  1. having been in a few crashes in my time I can tell you now that when it comes to the police and insurance companied laying blame speed won't be factored into it. It all comes down to who should of given way, and in this instance its the rolla that shouldn't of been doing the 3 point turn.
  2. I stand corrected guys, sorry about that. But I still stand by the point of spending time money on a turbo thats fairly old, will properly need rebuilding down the track and has a ceramic wheel or worse.
  3. why not just go for a garrett gt28rs disco potatoe (bolt on turbo) great unit and spools up great you won't be dissapointed, and on the upside can be had for $1500, I can't see why you would really go for a VG30 turbo when you normally have 2 of them pushing 3 litres its not much of an upgrade with of the hassles of putting it on and so on I would go the extra distance and put something worth while on there even an S15 turbo GT28R both turbo's are roller bearing steel compressor turbo's that will have heaps of headroom for some upgrades down the track.
  4. Just some facts having owned one myself, turbo's can be swapped without the engine being taken out if u have a hoist (disco Garrett disco potatoe's bolt straight on) but you will max out injector at around 18psi which makes it expencive getting some good injectors I had blitz 880's which were $1300. Internals are strong as are the gearboxes and diff's R200 diff and box is the same one used in the r33's, the breaks are good even better with some slotter slightly bigger rotors on there and if you do the exhaust (twin system) you'll be laughing. The intake plenum is good for quite some HP but you can do a single plenum aka z33 topsecret style and go big single TB (90mm) the stock brick intercoolers are also pretty decent but you might want to do a nice front mount if you want one. But having said all this I'm now in a 32 but would like to get another 300zx for cruising, not huge numbers or anything like that just a daily driver that can handle a good squirt every now and then.
  5. You can't just move the mounting points further backwards, you need to fabricate a mounting plate the rails will go to the plate and the plate will bolt to the seat, you can get a couple of inches here easilly without too much trouble but I wouldn't go past 15cm. You will need this engineered as well.
  6. Thanks for the heads up, I was mainly asking because I was thinking of chucking the power fc on before the conversion to have a play and get used to it. (might not be the best idea but I don't think it could hurt)
  7. why not just get a 300kph speedo, makes things a little easier sepecially if you go after market ecu
  8. If your worried about pumping your tyres back up bazr33 why not get one of those cheap compressor's especially designed to do just what you want it to do.
  9. I would have to put my hand up for 101 as well, i havn't heard a bad thing about them and have seen a lot of cars with very happy customers come out of there (used to work next door to them)
  10. These are the specs of your pump below, now why are you buying one of these at $290 US when you can buy a bosh or walbro pump that will give you close to the same sort of power I think the walbro in tank supports up to around 450kw (could be wrong on that figure) sorry to be so negative but it just seems like there is a lot of better options locally and for less money. Specs:- For carbureted powerplants making up to 1200 HP and fuel injected engines: up to 700 HP - forced air induction up to 1000 HP - naturally aspirated up to 1200 HP - carbureted systems at the track, on the street, and in the water.
  11. Usually you have your standard in tank fuel pump feeding fuel into your surge tang and then have your external fuel pump pumping fuel from your surge tank to fuel trail (existing fuel lines)
  12. I was just wondering what the woring differences were between the N/A and turbo models of R32 I've got a N/A that's going to get a new engine in the new year but was wondering if the harness will have to be changed as well.
  13. No it wont damage anything, if anything it will help you and be good for the car (remapping to your driving style)
  14. 8 grand sounds a little too cheap when you look at the price of most other skylines (r32) in the trading post are around the $12-$16K mark, I would have to be leaning towards that its not complied or failed compliance at some stage
