  4. sky031, i don't see what's so disturbing about being a mechanic and not knowing what parts are interchangeable or knowing how much work is involved in an engine transplant. i work for peugeot and as such we don't tend to get much nissan work through the shop so my knowledge on part interchangeability between nissans is not that thorough, hence my asking people who may have done this conversion. nor have we had any customers booking in there 206's for an rb20/25/26 conversion so i'm a bit lacking in that department too. sorry. but thanks for your reply. why the rb20? i wouldn't mind something a bit revvy for a change, and my current engine's a bit shagged as it is so i don't really want to turbo it. b2barker, nice thought, do you want to send me some cash? thanks guys
  5. hey guys, just after a few thoughts. i've got a 88 r31 silhouette series 3. i want a bit of an upgrade as i want to start drifting. now here's what ive been thinking. A: fit an rb20det and r32 g/box from a front cut to my car. will the brakes go on to the r31? is it worth getting the front cut or should i just get the engine g/box and loom. i'm a mechanic so i can do most of the work myself. will it be pretty staight forward? what would be the best option for the diff? i'd prefer the r32 engine over the r31 imports, because of the higher power rating. or B: just go out and buy an r32 gts-t. i know the latter is a hell of alot easier, but i want something a bit different. i think in the end it will probably work out about the same cost. do you reckon the r31 would make a good drifter. at least panels would be pretty cheap when i bend it. hey its inevitable. may aswell think ahead!! thanks in advance stew
