  2. Name: Paul Born: 5/2/86 I drive a: White Cefiro I work as: iiNet Live in: Thornlie Cruise/event attendance rate: Not much. Hobbies: GF, Drifting, drinking with mates - the usual
  3. PM Sydneykid on the forums here, he will fat you up with swaybars specifically designed for the Cefiro. Fully adjustable front and rear, brand new - $219 each. I believe he or someone he knows owns the design and then they get whiteline to manufacture it. Thats why you cant go directly to whiteline coz there is no part number for it. Go see Sydneykid and he will get them made for you. And if any of yous have read the suspension part of the forums, you will know Sydneykid knows his stuff, known to pretty much make the best suspension kits for Skylines/Silvias/Cefiros
  4. Is this still available?? Very interested...
  5. I use to have an R31, I didnt think it was as simple for a brake upgrade on the R31 so I didnt bother. One thing that comes to mind is that you need the GTS1, GTS2, import R31 front struts as they are a fraction bit bigger, and then you can upgrade from their to R32/R33. But best to check on the R31 forums.
  6. no shit. Those bolts would be a pain. Ohh well, gives me something to do this weekend.
  7. Yes top notch work. Kermit did mine around 2 months ago, (just a little bit slow in getting it on here:P) Some pics of mine
  8. Hey guys, just as the titile says. Im doing a brake conversion, fronts are done but rears are being a pain. Dont normally do things cars but if its just nuts and bolts I usually figure things out as I go along. I have R34 spec calipers and rotors and using Just japs 5 stud hubs, Yes I have done endless hours of searching but none of the other threads never mentioned this being a problem. At the moment Im not too sure on how to get the rear hubs out. Picture to what I want off is here; http://members.iinet.net.au/~pjosephs/5Stu...ersion011ed.JPG (yes arrows might be pointing weird but you know what I want) Now Yes this may be a stupid question, but it doesnt seem to just want to pull off. I have tried with a fair bit of force but I didnt want to break anything just in case I have missed something. Is it just stuck on the bearing or what? I have looked at the back and can see a few bolts, Now which bolts if any are holding it in? I took a picture a few months ago http://members.iinet.net.au/~pjosephs/5Stu...ersion019ed.JPG These pics are a few months old so cant exactly remember how many there are or what not. I believe theres 4 of the red ones though. (I took these pics a few months ago so cant quite remember how many there were or what not.) Or do I just have to pull harder? Is there any hints/tricks to get these things off? Any Help would be much appreciated. Just want to get it done as driving around with mismatched rims isnt exactly a good idea Ive been lucky so far with the cops but dont want to push my luck. Cheers guys.
  9. That Kit is sexc Wonder kits are too out there. This is nice and sleek. Anyone know how much $ and where to get these from?
  10. And thats another grin on my face Picked up my car yesterday afternoon:D Sounds sooo sexc. Kermits work definately seems very professional. I will edit this post later and add some pics, hopefully be up over the weekend. Looks the goods, sounds the goods.
  11. Get we can some proper pics of the rims? Ive had a look at the link in your signature but theres no good pics of the rims. You can email pics to meanman[AT]hotmail[DOT]com (I hate spam)
  12. Hi Kermit I have a relatively stock Ceffy. (no where near as good as yours:P) My car is still RB20DET I am chasing after a full exaust. Dump pipe, front pipe, Race Cat replacement, 3" pipe, and a muffler. Are you able to supply and fit It all?? Ive been following you thread, and now im just confused. Do you do you make the dump, front pipes yet, or do I need to supply that myself? If you dont do the dump and front pipe yet what would you recommend to get? And where from? What muffler do you recommend? Im Performance orientated rather then noise, but obviously it needs to be louder just dont want it to be the loudest in Perth, Ive heard Kakimoto mufflers are fairly quiet. Do they still Flow well? Definately getting all this done fairly soon. I WANT MORE POWER:D
  13. Yeah but I live in perth. Welcome to the most remote place in the planet. Goint From Perth to East is dirt cheap as all the containers go back empty from trucks/trains. Anything East to Perth your paying a mint for as its all full (no spare room) Cost me $850 to get my car from Adelaide to Perth picked up from/dropped off door to door with insurance. Not sure with that one. Ive got no problems, yet to do the rear still. I just cant believe how those R34/R33 bakes are, they shit over shitty Silvia brakes. Hope you find and fix the problem though.
  14. Well sounds like most of you guys are mechanics or have access to workshops with a press so you can mess with the S14/R33 ball joints. But for the non technically minded (me) and the people that dont have access to a workshop (me) Try these little puppies for $550 from Just Jap, including front wheel bearings. http://www.justjap.com/forumhubspecial.htm All the information you could want is here http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/S13-and...50-t107311.html Just dont do what I did and buy R34 Calipers as they use bigger bolts. (I made them fit though ) More info on that here. (only if your bored) http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=139091
  15. Haha, yes Im retarded, posted it all up then realised its actually Cusco. My bad.
  16. No idea what type they were. Maybe this will help....http://members.iinet.net.au/~pjosephs/cusco/ No thats not my car, thats the car/guy I bought it off.
  17. You got to be careful though... I purchased s13 Tein coilovers, they were in my car for about a week before I ripped them out. Its highest settings was still too low. It had NO suspension travel on the front and very little in the rear. (Car just didnt become a pleasure to drive). I was bouncing everywhere couldnt hold the accelerator pedal in the right spot as any little bump would move the car up and down but my foot would stay in the same spot, and I was accelerating more for that half a second (if that makes sence) Slowing down for corners was the worst, any little bump on the road and the front tyres would lock up for half a second as it got so light over the front tyres, sometimes airborne over small bumps. So yeah, ive heard some people have no problems, other people have nothing but problems (like me) Im saving up for SK stuff, This is is what SydneyKid said ---------------------------- "The issue with Cefi's (like Silvias) is that they have MacPherson strut front ends, and Bilstein don't make a full replacement strut. However they do make an insert which fits into the standard strut leg. Bilstein shocks with Bilstein coil over conversions (hardened alloy threaded sleave and top & bottom spring seats) and Eibach (the best) springs. " ---------------------------- Does come at a price though, just over 2K so is fair bit expensive compared to the usual cheap coilovers but I dont want a super low car for the cops to pick on, nor do I want super hard spings that I get shakend up while I drive. I want good handling and everyone knows thats not the lowest or hardest. Basicly you get what you pay for....
  18. Im in for a ceffy cruise. Depends how work goes might have to leave early but sounds good. Just did 5 stud and R34 brakes front done, just got to do the rear. Looks cheap having different rims front to back, dont want to attract too much attention from the cops.
  19. Mines half done now, Drilled out the front to 13.5mm Closest drill bit we had in the garage and the 3 toolshops I went to didnt have 14mm drill bits. But did pick up the M14 X 40 bolt I was missing 1. Once drilled out to 13.5mm I just grabbed a file and started filling away untill the bolt fits through. (It was some special rounded file just fitted through the whole, couldnt believe my luck:D) R34 calipers now bolted on the front and f**k me does it pull up quick. Cefiros are obviously 4 stud, so did the 5 stud conversion at the same time so that the 5 stud rotors would fit and I get a better selection of mags latter on. Just using my brothers old standard R33 rims since hes upgraded his, works out quite perfectly. Got to do the rears soon. That shouldnt be anywhere near as bad as im sure the bolts on them are the same size. Got the 5 stud conversion off Just Jap, $500 R34 rotors/calipers, $700 (includes $200 for postage , NOTE BRAKES ARE HEAVY) So what was cheap worked out a little bit more. Standard rotors and standard brake pads, cant wait until they need replacing which is a perfect time to upgrade to Bendex ultimate and maybe some DBA rotors. One happy chappy here.
  20. Yeah might have to change the appointment from being just a wheel alignment to What the F is wrong. If its just silly stiff then thats screwed, cya later cusco. The faster I go over a bump the smoother it is so can assume when there is a HUGE ammount of force there is some movement but 2 people sitting on the bonnet and jumping up and down is NO WHERE near enough to move the front suspension. But like the problem is, is that when I jack the car up it takes like 3 pumps and the wheels are already off the ground, its not as if the wheel stays on the ground for a bit while the car goes up then the tyre goes up. As soon as the body is raised 1.5 inches the wheel is off the ground. So the clearence between the top of the tyre and the gurard at the top is the same when its jacked up (weight off) and jacked down (weight on) Either they are so frikin crazyily stiff or something is wrong. I will change my appointment for Tuesday from wheel alignment only to investigate it. Let the pros have a look and see what they say. But when they had a 5 min look at it they said it was not right and that there was no travel in the front suspension and to fix it it needs to be raised, Front now raised 10 mm but drives exactly the same.
  21. If its a stock LSD youll probably fine the back right will spin a fair bit more then your left. Seems normal to me. Just live with it or get hold of non directional tyres so you can swop back right to back left and vice versa.
  22. The pic isnt my car, its the previous owners. The front is raised as high as it can go ie the little red things are sitting at the highest point. Question is does this affect how hard the suspension is ... Harder, softer or the same. - I was under the impression that it doesnt make a difference of the height, the firmness/damper what ever you want to call it will be the same. The rear has some play, ie I can push down on the back of the car and it will move down a bit. But the front moves nothing. Any bumps on the road and the front does get airborne. Yes these are coilovers yes they should be firm but not this firm.... I find the faster I go the smoother the ride is as I assume the front then has some give but slow speeds is crazy. Im no expert but the suspension place said thats not normal and dangerous. ANy ideas? Let me know
  23. Hello peoples, Ok I bought coilovers the other day and I have never had a car with coilovers nor been in a car with them, so have nothing to compare them too. I bought 2nd hand Cusco coilovers, height adjustable all 4 and the rear are damper adjustable. First things first I have a Cefiro. I installed the suspension myself with a friend found it all right. I then took it for a test drive. It was VERY stiff. So stiff that the front gets airborne over big bumps and its quite concerning when braking during this time as the wheels lock up momentarily until they get weight back over the wheels. Front left wheel had fair bit of neg camber compared to the front and me being a newb don’t want to touch the camber tops just yet so I booked it in for a wheel alignment at a reputable performance suspension shop. They took one look at it and found that the front have NO suspension travel in the front, infact virtually the only travel is within the flex of the tyre. That would explain the crazy bumpiness. They guy couldn’t believe I was driving it, thought I was nuts... LOL I just assumed this was coilovers. Obviously not, I have a problem. The guy said the car needs to be raised... Which is unusual as the car was low but not crazy low or anything. The guy said to raise it 20mm at the front and around 10mm at the rear. He said he didn’t have time to organise that on the spot. So I agreed to take the car home and I would do it over the weekend. Then go back for that wheel alignment on Tuesday. I have now risen the front about 10mm at the front which is the HIGHEST it will go. But it feels exactly the same, still no travel. The suspension appears to be S13 spec which SHOULDNT be the problem. It should just sit a little bit lower as Cefiro struts I guess are higher if you know what I mean. I need HELP. The coilovers came out of a Ceffy before and im pretty sure he didn’t have any problems like this. Why is there no suspension travel? Just note I am a TOTAL newb so assume I have done everything wrong and post up what it could be and Ill tell you how/what I did. But to my knowledge I was under the impression that one of the advantages to coilovers is that you could lower it and you would still have full suspension travel? Ohh yeah and I’m hopping I have it the right way, this is a pic of the Rear suspension but NOT on my car, on the previous owners. But if you have a look at the red arrows am I correct here or is it the opposite? http://members.iinet.net.au/~pjosephs/cusco/car4a.JPG Any help much appreciated. But from my thoughts so far should have stuck with the SOFT 18 year old stock suspension until I could afford SK stuff. I just wanted the Cusco temporarily but bad idea at the moment.
  24. Russman did you do the rear aswell? or just the fronts?
  25. Havnt done anything have slacked off on this. My bad, did buy Cusco coilovers and fitted them fine:D Where did you get your 14mm drill bit? Where did you get your bolts from? im missing one.
