  3. I work at a Nissan dealership in SE Melbourne and until recently had V35 350 GT with same symptoms. Took it to work, Told the scan too it was a Canadian Q60 from memory, read the codes and yep Cam and Crank angle sensors were the problem (in some cases can be from worn timing chains but that would usually be obvious due to a lot of ticking noises) Even though Nissan use OBD2 unless you have really specific (Nissan approved) scan tools it is hard to get good info out of them
  4. Rapid Tune Moorabbin Have to recommend these guys, Shaun is a champ and has done great service on both my Nissan vehicles in the last week with no fuss and bother and outstanding service. Got my V35 fully fluid flushed and replenished with a full report of what had been modified and what could be needed coming up, no added BS and no nasty surprises, and because I live close, driven home and picked up. V35 fully flushed, Oil, Brake Fluid, Auto Trans Fluid, Coolant, new filters and safety checked (found out I'd been seriously lowered ? ) and had some suspension bushes getting close to replacement stage but not critical should be looked at in the next service, plus is happy for you to get the bits and they'll fit them. He just did a normal service on my N15 and fitted a Cube Speed short shifter (great Aussie SA company and serious quality, billet machined...) Got great advice on sourcing bits and honest costings on what they're set up to do. Dudes got a 120Y with a Holden V8 sitting in the front an HR on the rack and some other really cool projects on the go so...... Not sure how much they'll be able to do in the current environment but, If you can, support your local guys.
  5. Hi folks, Paid membership for both SAU and SAU Vic a couple of weeks ago and am wondering how long this takes to process. So far I've only had notifications from Paypal. I sent an email to both groups last night but haven't heard anything yet (I expect it might take a day or so to respond to email) Ant info would be greatly appreciated thanks Mark (aka D1git)

  7. Anyone know how long Supporter Membership packs take to come through? paid both SAU Elite and SAU Vic early this week but haven't seen anything bar my paypal and visa receipts. No rush but some kind of message from the SAU store or whatever to say it's processing would be nice.
  8. Bridgestone have a flash sale running till Saturday this week. Just replaced 2 x 7 year old rears (looked like crap compliance tyres) with RE003's for $210 each. 245/45/18's Haven't given them a workout yet but they're a huge improvement on ride quality and have been good to me in the past on other vehicles. Made me laugh when the guys had to break out the jack cause they were juuuust touching the ground pulling it into the workshop and were worried about getting it on the hoist. Can recommend Bridgestone Mentone Vic for quick good service, rang them, told them exactly what I wanted, no quote needed I did that online, checked stock, booked, slotted in between some big service jobs and done an hour later. Super helpful. Not affiliated at all but when I get great service I like to call it out,
  9. Just make it breathe. Have modified many varied vehicles over the last 35+ years (not a Mechanic so results may vary) and the biggest bang for buck improvements have always been round getting air in and exhaust out in the most efficient way possible. Granted in these days of Emissions regulations that it is harder to do (no more just bolt on some extractors and a pretty much straight through exhaust) but, the factory headers actually flow pretty good and cat back pipes are easily made by good local exhaust shops for much less than "branded" options. If you have the specs and measurements of what you want they can reproduce just about anything and make sure it fits (key point). Unless your engine is breathing right it can't make any of the go fast stuff work and frankly, once it's flowing nice most of the other stuff is redundant unless you're racing. just some thoughts from an old petrol head. ✌️
  10. Cheers mate, the BMW is a 93 e34. Beautiful car but getting to the age where I don't trust it as much as I'd like too. Never given me grief but 350 000 + kms is getting to major rebuild time. My little N15 Pulsar Q hatch is a gem and is a perfect fun runabout that constantly amazes me, a little 1600 shouldn't run like it does and will be a perfect first car for my Son in a years time. thanks again, looking forward to getting a bit more involved and hopefully introducing my boy into a great community of car enthusiast's ✌️
  11. just couldn't help myself. Looked at Mercs and BMW's and......... (yep got a 540i sitting in my driveway but...) Now I just need a nissan 4wd to complete the set ? All the best folks and looking forward to seeing delivery info on the supporters pack I just paid for. cheers Mark
