  1. no. the only way to be at this day is to be an paid entrant or one of theri 3 crew members. its a private track hire no an open to the public thing.
  2. hi guys unfortunately there are no weekend dates available for a private track hire between now and 10th of october. as such i have organised to run a mid week test day for july. DATE LOCKED IN FOR THE MONDAY 19TH same rules as last 2 i organised. you pay to secure your spot, if you cant make it its your responsibility to find a replacement to get your money back. i will help where possible as i have people in the past. price for track hire is $6600 for 12 cars or $8800 for 20 cars. which is $550 per car or $440 is we get 20 cars, i will be adding $5 per entrant to cover costs on my phone bill in organising the day which last time wasnt a problem for people. if we get more then 12 but less then 20 i will endevour to get a deal with wsid as i did last time. cheers Shane 1. shane cressida 2936 (BTP) PAID 2. 3. radials vs slicks wont make any difference to mph, if anything radials would make it more likely to go higher mph as there would be wheel spin in the first half of the track
  4. i think with some suspensions tuning the black gtr has planty left in it, i didnt get to see the 8 sec passes i think i saw 2 9 sec passes and it was a hand full using up a fair bit of the lane. i reckon that auto was a great move, the car is beautiful to look at, i and many other were very impressed with it. no dramas on organising the day, there will be a few who attended who will not be welcome in the future as they could not adhere to simple track rules of wrist bands and crew sizes. other then a few trouble makers i think every one had a pretty good day, althought the cressida didnt make it i had a great day helping out our guys and watchin everyone else have a good go. Shane
  5. what brakes you running, if you are running facotry brakes or big brakes 15 inch wont fit over them. i was running r33 brake on my cressida, i bought 17 inch front runners form titan motorsports, 17x4 with 2.25 inch back space which should be perfect for skyline too. you can run a 26 inch tall tyre which looks nicer then 15 inch wiht 26 inch tall tyre

  8. sounds really promosing mark, the car seems to be getting a bit of a following outside of the sport compact world now aswell which is great for you. well done Shane
  9. hi folks Compak attak is fast approaching on the 28th of march. i have just spoken with john henman from WSID about a private test day. we are looking at the monday the 15th of march. pricing is $550 for 12 cars or $440 for 20 cars. same deal as last time, cash or money deposited secures your spot, first in first served, if you need to pull out its your responsibility to find a replacement. 1. shane cressida 2936 2. brad rx7 from darwin 3272 3. dean toyota soarer 4. kain (dragster forums) 5. steve Boyd (sr 20 triton) 2302 6. rod burgundy 4255
  10. i have 4 spots left, yes the track is prepped, yes that price includes the ambulance
  11. hi folks, after some of our guys only getting 2 runs on friday and the cressida not making it due to a log book issue, we have decided to bite the bullet and have a private test day on the 15th of november. we have spots open so PM me if you are interested. the track hire cost $6600 so that works out at $550 a car for the 12 spots. basically the first people to get in contact and pay for their spot are in. if you pull out its your responsibility to find some one else to take your place and get your $550 back. gates open to competitors at 8am, then scrutieneering, racing form 10 am till 4 pm with no breaks. thats 6 hours of track time for 12 cars, $550 might seem like a lot but think about how many times you will have to tow to the track to get that much track time, it will cost far more. Shane
  12. i dont think 90% of the people who step onto an ANDRA track realise you guys are volunteers. you certainly shouldn't be takign threats of violence and the like. those people should get a 1 year ban at least. i suppose when we see peopel in group one get less than a slap on the wrist for punching some one out at an event, yet a entry level person getting a year long ban for telling a track staff member to f off, it doesnt set a good example that the full force will be shown to those people who dont treat ANDRA and track staff with respect they should be given. any one who doesnt know Aaron should take the time to have a chat with him at the track. very helpful guy and an asset to sport compact racers. Shane
  13. never count out the big man in black betty. 5's will happen, he's a poofteinth off.
  14. the line in the sand has to be somewhere, and thats were it is. i cant see it changing, 11.00 is damn quick by anyones standards. the days of having a street car that runs low 11's or tens is long gooone. you simply cant have those cars without being defectable. the line has been drawn in the sand and people have to live with it, accept it and pay for it, or dont race. simple if we keep lowering the standards, next we will see big victor in his 57 running a 5 in a t shirt & double pluggers sipping a rum and coke. aint going to happen
  15. im waiting to see what ray does next year before i commit to cutting 900 pounds of weight out of it. still want to go mid 8's on the radial yet.
  16. exactly. i do agree licenses for UDL are pretty hefty now with the DRDF added on, and its going to get worse once i start racing group 2 ozmod, i hope that the increased television coverage helps get more sponsors, time will tell. at the end of the day if this is a sport you want to compete in at these tracks you have to pay the money or go race at heathcote. by the time you towe a car there an back from NSW theres the money for your UDL and you get a better track
  17. interesting points, if we all lived in a world where nothing goes wrong, then yea licenses, cages, harnesses, fire proof gear, its not needed. how many times do we see guys in late model cars hit the wall, not many, but it has happened. how many late model cars can drive through someone elses trans fluid they dropped on the last pass and hit the wall? doesn't matter a fugg whether your in a torana or a R34, if the car climbs the wall and barrell rolls on the section of car where the driver sits, your dead. ANDRA, the promoter, the entrant cant guarantee that an accident wont happen, that accident may be out of your control. And some times it wont matter if your sitting in a R35 GTR or a old torana, some accidents are going to have death or severe disability result. When that happens the same person on here pissing and whinging about having to have a harness or a roll cage or fire proof suit, will be praising the safety standards for saving them from having 3rd degree burns on their body, or being paralysed, or their parents whinging cause your dead and ANDRA didnt have enough safety in place. its there to save your ass, not just so ANDRA can sit back and laugh at you for spending money. i have personally seen TWOOGLE get go jacked pushed off the line with a line locker issue, i have driven through another competitors oil and gone wall to wall (lucky not to hit them) at half track 170 kmph. ive seen jacobsen get way out of shape at bigger MPH than that, not to mention a heap of other late model cars i have seen have issues at the track. now if i had hit the wall at 170 even in a late model car (same age as a R32 R33) if paul had an electical issue with his line lock at half track and hit the wall or jacobsen had hit the wall, we would have been it a whole world of trouble and i am sure would be glad we have the safety gear. Troy critchley and the local police also never thought an accident would happen, and look at the result there. accidents happen folks, doesnt matter if your peter brock or in a R35 GTR you can still still or get hurt. if you dont like the rules that are there for your and your competitors safety, dont park you ass in a car at an ANDRA track. sits back and waits for the flaming
  18. that MPH on its own is a huge achievement. congratulations mark.
  19. joe signorelli is driving a R35GTR is reserve grade too. racers better be on their A game. he can bracket race.
  20. id say theres a fair bit of head start in a match up with this guy, have you tried to send that number yet bud, it hasnt come through
  21. believe it or not, sport compact is bigger than skylines australia. you would go well in sport mod, most guys will red light waiting to come and hall you down, have seen heaps of guys do that. on a side note, can you pm me matt moores number, saw him whilst i was out crusing in the cressida in town on sunday but didnt have time to stop at talk. cheers
