  1. The old has gone out and the "new" went in: a big difference if you look at the overal state of the old- vs new autobox 😎 Very clean example and works like a charm 👌 It "shifts" a lot quicker and the box stays a lot cooler..... and the kickdown actually works 😅 Been out and about and had a couple of testdrives: the "manual" option reacts just as quick so i'm a happy chappy 😊 Thanx all for the help and info 👊
  2. Thanx for the info: didn't know that because there is no extra aero on my car and already asked myself "what the X stood for" 😎
  3. Hi Kinkstaah, Thanks again for the amount of information! 👌 On part of GT-X having GTT parts: i don't know what it has extra over a GT, but it defo ain't got the GTT brakes 😅 I ordered a set of disks at DBA to do an upgrade..... but was "to dumb" to not measure them up before ordering at the local DBA distributor: too bad they won't take them back, so I now have a set of discs that won't fit: trying to sell them to someone in the Netherlands because shipping is like way to expensive. I will install the autobox next week and have 3 months guaranty, so will be driving a lot to check out if something is "bad": i keep you posted about "my luck" or "un-luck" 🤣
  4. If you "end up" in Utrecht it's not that far from Leiden (like 45 min travel depending on where you live). The lights indeed have to be modified because we drive on the other side 😉 We changed the lights to a "horizontal" beam, which is allowed in the Netherlands. At the moment I got an external fog light but will change the smaller "brake lights" in the back so I can take that one off 😎 On part of the suspension: if needed i have a set..... but if the car is already lower I would let it go to the inspection so you can get smaller number plates: I have these TOO BIG number plates because the car was standard: if it was already lowered there is a chance they let you have those smaller plates. You can't "re-register" the car to have the smaller plates after you lowered the car 😒 On part of the exhaust they are stricter: it has to have the catalytic converter and not make too much noise: I still have the standard muffler lying around, so if needed I can help you out. Keep me informed on your plans on when to move to the Netherlands 😎
  5. Hi Kinkstaah, Thanx for all the info you provided, highly appreciated 👌 The "going to manual" is not an option I had in mind as I have to drive an autobox because of a motorcycle incident some 28 years ago (damn, i'm getting old 😅). I found a company in the UK and they had a spare autobox with only 68000km on it and 3 months warrenty..... and at a good price, so I'm going to install it and drive a lot the comming 3 months.... which is great because the summer is comming 😎 I'll keep my fingers crossed it "survives" and "mind a little less" that the box is a "slow mover" on part of gearchange: by the way.... is there a reason why they state specifically the box is for a Neo NA or Neo GTT? Can you install a GTT box on an NA or is it not a straight fit??
  6. Look at "Origin Labo": they are the lights they use in D1 🙂 Great to hear you move from Japan to the Netherlands: any idea where you want to go? I know people that can help you with getting the car on Dutch plates, so let me know 😃 The rear quarter panel-, rear door and rear bumper(touch ups to make it perfect) have been painted at €1320.- 🙄 The "Labo's" only go in when the car has had it's yearly APK check: it's like "shaken" but not as strict as you have in Japan 😉: it's an anual check for safety, but from the 1st of May I got my own garage(with 3 friends) in Leiden where I will be helping out and doing maintenance in my spare time 😏 We are currently getting the place into shape and we will have 2 hydraulic lifts 😎
  7. Back on the street after 1.5 years in storage. Wheels have been powder coated in Gun Metallic Gray and the rear quarterpanel had to be resprayed because a couple of kids got their scooters "planted" and made a big dent. To bad there was no "paper with info" who did it so a lot of money to the paintshop instead of upgrades 😒 Small bootspoiler and roofspoiler wil go on and got me some "Labo headlights" because these days the original headlights are to expensive to be stolen from the car 😅
  8. Thanx for that quick respons, highly appreciated. But serious? To bad then: i read their article on what to do to make the gear changes quicker for the autobox and they where all like "this mod is no problem and it works". Should have ordered an MV automatics brain to get it done. Which transmission oil would you recommend and do you know if there's another way to make the autobox change quicker?
  9. Hi all, My car has been in storage for more than a year so today i drove it again after all this time, so was happy as can be 🙂 I have a big problem now: I asked at the UK forum(back in 2021) which was the best oil to use for the autobox of 1999 (120000km), and they replied I should get me some Castrol Transmax ATF Z. We changed the oil in 2021, but then the problem started: after the flush/ oil change the autobox went into limp mode and it wouldn't go into 4th gear: because we didn't have time left I drove home and came back 2 weeks later, having driven only 150 km.We checked the oil but it smelt really burnt and the oil was pitch black after only 2 weeks. After a long flush of the box (again new oil, this time no Castrol and €300.-) the box worked fine..... but after 2000 kilometers the automatic is playing up again: I can use the kick down but the car sometimes won't go to a higher gear or just revs up high like a CVT: so then at 100 km/hour the revs go to 4000rpm (sounds like second gear) and it doesn't accelerate anymore until i take my foot of the gas.The solution for now is to slow down, put it in "manual" and go to second gear and change gears in that way. Then at 100 km/hour it's driving ok and the kick-down works ......but it is not every time that this occurs, but it's frustrating. We took down the oil pan and found a lot of "metal particles" at the magnet on the bottom of the pan. Anyone got any idea or had the same problem? All the info and idea on where to look is more then welcome Thanx in advance! Cheers, Eddie
  10. Hi all, Just a quick question: it is possible to fit a pair of Z32 calipers at the rear of a R34 GT-X, but will they fit "straight on" or do we have to change brackets or something else? I ordered a set of DBA rotors for the back, but they are 296mm instead of the standard 266mm rotors... so I have to change the calipers, which is not a bad idea because the brakes are "kinda small" 😉 Thanx for all the replies! Cheers. Eddie
  11. Hi all, Soms 15 years ago I drove with the Dutch Skyline Owners UK to meetings and shows 🙂 Met a lot of guys back then.... and then it was over for some 10 years: my kid was 13 back and started playing icehockey..... so we were together for 10 years on- and off the ice and on- and off the inline tracks in Germany(played for 2 German Teams and we had a LOT of fun together). Now, 15 years after my first drive and ownership (and LOTS of new friends in the UK) I bought myself a R34GT-X as a daily drive: a Turbo version is simple to thirsty, but DAMN how I love the Nissan's from the "pre-Renault" time.... You know what I mean 😉 I purchased a 1999 4 door R34GT-X automatic with only 118000km's on the clocks and it's a grade 4 B: it's as clean as they come new as you can see from pictures. Why a "slushbox"? I was in a motorcycle accident(I was a mechanic at that time) and can't use my foot since then, some 27 years ago. Because I always loved the R33 and was not able to find a good looking R33 4 door I just had to have something just as great.... and this one just came in my path and couldn't be happier(with the current prices rising in Japan I could only dream I would ever own one again, so i'm over the moon with this completely bone-stock car that looks like it has been parked inside a warm garage for the last 21 years 👌 So now you know me: i will be around more to get info on "tuning" a R34GT-X with simple mods like airfilters/ exhaust/ etc. and will probably attend some shows with my now grown-up son..... at least.... that's what he thinks 😉😋 So.... cheers from the Netherlands, Zoetermeer(15 km's from The Hague). greetz, Edwin a.k.a.
