  1. Id go the turbo s13.. NA's get boring very quick. Cant really do many bang for buck mods with the NA either. Maybe get a stocker s13, learn to drive it properly, then mod it over time.
  2. Heya, if you still have the 'mesh' inserts I would love them. Can only pick them up on Friday this week. Let me know if you still have them. Gauth
  3. Umm I am not 100% sure, but I think that some people on the www.silviawa.com/forums have had this done to their car. I think I remember seeing a sticky somewhere there with details on who does it etc. I know your car is not a sil, but it may help. Gauth
  4. Just went to car stereo city and bought a centre console 'pocket' for it. But yeh if you have or planning to get a RSM or safcii etc, do what Bam sugested above.
  5. Finally got some free time on my hands after ages! Think i'll bring the NA down for a few laughs:)
  6. Taken from the silvia wa forums... http://www.mediastatements.wa.gov.au/media...08?OpenDocument Oh also heard that its enforced from midnight tonight.
  7. After alot of ringing around I went through a broker who finally found me insurance with Fordtron (East). Just cars can do it, but I found them to be more expensive..
  8. I own a GTS, and in my honest opinion I doubt it would be worth doing any major performance mods to it. Maybe you should start off with the usual catback system and K&n panel filter or POD and see how you go from there. If this is your first car, you should get some quotes for insurance as you'll be surprised for what they charge for drivers with no driving history and only 17 (I was in the same boat) even if its N/A. Good luck
  9. I had a similar problem. Check the voltage when starting the car and it cranks, i found that mine dropped from 14V (indicating that it was charging ok, thus no alternator problems) to around 7V when the engine cranked. It was 90% due to the battery and i went and got myself a new one. Starts great everytime now, even in the cold, after days of not driving it. Gauth
  10. Thanks for your input on these extractors Greg. If you could also send me a pic of the setup on your ride it would be much appreciated. Cheers Gauth
  11. Heyas, sorry to hi-jack the thread, but are these coby extractors worth the money? Anyone got any dyno figures before and after? Cheers Gauth
  12. Good stuff dude! You had a NA 33 before the 34gtt right? Thats a change id love to make someday soon. Enjoy, and yeh post some pics! Gauth
  13. Hi there. I too got my exhaust fitted by the good people at Morley quickfit. Dont know if this will help since my 33 is NA, but i got a 2.5" catback system fitted with a GENIE S/S muffler and well i guess its far from quiet to say the least. After i got a resonator fitted it was a lot better. I love the tone of it now. Note: I did read that you had work done there on your NA R33 but am assuming it didnt have a genie muffler? I hope this helps Gauth
  14. I'm pretty sure The Spoiler Shop do this, as they painted my dash plastics for me (Could of really attempted it myself after looking at the procedure, but wouldnt of got the great results). I know it costs more then just a strip back + paint, around 300 for all the plastics, but they do a good job. I also know of some people in the eastern states who got some carbon fibre type of contact and did it themselves but apparently very time consuming! Good luck
  15. For insurance its not that much cheaper between a 33 gts and gtst as a FIRST car, but it definatley will be cheaper to maintain the gts.. Do some more research before you go into anything, you dont want to have any regrets later down the track..
  16. Well done, I was sitting in the stand during the run, first time ive ever seen the ride on a dyno, i was blown away!
  17. I got my P's through this new system last year, the actual driving test was quite easy, didnt even test me on parallel parking or 3 point turns for some reason even though i learnt it thoroughly, dont know if this is general with all instructors or not. 25 hours wasnt too bad. I spent most of those hours in peak hour traffic and driving at night and rain. When i actually went to submit it, the lady at the counter just skimmed over the pages.. but yeh i know of a lot of people who simply just wrote down hours and not actually doing them. Not saying its a good thing, but yeh they got through it.... Now comes the hazard and perception test which is done on the computer. Just general road knowledge really, go through a video simulation and it will ask you to click the mouse to do certain actions. eg. Click the mouse button when you should slow down etc etc. They give you a cd with some practise simulations to go through, pretty straight forward stuff. Havnt heard of anyone failing this test yet, if you do anything wrong they just normally give you a print out with some areas you can work on judging by your results in the test. Good luck with it all again! Btw i think they are increasing the log book hours to 50 soon so its a good thing your doing it now.
  18. I was going to go but alas money as always ended up going towards car:( Hybrid are going to be there, my favourite electronic act!
