sometimes an after markets bov that isnt plumbed back can cause this problem aswell, particularly if the car hasnt been retuned. Air that comes from a bov has previously been metered by the afm, if it is not plumbed back and you have no compensation, the engine will also run rich during the time shortly after the bov operates.I wouldnt be to concerned, my cas a constant flame thrower, cops sore it once, F#$k i was up that special creek with no paddle and a sinking boat that day !

possibly waste gate creep aswell.On a few of the xr6 turbo's I have worked on, the waste gate is to small to support high boost aplications ( standard is 6 psi ) what happens is the boost wil spike as you mention. a common mod on thr standard xr6 turbo is to enlarge the waste gate to increase its flow and hold a consistant boost pressure. Typhoon turbo chargers now have a different rear housing so it hasnt been an issue with them.

Sandwich plate is a mechanic term for the bearing support plate of which both the front and rear gbox housings bolt to, in the centre on the gbox.in terms of strngth, thickness of the plate and the material it is made from is probably what the person is asking.some alloy casing gbox's have an alloy sandwich plate whilest others such as a supra 5 speed have a steel plate. Steel is better because it is stiffer and has better bearing support however it is heavier.Hope this helps. I have alot of experience with holinger gbox's thru the line of work im in, they are alloy but over an inch thick !

so is the pfc f-con programmable or is it pre programmed? as i said , there is no where for a controller or lap top to plug into, does it need to be pulled apart

hey all, I've got one of these pfc f-con thingys to which i bought a while back, all these things are a bit confusing as ppl keep thinking its a power fc which bought, well all mine says on the cover is pfc f-con and says it is a programmed fuel computer system, there doesnt seem to be anything where a hand controller can be pluged into, its is a piggy back computer. Does this computer simply over ride the factory pre set fuel map and compensate accordingly to modifications made to the engine such as afm enlargement?

Hui, Usually when my light came on it was caused by low fluid level in the steering resevior, check that. as for the knocking noise, perhaps a steering shaft universal is starting to fail of is hitting something, check also the steering shaft rubber dampner

cef33y, yeah champ, he is a mate if my brother, went to school with him ! yeah its a pretty cool car, by the time a had finished with it, 12.2 @ 115mph, it was a bit of a weapon ! sleeper to ! robbie, sorry dude i havent got any pics, car is claen though, couple of samll dents but certainly nothing out of character for a car tis age, looks the same as most GTS-T's on the rd, no body kit, no wheels and the fmic is still bleck so hard to see. its not a notice board put it that way
