  1. Hi PranK nice work with the new forums. just a quick one - i can't figure out how to set up the auto-subscription to threads that I have posted in... can you point me in the right direction / point out if the feature is available? cheers, marcus
  2. actually you'll find a mild steel / stainless steel exhaust will weigh in the region of 20+ kilos, whereas a titanium system will be in the region of 8 - 10...
  3. Jap Performance's reply to SK: Sydneykid - on a completely stock std vehicle there will not be any benefit and more than likely loose power, the reason should be pretty simple. ...is the simple answer is that they are no good? seems like an empty response that doesn't answer any questions, to me...
  4. traded my 200rwkw GTS-t R33 for an R32 GTR... they're expensive, but haven't looked back although having just seen your pics it looks HOT
  5. i don't mind it... you guys... change averse!
  6. welds don't look that nice...
  7. 32GTRs with 34GTR wheels are horn
  8. I have my Aus ECU if anyone wants / can get in and have a look at maps
  9. I'm guessing it looks just like a STOCK silver 99 S2000 - and I'm guessing the pics look just like that too. Free bump!
  10. I thought that the thermostat doesn't open until it reaches operating water temp. Therefore there would be no effect on warming up? I could be wong...
  11. off topic - bigblueR32 - is that yours? show us some pics
  12. Mate, all the best for the surgery and recovery. Wanna lend me teh purple car in the meantime?
  13. is this the same kid who was getting a VW Golf R32?
  14. Used to be a store on High st Glen Iris with a rotating name, run by asians. Was consistently 10 - 15% cheaper than anywhere else, and looked after us too Funny thing is after about 8 years they vanished!
  15. No offence, but I don't know who's stupider... your dad for giving you a GTR at 16 or you for accepting it... for numerous reasons, two of which spring to mind are: 1. doesn't he like you and wants you to write yourself off at 18 - don't be a statistic 2. has your family more money than sense? get a $hitter and learn to drive first. Why don't you get a Golf R32...?
  16. Are you running std turbos? I'm running the factory ones at 1 Bar - I think the ball bearing turbos run cooler. Also, you're right if I get the water temps under control then the oil temps fall off too (and vice versa). I'm pretty sure the readings are right, as i've got defi gauges for pressure, oil temp and water temp. However, the readings are temps as they exit the engine - the top hose for the rad, and in the remote oil filter block before the cooler. It would be nice to have a reading after the oil cooler and at the bottom rad hose to see what temps the engine actually sees. Another thing I was thinking was that the engine is running a bit lean, but then the A/F ratios are good at bang on 12:1 Therefore, my conclusions are: 1. the oil cooler is poorly placed 2. the rad is either partially blocked or can't cope with the heat - going to go for a 43mm one anyway
  17. The cooler is in the duct in the front bar passenger side. It is poorly placed, so we're going to go at the bar with a dremel... might also put in an exit duct in the side of the front bar ala Nismo style
  18. my GTR with oil cooler hit 105 water temp at the track on a 35degree day... fatter radiator methinks Also, gordo - while the rubber lip might make a small difference, the only thing affecting the rad cap from opening is the spring - higher spring force, higher pressure to open so all the aftermarket 'high pressure' caps have are a stiffer spring... much like an aftermarket wastegate actuator
  19. like ecl said, there are already SO many "are GTSTGRTIs better than STWRXTRR-SpecS" threads. Make a decision based on what you want, not what everyone else thinks- what are you, a lemming?? ...oh and maybe in 5 years time. In the meantime, please enjoy our gift to you
  20. do you have any pics? does it look funny with the narrow rear end? cheers
  21. thanks guys... will look at the carisma one. probably looking at a Honda Euro now
  22. I have a mate who might be interested in one Does anyone even have one in Vic club?
