when my new engine is done i will go with the power fc purely because i already have it and need to save a bit of money but i will probably change to a dr drift remap so i might grab one then.
-
ahh i see, i thought this thing was taking raw data from the sensors at the ecu and then it goes from there, but i now assume that everything is done in the ecu and this is just a display.
-
is there any chance that this will ever work with a power fc?
-
any chance of getting a rebuild kit with out pistons and rods, im just going to use gtr rods and sps pistons.
-
Also forgot to ask, what sort of power are you guys getting with this setup, bit worried about the 2.25" factory piping used in the engine bay.

unfortunately i think i have the same problem, had this happen in my old na fairlane, was told it was a big job so i went and got a quote to do it as i cbf, went to 3 places, 2 straight out said they dont wont to do it and the other quoted me $1100. ended up selling the car to a mate, took him 2 full days although he did have to do it twice since he left the plug for the hot/cold door off and ripped everything out to do it again, once he had everything out he realized that it was just a plug under the dash pad. now i have to some how convince him to do the 33.

someone started a group buy thread a while ago, the general view was that if you could get a good quality double din touch screen unit at a good price you would be on a winner.

link does not work, copy n paste the specs onto here.

Finished the install today, other than changing the whole mounting set up, which would throw the pipes out of alignment i can not see any way to fit one of these to an R33 gtst with factory fog lights, i had to remove mine and go back to just the normal indicators and trim a lot of unnecessary excess plastic from the back as well which still only left me with about 5-10mm of clearance. Also on mine who ever cut the front bar up was an absolute butcher, i have the same bumper as pictured in this thread but the bottom inside section that hides the bottom pipe from view has been cut back to about 2 or 3inches from the front which means that the bottom pipe is in full view, add to that the fact that the last owner of this set up had painted the cooler black, i have a black car and the pipe is still silver = stands out like dogs balls. Other than that im happy with the way it fitted and now i have a standard looking engine bay and can finally fit the snorkel for the air box, now i just have to fill the hole in the inner gaurd from the old kit.

Off topic but, is there any reason why it seems like you are using 2", 2.5" and 3.5" cooler piping? I may be wrong but as far as i know the flow will only be as good as the smallest sized piping, so if you have 2" some where 2.5" or 3.5" is wasted.

Alternator Replacement/removal *heaps Of Pics*
W0rp3D replied to d00dz's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
Just did this job although i did it all from the top, the only other things i did was i removed the top radiator hose completely and removed the bottom hose from the engine and then bent it out of the way, was plenty of room to get it out of the top then. Couple of notes though, i would not even consider doing the 2 bolts on the back when it is mounted, wait till it is off the bracket then it is easy, also pay attention to how the main wire and loom are angled when bolted on and make sure they go back on that way, i didn't and it made it difficult to line the alternator back up again because of the tension on the wires. -
Right back at ya champ.

if you read the thread i posted a link to the fast thread a bit earlier.

Ebay Rip Off. Dont Trust High_performance_importz

sign up for a pay pal account, its free and well worth it as a buyer, you can either deposit money into it or hook it straight up to your credit card. i sold something (cant remember what it was) to a guy in perth, it was not there after 3 or 4 days (funny that, melbourne to perth is not exactly over night) and he lodged a dispute, paypal automatically took ther amount out of my paypal account and put it into escrow till the matter was sorted, of course it arrived a couple of days later. what you should do is order the part again and then wait a couple of weeks after you have received it and lodge a dispute through paypal saying you never got it. -
i thought they were not allowed to import gtst's into the US, only gtr's and they cost a fortune because only one company does it.

Defected- Help Reinstalling Stock Boost Control R33 Gts-t S2
W0rp3D replied to l_uk3y's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
you could always just get an adjustable wastegate, set it at what ever boost you want and with the heat shield on they cant see the adjuster rod and you just have a line going straight from your piping to your wastegate, if your doing a track day leave the heat shield off and it is a only a few minutes to adjust it, thats what im running now, have a avcr but it seems hold standard boost longer and then the boost goes up really quick, with the hks adjustable wastegate its just a constant push to .9 bar. -

isnt it easier to just run a line straight to the wastegate and not worry about the factory solenoid at all, after all your just going to remove it straight after any way. -

atleast now everyone has to use pay pal, should be the same on forums, if your selling something you have to list your pay pal account as a payment method. -
im installing one of these atm (rain stopped me from finishing it today) was just wondering if the pipes that go up through the guards just go up through the hole or do they use the piece of standard piping that bolts to the holes? atm i have an ic kit that goes accross the radiator which i am removing and replacing with the blitz kit, i have also purchased the full factory piping kit but am unsure as to how much of the factory kit i have to use and not 100% sure what goes where any way as it all just came in a box, also how far forward does your cooler sit, where i have mine at the moment it looks like about the same height as yours but mine sits only a little bit back from the bar reo, problem is that i have fog lights in my indicators and i think the extra bit for those is going to hit the cooler. any help would be appreciated.

the way i see it is that the coppers should be changed atleast every 10k, the iridiums say every 100k, lest just say that the iridiums only last 70k, the coppers are what, $2-$3 each, lets say $2.50, iridiums are about $15 each, so each change is costing you $15 for copper and $90 for iridiums, but you have to change the coppers 7 more times than iridium so really it cost $105 in coppers and a lot more time spent changing then, even lets say that you only get 60k out of iridiums the money breaks even but your saving a lot of time, even if you only get 50k they only cost $15 more and still save you a lot of time. i know what i would prefer to be doing, and its not changing plugs all the time. And this equation is assuming you do the coppers at 10k, which would probably be strecthing the life of them, where as 50k is not stretching the life of an iridium.

assumption is the mother of all f**k ups.
