  1. Hi mate, How much for the rear view mirror + the steering colum surround? Cheers
  2. Apply at Energex mate. I'm 4th year Electrical fitter mechanic and it's probably the best thing I have ever done. They pay you ridiculous amounts of money if you have to travel to tafe/training and have awesome penalty rates. If you want to know more shoot me a pm. Cheers
  3. Hi guys, today I was messing around with my car 96 33 Gt-st to try and remove the annoying key in ignition chime that beeps when the keys are left in the ignition with the car off and door open. I notced a clip with 2 wires leading onto the ignition barrel and on the new hilux utes all that is needed to disable the chime is to unclip these 2 wires. Well I tried that and now when i try to start the car it just repeatedly makes a loud "CLICK" noise. Its like the starter motor solenoid is trying to engage but won't stay locked in to crank the motor. Any ideas as to what I have done wrong and how to fix it? Cheers NVM minds, I just realised I had my stereo on for awhile while I was cleaning the car and my battery went flat. WHOOPS! All good now though.
  4. Well... get him to check it with a mechanical quage? Apart from that, an oil change is p*ss easy, buy a decent oil filter + oil and do it yourself, that way you know you are getting decent oil in your car. cheers
  5. You have a dog box and your worried about it crunching? Am i missing something here?
  6. Got some evidence for this statement? A mate of mine used a standard 200,000km+ rb30 bottom end, slapped it on the rb26 head and its been going great guns with tons of punishment.
  7. Crunchy gearboxes are just a part of skyline life. Putting some light weight shock proof oil in can help things but the box will never be 100% smooth. Have you ever driven a car with a dog box? Its not a pleasant experience lol.
  8. Thanks for the reply guys, when they gave it back i was abit :S about it but i went out and can see where the new line is. Cheers for the help!
  9. Have a series 2 standard airbag steering wheel complete with airbag module, wear marks on the leather on the right hand side. Looking for $150 + postage Standard series 2 flywheel, not longer needed as i have light weight item. needs to be machined. Looking for $120 + postage. can provide pics if needed. Cheers
  10. I had a braided clutch line isntalled when i got my clutch done and the workshop gave this back to me. what is it and should it have been removed if i had a braided clutch line installed? Cheers
  11. Nah they used the bearing i gave them but when the noises started happening they said that the bearing i gave them was faulty hence me having to pay for them to change it again. but now that its still making the noise im going to ask them why i had to pay the 300 when the noise is still happening.
  12. OK long story here, took my car (1996 r33 gt-st) to a workshop to get a new exedy heavy duty clutch put in. When the work was finished the car was turned on and started making horrible screeching noises when the clutch was put in. all the guys at the workshop said "must be the throw out bearing" as i had supplied a genuine nsk bearing with the clutch to be installed. $300 later they had dropped the gear box again and replaced the throw out bearing and all was good. until today... after driving about 50kms it has started making the grinding screeching noise when the clutch is pushed in. Clearly these guys are incapable of installing and adjusting a clutch properly. Apart from another dodgy throw out bearing what else could it be? i also gave them a new spigot bush to be installed as well. When the car is idling in neutral there are no noises, but when the clutch is pushed in the grinding noises start. Any help and opinions would be handy, as i plan to go back on monday asking for a refund and ill take the car elsewhere.
  13. hm.. ive been reading about applying anti squeal grease to either sides of the shims, and that this sometimes eliminated squeal. I'm not just going to give up and sell them seeing as i paid $400 for them. If need be, ill keep them and use them as a track pad if i ever get to one of the QLD raceway track days.
  14. Well seeing as the organizer new that the car was going to be street driven, and said they were a good pad, no, at the time i didn't feel it necessary to do some research on them. Now, does anyone have anything useful to add to the thread?
  15. Ahh ffs! Those pads cost me $400, i got them through a group buy on this site. surely the GB organizer wouldn't have sold me pads that were unsuitable to everyday driving on the street? The noise is almost unbearable.
