Got a dump welded to my existing Mild Steel 3" front pipe by a professional shop welderer who has his own 13.2 sec gts25t (stock turbs) and who also does some work with coolers and drag cars. DN include seperate wastegate pipe, though the area around the wastegate is significantly expanded from the flange to a point about 6" down the pipe to improve flow. Cost me $140, most of which was for the flange. some tidy up work was required (grinder - thank's cam's uncle) to tidy up the flange.

So where is SSt and what's happening at 5:30 that I need to see?

I personally reckon that insurance is a scam. Everyone always says that the reason companies charge so much is because the numbers justify the risk.... but explain to me how you can justify charging $4000/ys to insure a $10,000 silvia? That basically implies that EVERY silvia is going to be written off once every two years. what a load of crap!!

Yeah, unfortunately people like me have contributed to the downfall in their exclusiveness. If i'd had more time left pre-RAWS, I think I would have sought out a more unique little beastie. like a leopard, cefiro or a chaser. but the good thing to remember is that the more of them that there are, the better the availability of parts and the more statistically viable it becomes to insure them (theoretically). Still, I just about killed one of my freinds the other night when she said that skylines were just the new commodores.

Riaz, Im probably keen for some 2 channel amp-ness in the not too distant future. Nate, I have response amp action alrteady and wouldnt hesitiate to recommend them to anyone. they perform well beyond thier dollar value.

If you're only able to spend $20k on a car, are you going to be able to afford to maintatain a GTR? I was thinking about this last night. Its an older car, EVERYTHING is rarer than the gtst and in most cases you've got to buy two of everthing.... I reckon there's gonna be a lot of 89 GTRs for sale domestically (private) because people just can't afford to own them. ouch!

Mr GTST, 17k might get you a non-tubo auto. there you go. $17,000 camry that costs as much as a ferrarri to ensure. wikkid stix. jmp, got to Prestige Motorsports (google) and have a look at their recent stock lists. you can then pretty much add between 3 and 5 grand to the costs quoted there for something landed in Aus.

mtam, I dont think you have to go through the same process to compy the vehicle, provided that you have owned it overseas for more than 1 and a half years. you will still have to pass it over the pits though, and so may require an engineering certificate.
