  2. From what i read those comments were directed at the previous owner. And what did he expect, he bought an import with out knowing any of its modifications, he didnt expect a bit of shit over that? As for thew WHOLE forum going to shit, a lot of things i have learnt about my car came from these forums, it is now and always will be a wealth of knowledge and has members that are willing to help when they can. If he is too sensitive to take one joke about a shopping list (which is the most subtle joke you will get from people who hate imports) then maybe he should go hide in a corner where no one will every make a joke any where near him again.

  4. the max amount of finance i will need will be about 10k, and thats if i end up going closer to a 20k purchase price for one with everything i want already done.

I can afford it now but in the current economic climate i would prefer to clear some of the finance i already have before i rack up more, the 33 is fine but i want something different, something a bit bigger and a bit more cruisy to haul my fat arse around, still want power though hence the 2j.
  6. Thats a bit more than im after, i want more of a sleeper, plus i have to get rid of some of the finance i have owing before i get more so i wont be getting one till early-mid next year.
  7. im considering removing the nismo dash and avcr, may even sell the injectors and power fc seperate but when it comes time to sell the car i will want a quick sale so i will probably sell it all together. Or even better, find someone will to trade for an aristo.

Mine will be up for sale early next year, has a blitz lm intercooler, 3" exhaust with 1 piece split dump and high flow cat, avcr, nismo lcd dash with ej1 ecu, 18" wheels, lowered, gtr drivers seat and a high flow turbo with vg30 rear and to4 front, will probably put the injectors, afm, pfc and 040 in, after all that i would not be expecting much over 10k. Im going a different route though, more luxury than a stagea, going to get an aristo, bring on some 2j goodness in a sleeper shell.
  9. Im using it on a high flow with a vg30 rear, but i dont remember, best way to do it is just put it on and make sure there is tension on it and take it for a spin, either you or a passenger keep and eye on it if it starts to go to high pull over and adjust it.
  10. Even if it wont go below 10psi that is still safe for a standard turbo.
  11. Who said it was on a standard turbo? And 14psi is not quite 1 bar, its .95, which is alot when you want 1 bar.

From this thread it seems this turbo started to get a work out in about august 03, now in november 08 it still has not missed a beat and is running 14psi every day, pretty good for a bolt on turbo i think. Dont forget to add on all the extra bits needed to fit your other turbo, if its not a straight bolt on you will also need a new dump pipe, new piping from the compressor housing to both the intercooler and afm plus you will need custom water and oil lines, and if it is not internally gated you will also need an external gate, all those extra's add up and after that the high flow option is not so expensive any more.

  16. 1) its adjustable, see the diagram above. 2) how you describe is exactly what i said, its also the way its done from factory. 3) preload? you just close the wastegate which brings the pin closer to the rod, you then put the rod on and see what boost you are running and then adjust accordingly. You are making this sound far more difficult and technical than it is.

No it does not. 1) What spring are you talking about? 2) On an R33 gtst the vac line to the wastegate actuator comes off the intake pipe just before the throttle body so cooler pressure drop has no effect. 3) If you mean that it wont go under 14psi, when i first put mine on it was at 10psi, i did not try to put it lower as i wanted more boost but i cant see why you could not drop it by a few psi.
  18. If you mean adjust to the same length to get the same boost then no, you will have to play around adjusting it to get the boost pressure you want but its not hard to do.
  19. the vg30 rear is a direct bolt on no need to change it, thats what im using now, great to bolt onto the back of an rb25 highflow.
  20. Also take note of the plugs in the back of the dash, 2 out of the 3 can be filipped 180 degrees, very poor design and is a pain in the arse when replacing it with a cluster that has the plugs in a different position.

  22. that is the first time i have ever seen one, was trying to find out what they looked like ages ago and could not find one, every pic i found had an mspec one so i assumed that the mspec was standard on a gtst.
