  2. The intake pipes arent that bad, the turbos are a bastard to get to...but still better than an RB26 imo...let alone a 300zx lol

  11. +1 standard a supra/soarer/Aristo arent the best handling things (they all run the same suspension btw) But thet is due to Toyotas mega over engineering...just have a look at how solid the front suspension arms are on them compared to Nissans pressed tin POS. this all adds weight, given the budget for good light suspension components I would take the supra/Soarer over a Skyline anyday. My only gripe with my 1jz is the lack of go under 3000revs, but that can be fixed with a midsize single turbo. As for not easy to work on.....I would rather work on JZs over RBs anyday of the week, Toyota laid out every thing so much neater than Nissan...the Nissan Wiring looks like it was done by a 5 year old compared to my Soarer...and hell even my 7m powered Cressida, which is a child of the 80's. As for the coil pack thingo someone said before...they are Batch injection not ignition and JZ have far fewer coil pack failures than RB's Also the fact that my unopened 1jz has 217,000ks and im still quite happy to turn it to 7200rpm and not worry about spinning a bearing and breaking a ring land or emptying the sump into a catch can. Even when mega heat soaked after sitting in traffic for an hour it doesnt knock or have a hissy fit and go into R&R. So yeah the head ports are smaller on a JZ compared to an RB but who cares...just add another 2psi of boost and there you go. So in short I love my Soarer/1jz....lol yeha I have a soarer.... Even if it doesnt sound like an RB.....infact i pesonally think they sound better at high rpm. For those 1JZ non fans, go drive a VVti single turbo 1JZ soarer or chaser with a 5speed, having peak torque at 2200rpm is awesome!!!!....espesially compared to my non Vvti twin turbo one which doesnt peak until 4700rpm Which is not so bad because they love to rev...just sucks my long geared 4 speed auto makes it hard to get it up in the revs at legal speeds. And like Stevo my car has started 1st time everytime....unlike my Previous RB25

  16. I'm a late starter here but. From the video it is very clear that the 300Zx could have avoided a 2 car crash and gone straight on instead of trying to make the turn...I too have run out of brakes there at turn 10....but brakes dont just give up the ghost...you will have a long pedal well before they just simply stop slowing the car. As for the bloke saying Eric should have been going quicker ON THE ENTRY TO PIT LANE!!!...well that is a big steaming pile of horse shit...its a club track day, and a passenger session at that...not the wakefield 300...and lets not forget that the pit limit is 40km/h and wakie doesnt have the longest pit entry road. Thunder - you say that Eric should have been more aware, yet you fail to mention that the driver of the 300 should have been more aware of slower traffic AND the fact that he had no brakes. As for saying her went down to 1st gear...well at peak revs what speed is 1st gear? 60-70km/h he was doing way more than that Unfortunate incident it may be, but it really should not have involved 2 cars.
  17. just saying that it took a while and that it would be interesting to see how it goes...most real big power turbo cars struggle...which im sure you know.   18. I might strap the soarer to the rollers...no real point though...its stock and has 216,000ks....so not entirely sure I wanna risk having an over zealous dyno operator smash it off the limiter a few times.
