  1. Update.... another 3k later car is fixed been running smooth past month. Also done rego etc. Not actively looking to sell but would consider offers $10k.
  2. lol you reckon? p.s. those are pisser quotes. gold.
  3. Yeah for sure looks like thats what i'll do as time is running out before i go overseas for a trip which is my dead line to sell/fix. Happy to get it fixed and put back up for sale later on (it's a much better bargain right now though). Only reason thrown up for sale as i mentioned is i just don't use/need it so thought maybe a buyer out there who wanted a steal since the cost to fix it mostly the labor.
  4. Haha cheers mate! well if it doesnt sell in next 2 weeks then i might put it back up for sale later in the year (but higher price since i would of forked out to fix the engine issue).
  5. A stack of tire kicking lonely blokes wanting to chat it seens (and silly offers/trades). If car isn't sold in the next week or so im gonna fix and keep it. Too good a car to give away, can't believe it hasn't been snapped up its a crazy bargain.
  6. 1996 R33 GTS-T Series 2 Silver When the car battery goes flat a few times over a few years, you have to replace the battery etc. due to lack of use you know the time has come to bite the bullet and let the girl go. I have owned this car for near on 10 years, imported into Aus and single owner of it here. It has had a very quiet life living on an acreage for 2 years then in a basement for the next 7 odd, never raced, rarely even driven with gusto. Been the most reliable car i've ever had. For 90% of the time i have owned it was only used on weekends as not long after i got it i moved close to work and train line so its had a boring life ever since. First things first let me be explicitly clear. I think it has a buggered head gasket (oil/similar in radiator overflow). Noticed it just before christmas after having gotten a new radiator and other stuff in November. Only drove it half a dozen times before realizing and only driven it briefly to charge battery once a week the past few weeks. Car still drives perfectly fine otherwise, it came as a shock. Anyway. Other than the radiator oil/whatever in overflow i cannot find any other symptoms, no smoke or loss of coolant etc. But something is a miss. She that shall go without name has reiterated many times the car is wasted on me these days and i must finally admit she is right. I rarely use it, i don't need it, it deserves a more active home (and i suppose "she" then gets to use the car space..). So with that said i have a firm asking price of $6,500 which is think is very good value especially if you're mechanically inclined to fix whatever the issue is above. The car would be a great daily, weekender toy, or track car. Details as follows: 154k on speedo (genuine, had around 80k when i imported it i think)Stock turbo running at 10psi (never higher)FMIC (cooler pro or some such brand cant remember)Apexi Power FC + hand controller (have stock ECU also)Apexi Pod Filter + aluminium boxApexi boost gaugeAftermarket alarm system + immobilizerBilstein shocksWhiteline springs18" wheels (dishy starcorp ones, they are well scuffed from time on acreage but hey you'd probably wanna swap them anyway...)Full 3" exhaust from split/dump (relatively quiet). Exhaust was a kakamoto from Japan i think, splitter/dump was done here.Window tintingNismo leather gearnob300kph aftermarket dials with blue SMDs (looks great i reckon)Replaced front headlights new enclosures (over $1k genuine) so look fantastic, using OSRAM nightbreaker bulbs + matching parkers as shown in picPioneer headunit installed last year with bluetooth + Polk Audio front door speakers + sound deadening in doors Momo tyres x 4 installed 2016 Rego until late March 2017 Also in Nov '16 spent over $2k replacing- New RDA disc rotors x 4- New Intima Pads x 4 - New Alloy radiator + piping + Thermostat Interior is in pretty good condition for age. Leather steering wheel is worn thats about it the rest is all pretty good! Also can include a replacement illuminated rear SKYLINE garnish (never had it fitted). Also can throw in the old rotors+pads if wanted. Pads still had some life in them and rotors should be OK if machined (i think?).Car was serviced every year before rego/pink slip. Originally at powerplay imports, then north shore automotive, then quixspede. Number plates come with car are semi-custom i like $150 a year or something maybe less but you can just get rid of them and get normal ones. I probably should have before now haha. The car has a few what i consider minor dings and marks that come with age, and a scratch and crack on the front spoiler lip, thought all could be fixed and touched up quite easily. Happy to give details if anyone genuinely interested. Please msg here or SMS 0404 949 424 if genuinely interested. No trades. Located near Chatswood NSW.
  7. Thanks Sam. Radiator is brand spankin new alloy one from November as i mentioned above. I'll give Billtech a call though cheers.
  8. G'day Tom. Not yet. I'll buy some clear hose from bunnings shortly and siphon it out best i can. But the car did overheat a few months ago with steam and water bubbling out of the overflow (was highway driving and didnt notice until pulled over at servo for fuel after an hour, viscous coupling was buggered maybe thermostat too so the fan was doing bugger all). Have since replaced the thermo, piping, radiator, and viscous coupling and temp been good ever since i suspect the high temps that day may have done some nasties. When they did that work replacing those bits etc. afterwards the overflow seems to have gradually filled with the muck. The coolant is at the expected full line then this muck goes from there all the way to the top of overflow now. Only drove the car maybe 5-6 over a 5 week period totaling 4 hours between when that work was done and when i noticed this 2 weeks ago.
  9. Reputable workshop for R33 in inner Syd (suspected head/gasket issue) G'day all i have a suspected buggered head gasket/head (no exhaust smoke and drives smooth but heaps of milkshake crap on top of radiator overflow, exhaust emissions leak?) and am looking to get a few quotes to fix her up. Bastard of a job i know. I'm located near chatswood so somewhere within inner sydney be ideal. A lot of workshops never touch skylines so am looking for one reputable and experienced with them... and of course, not overly expensive. Car is for sale atm looking for $6k+ (a bargain i reckon) as is so if i get it fixed up i'll just add the cost on to the sale price.
  10. Oh my haha, I never said they did not know or were not willing to lookup the stats for how much can be machined - just that they did not know off hand (it was afternoon, they were happy to find out but they would of needed to get done overnight, i needed car back same day, and i had them machined once before so not that confident in doing it again, no idea how much they took off last time). I quite clearly did NOT say i want to cheap out on brakes. Come on. I said cheaper than the slotted or whatever ones were at Kudo, which i have no need for, but still reputable quality. If that is the base model RDA for my car thats cool.... thats all you had to say I have some Intima pads i bought on here a year or so ago ready to go on the car but I have been out of the scene for many, many years now, and am not familiar with what the options are wrt to brands, models, or even where to buy so just asking the community for assistance to keep a Skyline on the road.
  11. Hi Gents, My breaks are squeaking quite a lot at low speed and have since i put on the HPX pads 5 years ago (car gets very little use). I rarely drive the car so and read online it was not uncommon for the pads so never really thought much of it other than being occasionally annoyed. Anyhow i put the car for a service with some new pads (Intima) to put on and they said the discs are pretty scratched/skuffed up and expect they would make same noise regardless of whether i swap the pads over. So, for now, i'll just leave the same HPX ones on. Now, when i had the HPX pads put on years ago i had the discs machined at the time. The workshop (different one but have looked after my car the past few years) at the moment do not usually work on old skylines (R33 S2) and are unsure how much my discs can be machined. They would need to send them off to get done too. Can anyone advise on what the minimum dimensions? And also what i should expect the cost for having them machined? The obvious alternative being buy new rotors i guess, though, for a car i only use on the weekend spending $750 on new rotors (http://www.kudosmotorsports.com/catalog/braking-c-21_22_26_65_515.html) is not really something i want to do if can be avoided. Is there cheaper but quality alternatives i should consider given car only gets light use and very rarely heavy breaking? Advice please? Other options i should consider? Cheers Rob
  12. I read the policy booklet and i did not see it written anywhere that you had to have a primary car. Only that you do not use it regularly for work, shopping, do under 8k KMs etc, which i EASILY meet.
