  1. Another rim change? Haha, you change rims like I change socks! Looks tuff though I like them wheels. But I assume you will lip the gaurds before you drive it on the road?
  2. +1!! But if the r35 was in that montage it would be ok too cause I think it looks awesome! And it is an r35 so it is related to the r32, r33 & r34 despite not carrying the "skyline" name.
  3. Cheers
  4. At the carwash on the weekend:
  5. Hey guys, thanks for the replies. Despite my efforts my friend seems set on a bore-olla (aka corolla) and prefers a 4 door. But the are a good car. Mods, feel free to shut this thread down.
  6. Yeah, but its an SR20DE (not SR20DET) so its a non-turbo sr20. And she is only looking at auto's. So as long as it is in good nik and my mechanic verifies this I will be happy. And I know that they are generally a good engine and as long as you service them they go for ages.
  7. Cheer mate, thanks for your input. I know that its not going to be the safest car out there but ABS I deff saw as a plus, cause I know ABS has saved me once from hitting an idiot that pulled out infront of me in the wet without looking. But a more modern car with airbags and better bracing etc would be a better option, no question. Hopefully it wont be too long till she can afford to upgrade to sumthing like that. But as for the engine, I would be VERY interested to see what bryyy was laughin at in respect to the sr20! I have seen the det version with stock internals hold big power and they do have a reputation for being "bulletproof". So I would love to understand how that is not the case?
  8. ^ The corolla of the same age faired no better. However, the NX has ABS unlike the Toyota so that puts it at a slight advantage in my book. Any car of that age is not going to rate well on a safety rating system in comparison to a modern car that has advanced crumple zones, multiple airbags, stability control etc etc.. With a budget of $4-5k you cant expect much unfortunately.
  9. ^ Is that just your opinion that it will crumple and offer no crash protection? Or have you viewed ANCAP testing or something? ^^ And bryyy, are you implying that sr20's are not strong?
  10. Yeah one that I had seen was an NXR which comes with ABS from my understanding which is a plus! So I think its deff worth gettin the NXR cause there is essentially no diff in price. But I will have a close look at the rubbers on the targe top. Shame she has to have an auto though which is a shame...
  11. ^^ Yeah its typical review by Clarkson. He has to find fault in everythin, even if the fault is one of its stand out features - the fact that it has effortless yet brutal performance and goes where you want with ease. Most ppl complain about what a car can't do, and Jeremy has complained about the fact its does things too well, haha. For example I watched the top gear ep on sbs last night and he said he would take some really old POS classic Ferrari over the 599 GTB (which has enzo engine).... its times like this his old & eccentric views can be pointless and annoying.
  12. I know someone looking for her first car (around the $4-5k mark), and while initially I thought the mighty corolla, I thought I would see if there are any other cars with slightly more personality while still being reasonably economical and reliable. Then I came up with the Nissan NX which has an SR20DE which I know to be a very strong engine but I was wondering if anyone could tell me more about the car? Be very interested to hear from someone who has driven/owned one. Cheers
  13. Yeah I was working there last week for a client, but its not my workplace.
  14. Just saw countless cars at the start of the Eastlink freeway, one of which was a Ferrari F40!
  15. Think that may be me. I have been workin there for this week. On Wellington rd ya? I haven't seen many other lines around the area though...
  16. i reckon the xd9's but I like Work wheels a fair bit so a bit biased ... 57's are pretty sweet too!
  17. Black R32, going up Kings way bout 15mins ago (1:30). Looked clean!
  18. hrmm, cars that came in under 15 year rule dont have to comply with many rules that cars that came in under normal compliance do...
  19. I was luckier still, my car has no side indicators and the seatbelt holder thing still in (personal import) But for normal compliance they have to break that seatbelt holder thing as they have to change to Aus seatbelts.. mine still has the Jap ones in it.
  20. ^^ What are you guys talking about. Side gaurd indicators are installed in Australia as part of compliance. No R32 from factory came with indicators. Some compliance places in Aus could get away with not installing the indicators as it was all dependent on how you interpreted the ADR specific to visiblity of indicators others installed them. So its a bit of a luck of the draw.
  21. ^^ You can say that (it being slower than an r35 GTR) about a Ferrari F430, Porsche 911 Turbo, Lamborghini Gallardo.....
  22. up to $170k for a Holden... WOW! That is testament to how blind love can be!
  23. sweet! At least the 32 is gtr
  24. ^^ Now that guy is sneaker pimpin' fresh!!.... No Doubt!
  25. That was my mates and I. Grey 32 is gts-t. Nice day, glad we took advantage of it!
