On top of this, I've also got a set of standard exhaust manifolds, cats, a custom E.P.A spec catback exhaust, a stock engine cover and a bag of odds and ends for blocking off the oil lines for the turbo, bonnet mat etc, I'll include EVERYTHING that's needed with the car. Both suspension and engine gear could be changed over in a day if you get a mate to help. I did the whole lot myself in one day with the use of a hoist and air tools, and I'm not a spritely character. Car can be viewed in Hallam Vic. Strictly no test drives, I'll take you for a drive if you have a decent deposit on hand. It maxed out Trents dyno (Chequered Tuning)at 19psi, making 900rwhp/1400nm. Idles rock steady at 800rpm, even the cam is barely noticeable. Old dyno video here: $35,000. Cheers, Ben
  3. sorry I copied and pasted from elsewhere, the ebay link at the bottom has all of the pictures in it though

  5. yeah, if your willing to pay 5.5k postage, i'll get them to you neatly packaged in a jzz30 chassis keeping it and finishing it off (computer/tune) would be nice, if not for having a decent street car, just for seeing the result of my hard work paying off, but just not a viable option atm
  6. whats the go with the plug-in looms for the JZ motors? factory JZ injectors are fired 3X2 which the link/vipec can't do? had this issue recently on my mates 1j, we had to rewire it 2X3
  7. fair call, neither 'suffered', but think about what the L20B would have been like running double that boost, for the *simple* thing of modding the carb for blow through and running a cooler? and i'd say the 323 did have charge cooling, although its not something i'd setup in a street car through fear of me not checking it and running out lol, hence i still stand by my previous argument, although it is a good happy medium for the scenario at hand do the 25's both really have the lpg mixer pre-turbo? any pics of the setup, sounds quite peculiar....
  8. i'm saying with a draw through, all the setups run without any charge cooling, limiting total boost that can be run, and the ones that do are cops to drive because the carby is up to a couple of meteres (cooler piping length) from the actual cylinder, where normally its only a few inches. fair to say i havent driven and tested it back to back, but i know someone that has, and has explained to me in the passed just how dramatic the difference is, i have no reason to doubt him. regardless of whether its an L20B or a 1000hp turbo V8, the characteristics of airflow dont change, and i can't see a carby working efficiently that far from the motor... would like to see, as a point of comparison, what low load driving is like in a draw through setup... something decent though, not a standard L20B with an uncooled turbo blowing straight down the intake, something with proper charge cooling and running a meaningful amount of boost. just to clarify, i do think draw through is fine for low boost, basic setup on an old motor, something that's only ever going to see low hp levels (like an L20B), but on a grand scale, in this day in age, i think blow through has it all over draw though
  9. no i've been told how bad it was to consider attemtping it. had an L20B datto that would have been a prime candidate too... so why does nearly every turbo V8 thats out there use blow through instead of draw through? we're talking serious cars, making 4 figure hp, and single digit E.T's
  10. blow through > draw through. if you want to run any meaningful boost, this would necessitate the need for some form of charge cooling, do this with your carb now being METERS aware from the motor, you'll have throttle response you can measure with a calender (know somebody that went through this 20+ years ago with an XE falcon). and its not just a matter of 'sealing' the carb, it needs to be boost referenced on the feed side, as to compensate for the boost moving through the venturi.
  11. been to a few joints, haven't driven hire karts at many (mate has his own 100cc 'race' kart that i get to cane ) but noticed the hire karts at silhouette did seem notably quicker than other joints
  12. he never drove it at 400. was still on the dyno when 98 was put into it. was raining at the time anyway, so it would have been useless through 3rd aswell lol
  13. Hey Daniel, Ben here, i'm the big bloke that was at chequered when you first brought down the drum of powerplus stuff. seen the screen name a hundred times, interesting who you come across down there lol glad to see it all came together mate, you've got a great all rounder there that should be perfectly liveable on the street
  14. Hey guys, decided its time to move on, and pay off my debts has a 1.5jz. motor etc built about 6 months ago gt30R + external gate with screamer 440's torsen auto was heavily shimmed and transcooled. shifts very firmly. front mount with all custom piping will supply 3 exhausts with the car, one stock, one very quiet 3", and one open 3" system 17" mesh style wheels all round reg till november bad things: paint is peeled along top of door and a little on roof front bar has one crack through it (will provide new bar) door trims are both cut around speaker mounts and carpet is a little torn in footwell car is located in S.E. suburbs. chasing 6.5k as it sits now: (tried to post pics properly, not working for me) pic 1 pic 2 cheers, Ben
  15. i've played with both nistune and emanage. bin the emanage idea and use the nistune. get yourself a wideband and some form of knock detection. fine some open road and try not to blow shit up
  16. is fuel pressure increasing with boost? line hasnt popped off the reg or anything silly like that?
  17. be honest, you are running a meth lab at home, stop these nonsense stories of mixing your own fuels and such
  18. detonation is very distinct if you know what it sounds like. i'd never heard it until it was pointed out to me one day, and now i pick it up all the time, even just on normal cars driving in traffic that *should* be run on a decent fuel but are only getting fed 91oct. spark plugs generally wont cop any damage from detonation, but will show some black specs, or even silver ones, around the porcelain. hard to put a time constraint on how long each piston would last for. i've been caning a mates soarer recently while chasing what i thought was ignition braking down, which was actually a massive lean condition, despite being told by a dyno operator that it was flat at 11.5:1 (issue currently being rectified with help from trent), and its been copping it hard, and for a long time lol. still going strong though, standard cast pistons instead of spending your money on water injection, get some GTR injectors and a nistune. cost a little more but the result will be about 487 times better
  19. i've been told with oil leaks, as a general rule, that it shouldnt leave a patch of oil on the ground any bigger than a 5cent piece in 10 mins. also for brakes, i think they are good as long as there is meat on the pads and it pulls up quick enough on the test unit. i dont agree with putting it back on the mechanic either, friends of mine have been in this situation a couple of times too. over their many years of work they have picked up quite a large base of repeat business, and with that there are alot of them that will come in having bought a car that they want transfered into their name, and they get very lenient rwc's. alot of them also want to transfer cars into family member's names etc, so they get looked after too, but occasionally someone that is trusted says 'yeah just transferring it into my brothers name' when they have in fact sold the car to a complete stranger. complete stranger says wtf and brings it back so mechanic can fix it at their cost, when all they've tried to do is help out someone they thought they could trust, its a massive kick in the nuts. and before any mods or tree huggers point it out, yes, i suppose technically they shouldn't do lenient roady's but thats just how it works in the real world
  20. was that R32 at RE customs a while back? if thats the one its a really well built car! more pics of the bus though lol, as someone else asked earlier, whats the bill for something like that roughly? and just for shits and giggles, whats fuel economy like
  21. any chance of labelling them? i'm partially colourblind and all i can see is lines...
