Rb25 Replacement Turbo? High Flow?
conan7772 replied to sriver killer's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I had a high flow on an RB25/30 and it maxed out on 17psi. Pushed out 284 rwkw ,974 Nm of torque and full boost at 2800 rpm. Brutal instant power, nasty wheel spin in 1st and 2nd. Don't know who flowed it though as I bought the car with it already on. Got 60,000 km's out of it. Before I did my engine rebuild my RB25 was stock , all but FMIC, Haltech ECU , 500 hp fuel pump and the high flow. It had 247 fwkw or 190rwkw. Gotrice is bang on with what's needed though my injectors were stock, but my fuel pressure was high (70 psi ) flat out. -

Check out ATPturbo.com home page , scroll right down and look at the GT3076R-WG 0.70 comp 52 Trim 0.86 rear You may have this configuration, sounds like a pretty damn good street turbo. Quick spool 500 hp . -

Found it. The 0.86 rear is an ATP set up with the 90 trim GT3071 turbine. They call it the GT3076R-WG 500hp -

Surge can happen under load yes but mainly off throttle. I wonder why six cylinders are more prone than fours Anyway... Hence the need to stay with the Garrett 0.82 rear -

Beauty, if that's true. That's exactly what I originally ordered. Apparently the slots reduce high rpm efficiency. Anyway , a properly fitted and quality BOV does the job. I wonder if HKS will follow. -

conan7772 replied to conan7772's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeah you're right, and the 0.86 has a 3.5mm smaller turbine wheel. Might be a bad flow match for the 76mm comp wheel. This is where I'm afraid because of the back orders, suppliers are selling whatever they can to keep sales up whilst the next containers arrive. Maybe... -

Conflicting Gt3076r Specs, Please Help
conan7772 replied to conan7772's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
No, I'll need a new dump pipe anyway. I just strictly want the genuine Garrett turbine WITHOUT any machining and/or cropping merely to merit a re-badge. As far as I can see, HKS are the only ones worthy of this, but hey you gotta pay for it. Anyway, most of the custom rears were designed for 4 cylinder aps, trying to find good middle ground. My setup is the RB25/30 pushing 284rwkw with a high-flow (now blown), 256 poncams, 555 cc injectors, Haltech s2000, plazmaman 70mm TB and custom fuel rail. From all the threads I've read, consistent problems arise with custom modified hot sides on the six cylinders. Boost creep, boost spike, boost drop, unmatched flow etc. Most distributors are now supplying the 0.70 AR comp with the GT3076R according to their charts except GCG. I know there's currently a huge demand and back order on these popular models. I'm assuming some suppliers put together their own configs just to keep sales going out the door. I may be wrong. Anyway, I'm staying with what the threads have illustrated, Garrett unmodified turbine. 0.70 comp might be better with the RB30 and cams. Should get over 330 rwkw. But I'd still prefer the 0.60 for me, after the high flow at full boost at 2800 rpm, and 974 Nm of torque, that's power on demand! -

conan7772 replied to conan7772's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Strange. Horse power in a box don't do the 0.6 comp with 0.82 rear in 56 trim. Check out the turbo charts. Another US distibutor was the same. Can't seem to get the genuine Garrett package anywhere. Maybe due to back log ? ANyone know ? Cheers. -
I've just ordered a GT3076r for an RB25/30 Comp 0.6A/R Trim 56 Turbine 0.82A/R Recently been advised this configuation isn't available, only with a 0.86 A/R rear. Who makes the 0.86 ? If I strictly want the 0.82 rear then trim has to be 52 and Comp cover either 0.5 or 0.7 A/R. Can anyone please confirm these specs are correct. Cheers.

Tyres you use(d) and how u would rate them
conan7772 replied to ZigenGT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hankook Ventus K104 235/40/17 255/40/17 $860 fitted to R33 gts-t rb30 284 rwkw 947nm (bloody high-flow) Don't really like them. Straight line traction not too good, I know, (too much torque) 1st and 2nd forget it, 3rd so-so Huge difference when hot or cold. Feel stable at high speeds, good under brakes. Hang on ok around corners after 4 laps at Oran Park but too much side wall flex. Feel a little squirmy when hot. 6/10 -
Running In A Turbo & Results - Gt3076

G'day, That's a huge throttle body, you need more air flow to make it work. What turbo do you have ?

Upgrading Turbo Gt3076r Tweakit Kits Anygood?
conan7772 replied to boostn0199's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
the 0.71 is a milled housing and cropped turbine. Personally I want to leave everything at Garrett specs, so I've chosen the 0.82. I think the 0.71 was designed for the GT3071 for 4 cylinder applications. -
You might be right about HKS being better but I managed 284rwkw with a high flow on an RB25/30. Check out the manifold pressure graph on my dyno result.(RB30 Hybrid upgrade results) post #70 Spooled up too quick, had to turn it way down in 1st and 2nd gear because of wheel spin. I reckon the high flow T28 is comparible to a GT3071/0.63 AR, both rated at 450hp. Also got 60,000 plus kms out of it, blew last week...

Anyone Have A 0.71 Ar Rear On Their Gt3076 ?
conan7772 replied to conan7772's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Who does the 0.71 ? -
Just about to order the GT3076 for an RB25/30 and uncertain bewteen the 0.71 and the 0.82 AR I don't know who mills the 0.71 and if it has boost creep or drop issues. Also, disco reckons the 52 trim is a little more forgiving on delivery and is probably right. Uncertain between the 52 and 56 but don't want to lower the potential of the 3076 for the track. Traction is already a huge problem for me with a stock hi-flow and Hankook RS2's. Is the port shrouded snout worth waiting for, cause I can get one without quicker. Any help much appreciated. Cheers.

18" Black Rims With Chrome Dish
conan7772 replied to Stunn-R's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Hi mate, Do you know what compound are the Kuhmo's. Cheers -
Still on my car but up for grabs High flowed stock T28 with a T3 flange. Hitachi OP6 Internals : 500 hp bb core Steel turbines, 56 inducer comp wheel, exhaust turbine size unknown. Pics on page 157 on RB30 Conversion thread, post 3137 Manifold pressure maps below on attachment. Currently holding 18 psi with a plazmaman plenum. Pushing 284.8 rwkw on a RB25/30. AWESOME response, just look at the graph. FULL BOOST AT 2900 RPM. Had to back off boost substantially in 1st and 2nd due to severe wheelspin. Turbo's had around 60,000 km or 8 years since rebuild. Only used once for track so far. Make an offer. PM or Email to : [email protected]

Rb30 Hybrid Upgrade, All Dyno Results
conan7772 replied to R31Nismoid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
25/30 + high flow As before (post 70) but, New Haltech Sport 2000 installed. Full sequential ignition. Cross over induction removed. Front faceing Plazmaman plenum and 72mm throttle body. Engine now quite louder, sounds angry through the plenum. Gained an extra 11.4 kw and 3 N.M. torque. Now 284 rwkw and 974 Nm. Had to turn down boost in 1st and 2nd. Turbo hits too quick and hard. 3rd gear is outstanding. Get to 4000 rpm, cams start to work, brutal. Here's the absolute limit of a high flow T28
