  1. spend $5k on your car, and invest $15k, best of both worlds sammy alternatively you can give me the $20,000, and ill 'invest' it.. i could do with a new turbo. edit: i should really check if there is more than one page before i post...
  2. i have a rb25det head here too.. and a forwards facing plenum if you want it.
  3. a stock rb25 will handle about 350-380hp safely, any more and you will start to lose a ringland or two. depends how you drive it too.. i know of one in WA making ~400rwhp, but its not driven very hard, its barely driven at all. whereas ive seen other rb25's let go at 330rwhp.. hell, mine died at 300hp, but thats another story..
  4. ive got 6 in a spare intake manifold. im in wa though. let me know!
  5. same shit, different bucket.
  6. if you stand by your quote, you shouldnt have to say anything. the guy asked for some info on the quote, and he was given info. it wasnt specified that he wanted to use top shelf parts, otherwise people wouldnt have mentioned china manifold and the like. it also may not have been specified to you, but he said the car is stock as a rock, so we told him what supporting mods he will need to keep it at 420-460rwhp. not everyone knows the in/outs of an RB25, thats why they go to workshops/forums for help.
  7. 400hp on a stock rb25? eeep!
  8. heres a thread with links on removing the dash, and fixing the heater core. (on a R33 however, not sure what you own?)
  9. that one has ABS scott, just looked at the pics. i'm sure if all else fails, you wont have trouble finding a non-abs 33 gtst MBS.
  10. regardless of the cost, they should atleast advise him.. f**k if i was paying $20k in parts, id want to be told what colour underwear i should wear to maintain the car..
  11. yeah i did, but im going off what he was quoted, i dont see them telling tim to drop the comp. with a gasket.
  12. 350hp is different to 450hp mikey. and you dont know the condition of his motor. but yes, id be a bit concerned if they overlooked the engine internals.. its all good and well them telling you what will make the power, but whats the point in having it all, but an engine that wont last? hell, save your money! spend some of the 20 grand on a T107 Thumper.. you'll make a shitload of horsepower, assuming you dont throw a rod or 6 by full boost.
  13. pfft.. just buy a 2nd hand motor for $1750 that has been recently rebuilt like i did andrew but yeah.. what supporting mods do you have? brakes, suspension, diff, gearbox, clutch, tyres.. etc etc.. all good and well going fast, but how long will it last, and can you stop?
  14. what internals do you have? that will see a non-built motor go bye-bye very soon! 20 grand seems a bit expensive for 450rwhp though... got any other quotes? try xspeed, top racing, ovaboost, etc.. might find it cheaper elsewhere, especially for cash
  15. rightio.. i just sent payment through ($28.40) for me, kylie and jnr. probably take a day or 2..
  16. brad - how much are kids?
  17. i used to have an OS Giken Super single.. that thing was a pig, rattled like a twin plate, grab point was just off the floor, and it had a 3000lb pressure plate.. good fun driving in peak hour traffic when you have to launch at 2000rpm to not stall it
  18. should have got a stagea. nice car though, much prefer the new liberty's over the new rex's...
  19. pfft! my front rims clear the calipers by 1-2mm was looking at a set of 33 GTR brembo's.. but i dont want to change my rims, and id prefer not to use spacers.. guess kylie doesnt get my GTS-T calipers what rotors are they brad, DBA5000? also, did you need to do anything with the master cylinder upgrading the brakes?
  20. R33's came with 16" standard. its to do with the way the spokes are at the back of the rim, that determines if they will fit or not. skyline brakes apparently need a 'high clearance' type rim, ie. one that the back of the rim is quite flat, or curves very close to the rim itself, not like alot of those rims that curve in to give them the 'dish look'
  21. well.. its still smoking with the vent in the rocker covers.. leading me to beleive its a turbo seal
  22. yeah stock.
  23. paul - no idea... it just had that 'U' pipe, and that was it. my old one had the elbow in one rocker cover, and T piece in the other rocker cover, so im guessing this engine used to run a catch can, and they took it off and put the U pipe back on.. as soon as i find my catch can i'll put it on, but for the time being i ripped the old T piece + return pipe off my old head. jason - i had lots of bits left over actually...
  24. nfi seems to be either no vent on the rocker covers, or a turbo seal...
  25. going to muffle that external gate too brad? sounded (and smoked ) like a dirty rotary on that cruise! when are you looking at buying? ive got a 4" in/4.5" out cannon on mine, but i want to go to a twin tip exhaust, so the dif back part is going.
