Hey folks - only days to go now, I can't wait! So racing this SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY!!! Plan is to just meet there around 1PM. I called them and they couldn't reserve spots but said they can pretty much always fit us in. I will call back on Friday to confirm - just in case they competely book the place out (do occasionally for parties and such). Since there aren't that many of us committed to going, lets all just meet up there. Then go racing. Afterwards, anybody wanting to get a snack at the Krispy Kreams can cruise on over to the one near the airport. See ya soon.

Used Toyo Transas Cruze

Bump - doesn't anybody need some cheap tyres for smok'n? -
Ok so time I put GD2ILA up here. I've owned the car for 2.5 years. Recently I made the front lip (in carbon), added Carbon rear wing and changed the wheels for some dish. I plan so start doing some more external cosmetics, but I'm really pleased with the way it's coming along.

Used Toyo Transas Cruze
Pezhead replied to Pezhead's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Sorry bout that - I'm in Sydney North Shore. And thinking about it more like 30% tread left. Was about 7-8 mm full depth from new and now there's like 3 mm full. -
One pair of Toyo Transas Cruze tyres in 275 35 18 size. About 40% tread left on them. As you can see from the tread indicators in the pictures there's about 1mm left on the inside and almost 2 mm on the outside (slight 1mm camber across face of tyre). I'm sure would make good drift tyres or some burn-em-up rubber for a smoke show comp. $75 takes them away. I have a GTR so have to replace all 4 at a time. The fronts had camber wear too bad to use. Pick up only as not worth shipping. Left Tyre Wear Right Tyre Wear

Hope you didn't feel like we 'snubbed' you we couldn't find anybody else when we decided to leave. Hopefully catch you again on the next cruise.

R33 Gtr's Have Too Much Torque!
Pezhead replied to Goombeh's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Your guess is correct and 33 & 34 GTR's do pre-load the system. No matter how slow you take off the torque gauge will register a little as soon as you start moving until you're rolling at least 20 km/h (from my experience). Then because your rears are smaller, the computer "thinks" that your rears are spinning and thus will transfer torque to the fronts to try to compensate. If the diameters are out enough will do it all the time - that is what is bad for the transfer case. It will try and engage the 4wd but due to the different diameters will force slippage in the transfer case. Over time this will burn it out - they are VERY expensive to fix so this is a bad idea. If you have to drive it to the tyre shop, swap the larger tyres to the rear so the rears are spinning slower than fronts. This is a temporary fix but get them sorted out quick. -

Question On Freight Within Nsw
Pezhead replied to conan7772's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
See the shipping sticky. I used airroad direct to ship two sets of suspension from Sydney to Melbourne. Was easy to book online, they were quick, I didn't have to be present for them to pick up (Left on my porch). And it got there the next day. I was pretty impressed. Was like < $100 which is pretty good. I'll use them again in the future. -
read the thread, the wood is for modelling only. I pulled the part off of the wood. I did wood so I can make another any time I need it. The part weighs less than a couple of kg, you can literally balance it on two fingers.

Flat Carbon Fibre Panels For Door Trims?
Pezhead replied to xanavinismo's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
I honestly don't know how you could cover your door panels with flat unless you are just doing some of the inserts that are totally flat. Seriously have a look around a doing some covering, but you are going to be surprised how expensive just the raw carbon material is. It is about $70-100 per square meter in oz and about $30+ in the US. -
hey hey - happy B'Day Niel! Birthday Bunny wishing you many happy returns!

Looks to me like its made from a clear piece of perspex cut to the exact same shape and then LED lit. Looks sharp. The ones with detail inside would be harder, obviously multi layer.
-
Hey, I think Grant is correct. These are mine 18 x 10 +22 (so 7mm inset from what you're after). Mine is sitting at about 345mm in the rear.
-
Yay! plans changed so looks like I can make it now. Will be along as long as it isn't totally pissing down rain.
-
Sorry, was too big of a job for me to talk on work. Took about 8-10 full days spread over about 2 months as I only get one day per weekend to dedicate to my car work. Most of that time was building the full scale model that I did out of wood. As other pointed out there are other materials that are faster to work - like foam. Check out the build thread and think that there's several hours between each photo.
-
That's right. Titanium is cool - light and strong. But unfortunately a very brittle metal. The springs and sleeve is to allow a little flex - or else it would just crack under the flex and vibration.
-
That's actually stage 2. Will be building a lip for the lip - hehe. 2nd piece will be an extension to ultra low. Mainly for just show-n-cruises. This one only clears the exit to my driveway by about 20 mm - my driveway sucks balls! So I needed a practical approach on my car.

oh darns! I just got commited to do someth'n on the same day at 4 pm. Not sure if I can re-schedule it. I'm iffy now. Sorry boys. was look'n forward to show'n off the new stuff on the car too
