  3. I am 23, and with Shannons, but Just Cars would insure me aswell. The difference between the both is that Shannons have a higher premium cost, but a lower excess fee, and allow you to make monthly payments. Just Cars have a lower premium, but higher excess if anything was to go wrong, and you can only pay them annually, so you'll have to save for each insurance year. You might have this sorted already but there is some info.
  4. why don't you advertise on a few other forums, carsales.com, carpoint.com and the tradingpost.com rather than bumping the hell out of this thread? selling a second hand car these days is going to take a while since everyone is in the market to buy something new, I don't know anyone who has sold their second hand car in under a few months. having said that, it is a nice car... and good luck cliffnotes - stop bumping.
  5. Thanks heaps for all the replies guys, and all the PM's. I'll write everything down and add up my figures. I am not after brand names, I am after reliability. If there is something there that does the exact same job that the HKS / Tomei etc do... then I'll take it. I have heard the stock rods and cams are both good for 500hp? Has anyone else heard this? I am still another 100hp off that figure so I could save some $$ in that area if the rumors are true. To everyone that PM'ed me, I'll get back to you in the next couple of days. Thanks again for all your help. I wont worry about o-rings either. Sounds like they aren't needed.
  6. Haha... It's been off the road over 3 months now and I just don't care. Even if it went back to what it was I just want the bloody thing back!! I don't have any other trnasport apart from it so catching lifts or having to borrow cars is starting to shit me right off
  7. Wow thanks SO much! I am sticking with the 25 now shanef. Too freaking hard to go the 30 bottom end here in Darwin, I just gave up. I had 365hp before she blew so that's enough... if I change my mind down the track (which I don't think I will) I will do something about it then Edit: There is a gallery of photos from the rebuild. Just follow the link in my sig to find them. I haven't updated them since the engine was pulled out. I might go to the w/shop this w/end if they managed to strip it down today, and get some more pics to upload!

Hey guys / girls, Stripping my rb25 motor down tomorrow and just spoke with the mechanic and he mentioned that forged pistions might have to come from the states and can take 6 weeks to get here? Surely there is a website or w/shop down south that sells the above parts that I need here in Australia? Does anyone have any recommendations on who I can speak to or web links I can have a look at to get the parts? Any help will be really appreciated. I tried looking but I'm not having much luck Phee

  10. Personally I like the 'TR' or Trust style front bar because it is simple straight and clean, along with the Explosive skirts. The Veilside kit is alright, but just looks a bit much. That's IMO anyway... Simple and clean gets my vote.

I read the thread and the NT was mentioned. We have open speed limits, and it costs $150 for personalised number plates (once off fee) and we can have up to 7 numbers and/or letters in any order. No extra charge for streamline plates, or different colours etc. So yeah, you could say there are a few benifits to living here... but don't get me started HTH

  16. I am getting an rb30 block from a mate for a carton of Jacks, and I am selling everything off my rb25 block that I wont be using to my boyfriend for his s13. I have around 5 - 5.5k to spend, I just want to make sure I am going to be ordering parts with a known history of standing the test of time. The turbo I have is a t70. This was her before she blew: All the pics of the car were taken by the previous owner. The only photos I took of her was when they dismantled the engine. More pics can my found in my sig link.
  17. The car would only be used at the drags, she wont be going out for track work. I don't want to compromise the fact she is a daily driver, so cams that make it really hard to get from A - B are something I DONT want. Thanks heaps for your advise, it has been a HUGE help!

  21. She is still getting done at the moment. I am taking my time. 2 months off the road and counting. Still haven't ordered parts yet but I expect themt o come to around 4k. I am getting the head and bottom end done so the motor is good for around 600hp at the fly.

  23. I am rebuild my motor as some of you might remember and I am going to put an rb30 block on an rb25 head. Anyway, I am getting everything done and I am curious to find out what are the best parts to put in her. I am not out to buy the most expensive brand named parts simply cause of their label, I just want something that is affordable and that will work. I have tried looking on SAU but being new to the game I am a bit lost. The motor I want to be good for around 600hp at the fly. Do you know what parts I should get for this amount of power? I have a mechanic getting a quote for me but I want to be able to know what he is on about. I only know the main parts that need replacing. Pistons = Rods = Cams = Oil pump = Fuel pump = Injectors = Also ARP rod bolts, ARP main bolts, ARP head studs. Should I be getting more springs/valves etc for that amount of hp? Sorry, but I am new to this and don't even know if I am making any sense, let alone an ass of myself. Phee
