Living In And Around Wollongong?
No Crust Racing replied to No Crust Racing's topic in New South Wales
Good point. Specifically things that interest me. Employment Oppurtunities and pay rates, I'm guessing being a larger centre the pay rates are a bit higher but there is more competition. FYI I work in IT as a consultant and am looking to move into project management roles/team leadership etc. Missus hasbeen a property manager for 10yrs but is looking to move out of this field, perhaps HR or something. Cost of living interest me Events/nightlife interests me Access to good quality food REALLY interests me, and when I say that I mean being able to go out for a meal and eat some awesome stuff. Public transport is important also And again if anyone has some insight into what the hay fever season is like that's also very important. -
Living In And Around Wollongong?
No Crust Racing replied to No Crust Racing's topic in New South Wales
Yeah we looked around at some of the palces out of town so to speak and the rents were much more reasonable. that's onep art of the puzzle but what's the area like? -
Hey guys, in the next year or two the missus and I will be looking to get out of here (Albury/Wodonga) and we like much of the NSW coast. We've spent some time up around Coffs/Sawtell/Kempsey etc and the climate is quite nice and the lack of hay fever suits as both quite well. The downside to going that far north is SFA in the way of racetrack access unless I wanna drive over 4hrs each way, whereas here winton is an hour down the road. This led me to look at race tracks first then locations second lol This then led me to the Wollongong area of coast as there's Wakefield, Oran Park, and Eastern Creek all within about 1-2hours. This of course made me flip my shit and get excited about being within range of 3 different tracks. More important than that though is what it's like living along that area of coast and/or in Wollongong. We had a bit of a look last night and it seems real estate is quite expensive and that average temperatures are a bit more what we're looking for rather than the plus 40's we get here some days through summer. What's the hayfever season like up that way? I know it sounds a bit off but the missus suffers badley and I do a bit also but to a lesser extent. I'd like to hear from some people living in or around Wollongong and tell me what you think, what's good what sucks and if you'd go there again etc etc. Give me an impression of the place. We're keen to come take a look around over a short holiday or something but I'd like to hear from people who are living there now. Cheers Dan

Wii Key V1.2 was what I bought, has the 1.3 Firmware on it though. Plays everything with the exception of SMash Bros Brawl which appears to be the hardest game to get working cracked due to being dual layer. Talk to OzMod Chip there is a solution for EVERY Wii You might just have to buy the WODE instead (Woo Optical Drive Emulator) that has mega advantages over standard mod chips anyway.

Competitive Street/track R33 Gtr
No Crust Racing replied to HKS26T's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
I'm not in the business of commenting when I'm not going to buy, but WOW! You can have my road reg'd but track modded S13 and my BA Fairmont for it if you like Good luck with the sale mate, that is manic. -
Good question, I've only played a handful of games, Motor Storm pacific rift was awesome. The Force Unleashed looked amazing on PS3 (but dare I say was more fun to play on Wii?) Hmm... why can't the Wii be a bit more powerful and not look like trash.

Hey guys, I've currently got a modded Wii with about 20 games, two controllers/nunchucks, rechargable batteries and a modded original Xbox with about 5-6games, two controllers, 40GB HDD and XBMC installed. I'm wondering if it's worth selling off both of those and getting a PS3. The pro's I see are way better visuals, blu-ray player, and of course the ability to record TV easily. Downsides are no more super duper cheap/free games and the Wii seems to be popular amongst the drinkers when we have a get together. GF even plays it and she's not a gamer. Hmm..

Hi guys, I'm starting to get ready for an upcoming move and in doing so and clearing out the cupboards. All of this stuff was tested when I got it but hasn't been since, you can make offers appropriately. What doesn't sell gets binned and I'm not looking for mega dollars - make me an offer. Freight will be at your expense but I do make an effort to use my own packaging and keep costs down. Pickup is fine if you're around Albury Wodonga 1x HP ML310 Proliant Server, Completely intact and currently running with a blank install of SBS 2003 (a license for this is attached to the case so it's legit). Case is missing side panel. 2.8GHz P4 with about a 1GB of ECC RAM, might be 768MB, can't remember. At the moment it's running on an 80GB IDE drive which you can have too, but originally came with 2x 36GB SCSI drives in a mirror and I have both of those as well and they are fine. Has standard optical drive. $50 You can add some stuff from below too if you like as the REV drive was originally part of it. 2x Asus A8N-E Ultra Mainboards (Socket 939 for AMD), one was suspect and the other was a refurb bought to replace it, in the CPU was the problem (which was binned) so these are useless now as I built another PC. $50 for both, includes on box and a bunch of cables etc. The refurd cost me $100 and I am scared to think what the other one cost me new back in the day. 1x 17" Acer LCD in Black. Occassionally goes pink but a light squeeze of the bezel near the top fixes it, I imagine this is a simple fix for someone who knows how. $20? 1x Altec Lansing Quadrophonic speakers and Sub. These are working and were replaced with better units that matched my stuff better colour wise. These are grey. Only proble is the power pack is a bit cracked, it was wrapped in elec tape and had no issues. $20 2x Optical drives, one black face hitachi/LG cd-rom and one grey face diamond data CD-RW 40x both are idea $10 for both? 1x Black face Iomega REV drive 35GB no tapes though. Includes grey 5.25" bay convertor. IDE. $10? 1x PCI Ethernet Card in box, Planet branded but has a realtek chipset on it. $5 2x PCI Internal Modems, one is definitely 56k and is a brand new netcomm still in shrink wrap, other is unknown $5 for both? 1x ATI Rage 128 Video Card $5? 1x SMC USB to Ethernet Convertor in box $5? As I said open to offers on it all, bundle it up and make up a price I just want it gone so it'll get thrown out soon enough if it's not sold off. Any questions or requst for pics let me know.

I always like watching in car footage What's done to the car? She looks like a bit of a handful in some spots, but having said that I've never driven PI. It looks like you're really wide on a few of the corners, but again that is probably my lack of knowledge of that circuit. Respect for putting up footage of yourself You're a bit calmer when you have an off than I am, I get Tourettes syndrome.

Morning Gents and others... I'm looking to relocate the batter to the boot in the S13 track warrior and I'm wondering what the ruling is on a battery in the boot when there is no partition between the boot and the cabin, as the rear of the car is stripped. It's a standard Calcium hybrid battery, with vent holes in the little plugs where you can top up the distilled water if necessary. In my head I think you have to have it fully sealed in the boot but with some ventilation to outside of the car, does this sound right and if so how have others done this. Cheers

By this point Kez you must have noticed that there are some very clear pros and cons to both sides of the equation. I've done both and for me and what I want from track days and the car, a dedicated car was a better choice. When I had the GTST and then the GT-R (both streeters) the compromise of needing the car for work (and I actually used my car for work not just getting to and from work) meant I had to make big compromises in setup, mods, legality, safety, noise etc. Don't get me wrong, I loved having them both as daily drivers but the cost of maintenance and the above compromises made me move on. I was also a bit of a knob and lost a stack of points on my license and paid a few bucks in fines, that's another topic though, my point is just that there was more temptation for me, you might be more mature than I was at that age, it wouldn't be hard I opted for a pretty cheap track car and a reasonable daily. So the BA makes a great work car and tows the S13 with ease and the S13 can be driven as hard as I want (though I tend to be cautious "most" of the time - broken stuff costs $$) and I don't have to worry about getting it home or getting to work on Monday. I also don't have issues if parts are out of stock, take ages to ship or I need to save funds before I can fix something. It just sits there and gets started from time to time. Further more, My particular track car has remained street reg'd, no way is it legal but I can get away with driving to and from workshops as required which avoids the issue Dane was mentioning. This is the case because I bought a stockish reg'd car and built it up myself, which is heaps more expensive I might add. You can do that too living in Vic where we don't need yearly RWC. Buying a dedicated and built un-reg'd S13 or 14 is great value, but I bought my car to build and learn myself and I also love being able to drive it around the block or to a workshop as required - I just ditch the semis and big spoiler. In the end, you have to work out what is best for your current situation and financial capabilities. Keeping your supra, doing some basic work and having some fun at the track is the cheapest way - big accidents and part failure aside - but it's also a compromise on performance the whole "drive it home/to work" issue. That said you will still learn a heap in a Supra at the track without big power. Even driving my BA around has taught me a few things because it's so big and heavy. It's important to know what you can afford to spend before you can make a clear decision, it's also important to have some idea of what you want from your track adventures. Some guys are out just for the fun of it and some are out to be a bit more competitive, get times/drift better, and develope the car. Both are valid reasons to be at the track but each can be achevied in different ways. Good luck
