Whats wrong with the standard intake?
I have yet to see any real results from these "bolt on 11kws with a bit of tube" things that every man and his dog is selling.
im sorry but your car will not provide enough vacume in the intake pipe to cause a restriction.
maybe is it was a 400 odd cube V8 that has a 2" intake pipe, then yeah it might help.
The commodore soft cover setup is MUCH better than the clips, and Im a ford man through and through.
both the L98 and the 4L turbo are excellent engines.
the ford will carry more in the tray.
but either way I would be happy with any of them.
Even if you just go with GTR rods, you will need to balance the lot (they are heavier than 25 rods)
A Decent Oil Pump is a 90% must and a crank collar is an absolute must (do it once do it right), beacuse you dont wanna be pulling the motor back out with a dead crank because the oil pump broke.
Go with 9:1 for the compression! unless you plan to run 30psi of boost.
"Group C"
Might even be after a 351 Cleveland,
So if anyone has either. You will make me very happy!
funny thing is I have both, but they are on the goldcoast lol
Hey guys as ti says I am after a 308 V8 block and crank, or a complete short motor, doesnt need to be running, infact I would prefer a broken one so it will be cheaper
So if you know of anyone wanting to sell one, let me know thanks
Andrew
Surge slots wont really make a difference unless the turbo is surging, it actually decreases the compressor effeciancy because it bleeds off air, it doesnt suck air through the holes, rather it releases air.
If you want to do that I would get the smallest turbo you can get away with, the NC fairlane makes 165kws at the flywheel if you only want a bit more than that (say 165kw at the treads then you would only need something like a 28RS, not a 650hp gt35R, bit over kill imo.
