  1. The genuine ones are a minimum of $95 each on amayama. Jesse Streeter just quoted me $190 each. I can get a set of 6 MSD for $470 on ebay.
  2. Thanks GTSBoy, Where is the best place to get them without having to pay massive Nissan Tax?
  3. Hi All, I discovered last night my misfire was due to a failed coil pack. I've bought a replacement off of FleaBay but want to replace the full set. What's the best Brand/set? OEM or aftermarket?
  4. Ok. It’s working. I only greased the worm drive gear though. I built an electric motor in high school and GTSBoy is correct there is no earth grounding point at No.5 just the 2 brushes. I thoroughly rinsed out any grease and grime with the contact cleaner. I don’t know how you managed to pull the brushes out to stretch the springs I couldn’t grab them even with pointy noses pliers and the graphite brushes felt soft and I didn’t want to damage them. So far it’s working again. I’ll report back here as soon as it stops, if it stops. Hopefully it lasts for 10 years. The drivers one gets the most use. My passenger one is fine though.
  5. That spiral threaded bit is what turns the gears. What type of grease should I use on it?
  6. Now I’ve polished it with silvo, I didn’t have braso, and rinsed it clean with contact cleaner. So after our long discussion, where should/shouldn’t I grease it and what grease do I use?
  7. What ever he did it clearly worked. I’ll take it apart and re-clean it. Maybe I put too much grease or something in the wrong place. It did fix it for a week last time. I’ll take photos and put them here for advice/judgement 🤔
  8. Haha love this conversation. holden and Toyota shared models, Commodore/Lexon Camry/Apolo Daiwoo was owned by Holden Hyundai was Nissan (I think) Kia is owned by Ford who also own Mazda BMW owns VW and a few other too I think. Nissan and Renault are apparently one of the same.
  9. When I cleaned mine last time, the gaps between those contacts on the commutator was filled with the graphite dust from the brushes. That’s what I scrubbed out with WD40 and a tooth brush. I thought it was odd that there was no insulator in between the contacts. There was probably 1-2mm gap between each contact. Are you talking about the grease filling that gap?
  10. Oh thank you, this is what they sold me at Repco 😬 I’ll go to JayCar today and get that other stuff then.
  11. This is what I got this time. I’ll give a thorough clean and lube and let you know how I go.
  12. Was it this stuff? https://www.jaycar.com.au/conductive-carbon-grease-50g/p/NA1034?pos=2&queryId=d2a5c5e0a31f2f7501cb0f9ac10c6b17
  13. Thanks, Maybe I used the wrong grease. It was too long ago, but I’ll try again. I remember the contacts for the brushes were dirty AF. I cleaned them with WD40 and a tooth brush. Can you get replacement brushes from somewhere?
  14. Hi everyone, My drivers side (front right) window hasn’t worked since I bought the car 3-4 years ago. I took the electric motor cover off and cleaned out all the dust and it worked for a week and stopped again. The previous owner said it hadn’t worked for years too. I asked the wreckers and they said they never have any of them because they break so frequently. Are $50-100 eBay/Amazon ones ok? Any other recommendations please?
  15. Its a V35 350GT '03. I normally do my own services but its at the point where it needs more than a service and its pushing my abilities. So is JMS non existent anymore or is Jaustech just better?
  16. I'm about to move to adelaide in a couple of weeks. Is the business still running? Is Tyson still working there? A mate also recommended Jaustech Automotive, How do they compare to JMS?
  17. I called them and apparently they’ve moved and changed names to Injector CT $45/e to clean and test. He’s going to see if he can find a working set so we can do an exchange.
  18. I have read every post. Thank you for the recommendation. I don’t understand how an engine that has been used in so many Nissan cars can be so difficult and expensive to get parts for.
  19. I called them today and they said they only do diesel and no one in NT does petrol injectors. I took some pictures of the injectors without removing the plenum but you can’t read the part numbers. I’ve attached some pictures for reference
  20. I called them today and they said they only do diesel and no one in NT does petrol injectors. I took some pictures of the injectors without removing the plenum but you can’t read the part numbers. I’ve attached some pictures for reference. Chassis no. CPV35-508551
  21. So I need these ones then? https://www.injectorplanet.com/products/unisia-jecs-fbjc100-nissan-16600-5l700
  22. Yes Darwin is the major city in NT. Because of how remote we are everything come with attached Darwin Tax and everything takes longer to get here. There is minimal competition or choice so everyone charges more and does the worst job to get it done. You can’t trust anyone up here and if you find someone you can trust it’s guaranteed they will leave soon. I got a quote from Yamaha for part for my bike and they quoted me $1k, I got a quote from Adelaide and it was $500 inc postage. All I want is to get the car running as quick easy and cheap as possible but not a botched Band-Aid fix. I want reliability. Which is why I was thinking aftermarket instead of refurb. Sending them to USA for refurb seems rediculous. But if that’s what it takes!
  23. Has anyone used these guys before? https://www.ausautostore.com/products/fuel-injectors-for-nissan-skyline-350gt-v35-vq35de-2001-2007?variant=42204482240661
  24. How do you do that at home? I don’t have a cleaning/testing rig! or the time to waste trying to do it. I’d rather just spend the money and get better new ones that aren’t a maybe fix.
