  1. link to tie rod end DIY - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ti...&hl=tie+rod
  2. an auto electrician would probably charge the earth to do diagnostic testing on it to figure out whats wrong with the lighting. unless they have worked on skylines before. Also I see you say side lights. do you mean your side indicators or your headlights? Tie rod ends really are a piece of piss to replace. there is a tute on how to do it in the DIY section. I did mine 2 days ago in about 45 mins. All you need is a few spanners and a hammer
  3. not sure about the 33 but in my 32 I had to replace the switch assembly itself. the one located in the car which is used to turn the lights on and off. My parkers always worked but one low beam and one high beam never worked. The small contact points in the switch assembly had worn off and therefore that sides lights never worked. Tie rod ends are $23 each to replace from autobarn, $130 from nissan, it is however possible the steering rack is stuffed and therefore you have play in the steering wheel. Maybe see if someone in your area off here could just come look at it and give you a hand for a carton of beer or something. good luck with it.
  4. Hey mate, I know that picture. Its got my shoe in it, haha. You can buy these trims new from nissan. Not likely to find them in good condition second hand, I think most are brittle from the sun and peeling. From memory they are roughly $130 a piece
  5. Yes I think I shall be getting the ones from autobarn. I called fulcrum today to get a quote on a wheel alignment after I replace the tie rods and asked about the legality of rose joint tie rod ends. The guy I spoke to wouldn't comment and said I should contact QLD transport. Which makes me think they might not be legal. So I wonder what insurance would say if for some reason I had to make a claim and they found "illegal" steering components on the vehicle. Cheers for the input
  6. Hey guys, need to replace my tie rod ends on my 32 gtst. Have been quoted $130 each from nissan, $23 each from autobarn, or adjustable ones from Just jap for $149 for the pair (see image) Looking at getting the ones from autobarn as I cant see why nissan ones are worth 5 times more. Has anyone replaced their tie rod ends with generic ones and had a bad experience? Also, could anybody shed some light on what is adjustable on the just jap ones? Obviously they can be wound in and out. It appears that the bolt on the top might allow for some form of adjustment? Any ideas? Cheers

    clean line

  8. you can get rods to weld stainless and alloy with an arc. But to weld alloy you require a DC arc welder. Most household units are AC. As Project-GT4-TT said, allweld make electrodes to weld stainless to mild steel as well as standard stainless rods
  9. I have some pics too. was here with a mate and his RX7. its not a skyline but nice none the less.
  10. might be a noob question but anyway. I've seen electrodes for an arc welder that are suitable for stainless steel. Is it possible to weld stainless with an arc welder? Anyone tried it if it is possible?
  11. sorry just read what mods it has
  12. photos would be good if possible. any other info, mods or is it stock?
  13. heres the nissan part number for the coil pack loom, could be superseded but they should be able to check: Part Number Description 24079-01U00 HARNESS ASSY-EGI SUB
  14. hey mate, dont know if you are still looking for a coil pack loom but you can buy them new from just jap. Nissan too if you can find the part number. From previous experience Just Jap wont give you part numbers for items they stock for obvious reasons. the link to just japs coil pack looms, they currently dont have stock for RB20 http://justjap.com/store/product.php?produ...=332&page=1
  15. Try 24079-01U00 - Harness Assembly for the coil pack loom. This part number may have been superseeded but nissan can check if this is the case. Just jap sell them for $220, http://justjap.com/store/product.php?produ...=263&page=1 so nissan may be cheaper or very similar. Depends on what the markup is on their products. Once you find a price from nissan post it so we can see what they are new.. Cheers
  16. I think it would be possible to swap the internals over. But I dont really have time to be doing it right now.If I have to swap stuff over I may as well do what 'White GTS-T' said and buy a two way
  17. and then you obviously have to bleed the system.... follow the workshop manual for specific order to bleed stuff
  18. I replaced both my master and slave cylinder last year. Mine was leaking into the cabin too. I just dug through my car receipts, from nissan it cost me $104 for a new master assembly. You can however buy overhaul kits for them. Its pretty easy to replace. Remove the line to the assembly, remove the two bolts from the firewall, and remove the pin and shaft from the pedal (near the pedals inside the cabin). Then its just a matter or removing the assembly and fitting the new one.
  19. Just thought I'd upload some pics of where the ABS sensor is located, for reference sake. Its on the tailshaft input and not on the driveshaft outputs. The sensor bolts into the actual housing so unless the non-abs diff has the hole blocked off I dont think its as easy as just swapping the sensor over. Thanks to the people who responded anyways. pics:
