  1. Use a bigger socket?? Was the tutorial for GTR as im pretty sure they use a larger bolt. I just cant remember the size off the top of my head.
  2. haha don't mind my spelling, i think im the first university educated engineer with the spelling skills at a grade 6 student lol on a side not i tried to edit that last post and the edit button has vanished, but is on this post??
  3. the one in the bore looks like a telescopic gauge? I prefer to get a dial bore inducator, that can go from you main and big end size all the way to you piston bore. I then use an outside mic on the crank.
  4. Every map sensor equipped ecu i have seen, power fc, autronic, motec, haltech all use the air temp sensor, so i assume it is needed.
  5. with out air temp you can not know air density, there for pressure alone is useless...
  6. no problem and good luck
  7. Just a question, but if you were running 320 rwkw and are upgrading from 700cc injectors, im assuming to something larger, why? These injectors would be good for 420+, sorry if there is other reason for it tho. Cheers
  8. I think it is just less accurate, i use a dial bore indicator and works well.
  9. this will depend greatly on who you ask, what oil you will run etc. Some people will recommend building them tight, near 1 thou on the mains, others will say 2 thou on the mains, general rule is 1 thou per inch of journal, and the more power you wake the larger the clearance. Personally i have built some sr20s loose, 2+ thou on the mains and was fine. I don't think there is the perfect rule, but building them a little on the looser side makes some sense to me.
  10. doesn't like dirty hands...selling shit much cleaner.
  11. are you getting it really cheap and do you have fabrication skills? if yes and yes go for it, otherwise dont bother, you have a good car for bolt on goodness, dont complicate it.
  12. Dont even waste your time with pirtek they are a bunch of useless wankers. I swear that if the rest of them are like the ones here id rather smash my head against a brick wall. Anyway, just lube up and goto nissan. probably be around 80 bucks.
  13. Just been in contact with terry from award diff and gearbox (he is a champion) and he is sending me the upgraded discs and put them in the order i need to install it. Ill get a pic when i receive them.
  14. id want 800 to do it too have you tried it, shit of a job in car.
  15. I have per side, 4 friction discs (two with tangs on inside, two with tangs on out side) and two spring discs both with tangs on outside.
  16. Think of it like this NO=normally open NC=normally closed COM=common If there was to be a failure of the solenoid for an internal gate car you want it to be flowing air, so you don't run huge boost levels, so you use NO and COM If there was to be a failure of the solenoid for an external gate car you don't want it to be flowing air (its connected to top of the wastegate to hold it down), so you don't run huge boost levels, so you use NC and COM
  17. The % is like that on most boost controllers, instead of setting a boost, and then the boost controller tries to work out the duty cycle you need to just enter a duty cycle and then see what boost it runs.
  18. I just pulled apart my R32 rear lsd and there is no 2 thick washers in there? Can you clarify what you are saying cos im getting heaps confused with it all at the moment.
  19. just ring him he is from hpiab. He said he wanted to import a few cars here and there for a bit of extra cash.
  20. Yep i gave them a ring they can get it. He was keen for me to send the whole diff up there but ill get a price for just the kit, shipping is a killer.
  21. There is different types. RCI make a cheap one looks to not be Kevlar and is some steel belted blanket that you strap around it. For about 300ish US they then sell Kevlar blankets. Then for all popular American transes (mostly auto) they sell pressed steel scatter shields. All these go on the outside of the bell housing. With some transmissions you can buy special casings that they do not require a blanket as its built into the metal.
  22. Im dragging this thread back up, im after one of these kits. I rang nissan today and they are not able to get the parts... is there any other avenue i can use to get the kit?
  23. Oh i thought this was going to be some type of drive car you would used fairly regularly. Thats all good then!
  24. looks awesome. Call me gay and paint me pink but i just couldn't deal with a R34 GTR with no AC
