So I need help understanding how I’m pretty much 99% sure my maf is causing me problems but I can not find another maf to work. Long story short. My oem maf broke and I couldn’t get my car to idle it would just choke out and shut off. But if I cover half of the maf off without the filter it would run great. No vacumm leaks etc I’ve checked everything. Also when unplugging maf it runs great and rich. I tried a buddies oem maf off of his skyline and my car still wanted to choke and die. I ordered to e bay mafs j60 and they wouldn’t work either causes same issue. Then I used my buddies cheap e bay maf and it fixed my car for a short time being. It would then run great on cold start and driving when warm etc. but if I would shut the car off after the car was warm for 10 min and restart it it would run lean until I drove down the road for a mile or so and my afr would come back to normal 14.7 at cruise. Now my car runs 14.7 on cold start which is leaner compared to a normal Rb20det cold start. And slowly as the car warms up it gets more lean til it settles at 17.1. But if I drive it and push the throttle to the floor I can get it to run as it should but if I let idle for too long it falls back into the lean mode. Almost like I’m going back and forth from a rich map on my stock ecu to a lean one.
