and brembos have been added in the 4 months I've had it. Skyline Spares on speed dial. Still don't know a bloody thing really. Except that I like it ? and further modding is a deadset certainty. Rb30 bottom end? Real big snail, or sexy as f*k TT pipes everywhere? Onboard pc to stream dashcams to, and run ecu remaps on track day? Sunroof and a custom interior? And it still doesn't have a name that's stuck yet, whats up with that? We can't keep calling it 'Darth Sideways'! I'm sure many of you will have opinions. Unlike my opinions, they may even be born from knowledge and experience! Look 4ward to the journey...cos I'm driving ? Pics if mobile users can...matt black, immaculate lines...look forward to joining the community and cruising. Hi! ?
