  1. I think what your referring to there is the front dump pipe (which is the smaller one with a 90 degree bend and o2 sensor in it)) and dump pipe (which is the longer one that joins to the cat) , when people mention the turbo elbow they normally mean the elbow that bolts to the compressor cover and joins to the intercooler piping.
  2. coz thats more work and i always ignore any thing that involves more work
  3. Paying attention is why you slow down, for example the memorial on the side of the westgate freeway just before millers road, i went past there the evening after it happened, there had to be atleast 30 people there with some pulling up on the line the line between the "emergency" lane and the traffic lane, with out any waring they would open there doors in front of traffic, this in its self cause's traffic to slow, also when you see people running around on the side of the road do you just say f**k it and keep doing 100k's? if you do that is dangerous in its self, what happens if some one runs out in front of you and you kill them, you get done for driving with out due care. And if people walking around on the foot path that could do unexpected things dosnt matter why is there 60,70 and 80k limits on dead straight roads, after all your paying attention and know what there going to do. At the end of the day there is likely to be people there, especially for a certain period after it has happened, with increased amount of people right next the road there is an increased risk of people wandering onto the road with out looking, just like in shopping areas where the speed limit is 40 or 50k's.
  4. You have your terminology all out of whack, firstly the easy to understand words, for the exhaust side call it either that or hot side, for the intake side once again call it that or compressor, everyone understands those and there self descriptive. The exhaust housing side you go is based on two things, firstly how much power you want, that will also dictate what compressor side you go which will dictate what size exhaust housing you need, dont know how much power you are after but a .8 exhaust housing will flow enough to do well over 300rwkw, the intake on the other hand seems to be the limiting factor, most of the ones i see advertised are .7 or .8, now what this means it that if you change to a bigger front you will get more power at pretty the same rpm, if you change the rear to a .7 maybe even a .6 you will get the same power that the .6 front will give but at less rpm. Hope this didnt confuse you more.
  5. What is it, home? car? you mentioned it in the sub title but there is no listing for it, if its a car one post up the model number.
  6. The only difference and external gate will make is controlling the boost, it wont have problems with boost spike, the only other problem you will have is that you will need a custom dump pipe made for it, im pretty sure even the nissan rear on those still need custom oil and water lines so that will be the same no matter which one you go.
  7. If your planning on keeping it then it might be worth spending the extra to get it rebuilt, if you put in another second hand engine you have no way of knowing what the previous owner did with it, could be running fine when you put it in but might also die in 6 months, if you get your motor rebuilt you knwo where you stand.
  8. where is the dvd player?
  9. If it goes on for 10-15 seconds you will find that it is a stripped plastic cog on the hot/cold blend door, theres a few threads on it around, have to pull the whole dash pad off to fix it.
  10. You could always take it to some dodgy brothers mechanic and get them to do it, but just like a dodgy doctor you might find there are tools left inside after he has finished.
  11. That must have been a while ago, they changed the law many years ago so its not illegal for camera cars to park pretty much any where they like.
  12. Your core is actually smaller, it isnt as high so there is room for the return piping to run underneath it. What turbo are you using and how big is your rear housing?
  13. Only way to shut it up is by putting on the standard air box (good for 250rwkw) and factory return bov(good for near on 20psi). And yes we are here to help, much like the other 20 million threads you would have found on this subject if you had done a search on it.
  14. As a reference i had a split in one of my silicon joiners, was in the middle of bum f**k idaho and couldnt get any 2.25" silicon joiners, had to limp it home as it was, could take it to 7psi with out a problem but as soon as i tried to take it any higher the cut would open up and no more boost would get to the engine. Maybe try making sure all you joiners are tight as at 25psi the pressure would be escaping from any little gap it could find.
  15. Where are you, if you are in an enviroment where it is 30+ degrees everyday then maybe the hard pipes might be needed.
  16. Im surprised i remembered it at all, its almost 2 years ago to the day.

  18. There was one on the news (pretty sure it was in vic) he went to court with the data from the gps and got off a speeding fine, cant find the story atm.
  19. I drive for 10 hrs a day and always use the tom tom on my phone to see if the speedo is out, always has been reliable for me, just gotta keep it at a certain speed for a couple of k's and make sure you have good sattelite reception.
  20. Havn't seen your tutorial but there is also a speedo corrector you can buy from jaycar, dont know how easy it is to use.
  21. If you read the post you would see that he was trying for the lowest boost setting, not 14psi. The breaking down at high boost was most likely your plugs, probably still gapped at 1.1mm, gap them to 0.8 and you wont have a problem. The loss of power might be an ecu thing, try resetting the ecu and see if that works, what cat are you using, if its still factory then the higher boost may have been the final straw and destroyed it, could be the same if you are using old mufflers.
  22. So what your saying is that everyone becomes a hoon when they leave after entering, but then you say that you didnt, which one is it you cant have it both ways. The year i entered was with 4 mates, none of us did anything that could be considered any where near illegal because we knew there would be cops hanging around, most other people had the same view, and in my opionon you will find that its more the spectatres that get caught doing that sort of thing, not the entrants.
  23. It states that there street legal in qld, what is street legal in qld and adr approved is not always the same thing, adr's would require crash testing, local laws would not.
  24. My 33 speedo is spot on whislt the avcr reads 2k's under what i am doing, my fairlane reads 2k's over what i am doing.
  25. Did anyone do this and able to tell us what it was for?
