  1. Sooooo I took a year to grind and stack money. I have enough to blow on everything I need to bring this rb26 build to life, so I will be getting started now. I hope y'all can tune in for a decent build
  2. So far I have acquired the following: NEW RB26 block - 24U NEW cylinder head - 05U NEW crankshaft with the extended collar I am in the process of taking measurements on the crankshaft, so that I can buy main/rod bearings. One thing I noticed is these engravings on the crank. does anyone have info on what these mean? Thanks! hope y'all are staying safe
  3. thanks! totally forgot to check this site. will be on here a lot now that parts are here! I would love to drop this in an S13, but I am also considering finding an R32 or R33
  4. right, so valves, springs, cams, bearings, gears, what else? I need info y'all. I appreciate pointing out the obvious but it would be great if there was someone who could simply share their experience on building an rb26. I imagine that someone mustve created a bill of materials with prices? If thats you, let me know how I can get some advice from you so I can start in the right direction
  5. $15,000 in parts, excluding head and block. also excluding vehicle. $15k for internals, turbo, manifolds, fuel stuff.
  6. So I am fortunate enough to have access to a shop and a mechanic who will help me for free $15,000 into parts is what I am aiming for. Again, I would be fine with going over - going to try not to. This is a build someone put together for me, claiming that it should get me to my goal of ~675. Anyone have experience with any of these manufacturers?
  7. $15k is a conservative number, if I need to go over I will. I'm really just trying to build a motor I can beat on but will last me a while. Im aware that my block is strong (stronger than the standard too) but I could use some suggestions on mods to handle extra power and extend life. a friend of mine has suggested boring/sleeving a few times - I really don't want to if its not needed has anyone drilled the oil return to increase flow out of the head? also, crankshaft recommendations? I really appreciate all of your help!
  8. Does anyone recommend boring/sleeving the block? What about port/polishing the head?
  9. Greetings, Project: Build an RB26DET with all new parts Goal: Reach 675 whp Budget: $15,000 Time constraint: Must be done by 10/31/2022, only doing work on weekends or holidays. Current Part List: RB26 24U (N1) short block RB26 05U (Std) Cyl. Head
  10. Hi everyone, my name is Nick and im the proud owner of a bare RB26 short block/head. My project for 2020 is to build a single-turbo RB26 with at least 675 whp. I have NEVER built a motor from scratch and know very little about the RB. Please, if you have any advice or tips on how to achieve my power goal, feel free to reach out! Follow the build on IG: @RB26.Tech Hope everyone has a fun and safe new year!
