My husband bought a cheap unregistered car with no RWC as well from a local bloke. We realised he took off the old number plate & promised to surrender in to the transport dept the next day. So, we bought it & send the car to a workshop for inspection etc. To our surprise, he didn't do so after 3 weeks of purchase when we try to register it yesterday plus the car owner indeed was his partner. Contacted him but to no avail. Adding to our misery, the receipt issued to us was signed by him not his partner the legal owner. Really frustrating & regretting for taking the high risk of cheap car. Any input will be very much appreciated. Thanks
