  2. Ive had RB25DET's with 8.5:1 and 9:1, the 8.5:1 motor sucked balls compared to the 9:1 engine.
  3. Really I though they were much more than that, I must be looking in the wrong places then As for the boost control things, its just the way that the exhaust gas coming from the flapper flows perpendicular to the gases leaving the turbine wheel, rather than inline like a garrett.
  4. Why are you going so low on compression? No need for ARP studs unless you want 1000hp
  5. Sounds good, I dont like the look of the internal wastegate setups though, screams boost control issues to me. They do sound very expensive though, being that the journal bearing turbos were 2K+ so im a little scared to see what these will cost.
  6. hahaha yeah, or strangle it with a tiny exhaust housing. Either way, Im very interested in how these turn out.
  7. You will need the sender that came with the gauge chubbs. So either pull the factory sender out and put the new one in, or get one of those sandwich plates that go between the oil filter and block.
  8. Are they going to be the typical Borg Warners though? I.e Large Frame stuff aimed at drag racing, or will there be anything aimed at the GT30-GT35 audience? or even smaller?

While what the 2 guys above said is very true, the lack of available diff gears or gearbox ratios (that dont cost a squillion dollars) Means we are kinda stuck with trying to have the best all round engine package. (talking about engines only here) Unless we go stick a Ford 9" diff under the bum, where ratios are on the shelf from 2:1 all the way to 7:1 in 0.01:1 increments.

  18. No such thing as tuned length exhaust manifolds for turbo cars. the name is a gimmick used by Egay vendors to make it sound like they know what they are talking about.

    I'd would be paying very close attention to all the mounting point for the upper wishbones and the caster rod, its only bolted through pressed metal than you can bend with your fingers, see if the caster rod mount has torn, if so it will need plate welded in there and re-drilled etc.

  22. Peak power means stuff all in a street car, For example, how many dyno queens have actually run a quick time down the strip? I can think of 2, Eddie Tassone's VH commodore (Twin turbo 383ci V8) and the Trick and Mansweto Capri (604ci NA V8) but these were both built as drag cars from the outset. yet a heap of other cars have made big power but are useless at anything other than being strapped to some rollers.
  23. Its not as bad as NSW where you can have your car impounded for 3 months if someone just rings up as says you were doing burnouts. Happened to a few mates of mine after they had a blue with some neighbors
  24. Also remembered I have a Z32 AFM sitting here, the mesh is still there, I bought it 2nd hand, worked fine for the 2 days if was on the car. Mega awesome price of $150 posted.
