  1. 18's..... they will still look big.. absorb the bumps better.. tires will be cheaper
  2. yeah some gtr owners over fill their oil slightly when going to the track or very spirited runs... but this place where i had it done was no workshop... more cosmetic... so i think they just stuffed up... done the work.... drained out an excess 900 ml's.... thats f**ked...... way too much overfill (sitting perfectly on high now) hope it hasnt caused any permenant damage the car seems to be happier on idle and boost.... so horah! cheers guys
  3. thanks got the jack out already guess now is the right time to drain the excess out!
  4. hey all i while back i had an oil cooler fitted and i gave them the correct type of oil to top it up once the oil cooler and lines filled with oil.. now my question is they over filled it to a good 4 mm above high.... should i drain some out or will excess oil do damage? engine masters please help thanks in advance jenkies engine is rb26dett reletively stock appart from pfc

  10. i second this..... they are a cheepo but flow and filtration is much better than the over priced jap "brand name filters" i dont have one but the tests have prooved that these are tops do a search, a while back in a thread bout filters i posted up a huge comparison of common filters 11 or so with flow rates and filtration rates
  11. forza ffs... it made my box wet...... i dont have a box but if i did it would be spilling juices

  14. hell yeah rob... looking forward to that hills run with ya mate.. counting down the days gorge rd and chain of ponds.... i dont care if we putt along 10 kms under the speed limit.... it will be awesome! been working on it every weekend getting every small detail fixed or restored..... awaiting the inevitable return of liscence! e.g. even brought new air con ducts cos the old ones were a teency bit broke. new leather inside aswell.... omg im getting all amped up just thinking bout it u doin well mate? ahh thanks steve..... i dont need to tell u what happened on the sau photo shoot...... all i can say is my poor baby brass button clutch and auto driver = boo boo:(
  15. firstly welcome to sau... and firstly again CONGRATULATIONS! welcome to the club of opening your beer 5 meters away from your car and facing the front bonnet... holding up your beer to the car and saying cheers ..... u will be doing it for the next 2 months...... u will talk to her an develope a deep bond..... i know i did when i purchased my immaculate r32 gtr 6 months ago. there is something about a gtr that pulls you in and you will quickly develope more respect for this car than you ever thought possible and it will keep exceeding your expectations... especially through the twisties (hills) ontop of that your beast is absolutely stunning.... a real eye brow raiser! good luck with her and welcome to the empty wallet club....... LET THE MODDING BEGIN! all the best jenkies
  16. ^^^^^ what iceberg said i did all the checks all fluids all the rest... and poor maintenance was the case.. 3,500 to get it up to scratch... but the fact motor idled dead quiet no smoke, lining up km's (not rewound) and stuffed clutch i still bought it and did an extreme 100'000 km survice even though it had only done 80'000 km... plus upgrades its been perfect ever since plus it only came into australia 7 months ago just out of curiosity what are you buying?
  17. just a question on your question.. WHAT THE F**K!!! how did ur synchros even manage to get it into second?? from thurd?? lucky it diddnt shit itself there and then auto would deal with this altho a manual well different story the amount of load put on your engine and driveline would be like a cop pulling ur arm behind your back till it snapped... if nothing is wrong then all the best and good luck
  18. wow totally speachless.... id give my left nut just to see a silvia of this calibur and this repected and built by its owner.... style all round!! u will be getting a tonne of trophies with this car!!

  20. could ahve sworn i spotted ya vinnie goin down main north east road at 9:30 or so towards paradise mazda..... if not spoted a black r32 just like vinnies
  21. wow.... altho if we do keep careful this will not apply to us... there are tracks here and there for the silly stuff..... maybe with the tightning of all the street laws lately sau should take a stronger stance on anti hooning..... get it known public that sau is the anti hooning club.... i know it sounds radical but every sau event ive been to everyone respects the law and keeps it safe not drawing attention to ourselves..... dont mean to be a grandpa here.. i used to be a hell raser on the roads and am so ashamed of it now after a suspended liscence and complete change of life style for over a year.... just an idea.... ideas would be appreciated
  22. yeah ive heard that boost works are intense..just havnt needed anything serious done lately, recon ill try them out when i need to... from recolection u guys had a dyno day down there recently... couldnt come... no driver and as for the spoon drains sideways... yaaa when i do get the urge to go for a drive im in secluded back streets so i take it around the block just to keep the oil circulating g box and diff's and ive got one around the corner where front right and rear left wheels are off the ground gotta love stiff suspension and chassis... makes for careful driving
  23. 12.48 if u run it in 4wd thats my guess 275's great traction trip plate clutch= negative on the clutch slip if uve got 4wd use it bud and u will clean up
