  1. Hey everyone, This is more of a question what you guys think of my camshafts. Should I replace them, should I look for further troubles elsewhere? Am I making mountains out of molehills and should expect this from such a hot engine?
  2. I can tell you’re no stranger to the jokes and I feel like its a set up with that Ferrari comment so I’ll save us the jokes. Listen to your family, the Skyline is not a rocket ship without a considerable amount of money dropped into it (I know you have a family who supports it). But really, why would you want an old car with no airbags and unpredictability? Do you plan on this car being your identity? I personally think this is one of those scenarios you should look at as Right Car wrong Place and time. Get a Buick Encore with apple car play and live life. Or take yours Dads bank info, man up and buy the car. Its easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.
  3. Body is straight, was able to get that done before covid. Its the “little” pieces which has been time (and money!) consuming. But I’m taking my time
  4. Hey everyone, been awhile since I’ve posted. Been pretty busy though. Heres some pics. also, would anyone suggest something about my cams? Is it normal to look so “cooked”? Thanks. Happy New Years.
  5. Thanks GTS, I appreciate all your input. Im going to rip apart the front end and just do it right this time around.
  6. So I degreased the potential problem areas and found some interesting stuff. I knew my power steering pump seemed expired but Unfortunately I came across this sight. Any ideas? You can see the coolant gathering under the oil pan. You can also see a droplet on one Of the Hicas lines in the front. Could it be a bad gasket? Bad water pump? Thanks everyone for your help
  7. Just saw rhdspec’s post the pics on IG. Congrats brother
  8. Love the styling, profile and sound of these. Hows the interior?
  9. Fellow New Jersey-ian ??. Welcome aboard, good luck with the build! Just curious what kind of vehicle do you plan on stuffing the built RB in?
  10. The love for Skylines are always there! Welcome aboard
  11. I will take you up on that offer! ?
  12. Thank you Prank! Hopefully I can be of some use
  13. Thank you! 90 percent of the time its never a good idea to throw money into a car, period. But I’m in it for a humble amount and have been pretty lucky so far in the journey. On the flip-side don’t be surprised to see me in these forums asking for advice more often than not ?.
  14. Great looking car, I've always loved the 33's. Welcome
  15. Also I had added some ATF to my power steering and turned lock to lock. The steering isnt jittery any more and the squeal stopped when at idle but if I were to rev the motor it would let a scream out momentarily
  16. ?? i will try the degreasing next. I thought it was a bad pump at first listen but when I sprayed the a/c belt With a tad bit if water the noise went away temporarily. Thanks for the suggestion
  17. Hello all, So as the title states I’ve been a long time User of this forum. I purchased a salvaged GTR in April of last year and have slowly been working on it to get it on the road. I’ll post some pics of where I started to the point I’m at now. There is still a decent amount of work that needs to be done and I typically get a few hours a week to put my work in. I am still learning and by no means a car guru, just a grown kid who never lost his love for GTR’s. I appreciate the read and any suggestions!
  18. This is an odd one. Let me start by saying I’ve used this forum for troubleshooting a lot of issues with 32 Gtr. I actually bought the vehicle at a salvage yard and for the most part the rebuild has been going smooth. Intercooler, turbocharger inlet pipe, radiator and ac condenser have all been replaced. I did the 3 belts along with the tensioner and notice a squeal coming from p/s belt. Turns out the high pressure line was leaking at the O-ring, again this forum provided the answer. Replaced the O-ring and bought a new reservoir cap b/c the previous one had wires that snapped. Turned the motor on to see everything in action and the belt still squealed and I the pump had a slow but consistent leak from behind the pulley where it meets the power steering pump. Now it’s been about a week since I last worked on the car and noticed power steering fluid coming from the bottom of the radiator? I posted a pic for reference and I’m racking my brain trying to figure this one out. Maybe when the fluid was spraying inside the engine bay some of it got caught in the radiator? I also just put the car on jack stands because I have 3 droplets of coolant forming beneath the oil pan ?‍♂️. According to my forum research it can be the heater core or a few nuts located under the plenum. I appreciate any insight on this one or even reassurance that i’m not totally Burnt. Thank you for the read and help.
