Alkatraz, do you have any idea how much it would cost to order just 1 replacement brushed Aluminium grab door handle (inside), for a V36? Thanks Year I have a V36 with 150,000 genuine kms on the clock (confirmed by JOC), and the interior is absolutely immaculate (not a mark on the steering wheel or anything for that matter). The only thing that's worn is the grab door handle (inside) on the drivers side. So I'd like to replace that. Apart from that nothing else the whole car is immaculate. Any suggestions to where to get a grab door handle (inside), would be much appreciated. Thanks Paul

If your prepared to go the new Enkei option I'd suggest suggest go to Tire Rack in the USA www.tirerack.com Their the cheapest I've found and they provide good service, either by chat or phone. For a set of 4 Enkei RPF1, you are looking at about $1,300-$1,400 AUD, including delivery to Australia. Or if you choose a different Enkei wheel you may even get them for a couple of hundred dollars less.

Yeah I suppose it's probably OK for standard suspension, but how many people on here have standard suspension. I certainly don't. But like others have said don't go stupid and you'll be fine. Paul

As far as I understand that's standard practice if you have comprehensive insurance, uless clearly stated otherwise in the policy. Even though the accident wasn't your fault, you lodge a claim with your insurance company, they sort out your repair or in the case of a write off pay you out, and then recoupe the money from the other drivers insurance company. Since you were not at fault it won't go against your insurance record, you won't have to pay an eccess, and it won't affect your no claim bonus. It's just that having comprehensive means any accident goes through your policy. Paul

Yeah I'm familiar with the roads your talking about. It's a very popular spot for drivers of modified cars, whether it be turbo imports or V8 commodores etc. Their all up there regulary. However you really do need to get to know the road pretty well before you gun around their. People write off cars up their very regulary, if you know the roads and are a good driver then fine, but otherwise be carefull. I personally know a few people who have written cars off up there, then there ones I heard about. As you say in a lot of spots the road surface is pretty average to. But having said that it's well worth the drive up there, ther are some good roads with reasonable straights and some damn good corners, I've had heaps of fun the 2 times I've been up their. The other thing ther's one road in and out, meaning you can check if the cops are in there. Unfortunately the gates do get shut at night, 6pm I think (or therabouts). Paul

Being for an NA, an Xtreme Organic Heavyduty clutch would be more than enough. I've had one of these in my R34 GTT (360rwHP)for several years now without issue. The pedals slightly harder than standard clutch (not much) and it feels pretty good. Paul

What utter Bastards, and the worst part is it was essentially a home invasion. As you say it's probably lucky you didn't catch them, as your the one who would probably be locked up (law sux like that). As far as I'm concerned if someone breaks in to your house you should be free to do whatever the hell you like to them. If it were me and I caught someone in my house I'd f**king kill the Bastards. Hope insurance covers all the damage (it probably should). Paul

If it's not written off I can recommend an absalutely f**king brilliant Panel Beater (although he's on the Northern Beaches), but having said that it would be worth travelling the distance even if you live out west. 5 years ago I had a really serious accident in my R34 (that I'd had 3 months) and it stressed the hell out of me and I just wanted to get rid of it. It had 20K damage and a bent rear chassis rail, thankfully the side chassis rails were OK and the rear one just spot welds on and off. Anyway to cut a long story short they repaired the car, which required half of it to be resprayed so I payed to have the other half done and got a total respray. The repair job was absalutely perfect, 5 years later still no problems, the car drives as well as any Skyline I've ever driven, my mechanic is also a spray painter and he can't tell it's been in an accident. People still look at it and say f**k that's a nice paint job you've had it resprayed havn't you. So try not to stress if you take it to the right repairer you will never know it's been in an accident. Let me know if you want my panel beaters details, I also have some photo's of the new paint job. Don't stress it will work out! Paul

No I guess this accident is probably about 8K damage. The 20K accident was a few years ago when the car was insured for over 30K, and it bent the rear chassis rail, (it's now insured for 23.5K). After that accident the panel beater did a fantatstic repair, he resprayed the entire car (partly at my expense) and you couldn't tell it had been in an accident at all. My mechanic's also a spray painter and he couldn't pick it. Your right parts aren't that difficult to get, my panel beater and I insist on using brand new genuine parts. That being the case he's ordered the parts through a Nissan dealer. I believe it's taking so long because they've been affected by the recent earthquake. In the past it's usually taken about 2 weeks. Their due here next week, so here's hoping, although I'm not holding my breath. Yeah the M3, EVO, and 350Z would all be nice cars that I'd be happy to drive, although I spent quite a lot modifying the R34 so I think I'm going to keep it. Paul
