Dropping The Subframe
GTR1993 replied to lwells's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I have actually done this exact thing this week, took 3 hours to drop the subframe on 32 GTR, 5 hours to get the bushes out, few hours to push new bushes in (i have a china 12 tonne press pushed them in easy as) i havent put it all back in yet im cleaning up under the car and body taring it to make it all look black and nice. Also installed hicas lock bar at the same time. Going to remove all the hicas shit that goes with it and bypassing it as sydney kid does. Installed bilstein shocks at the same time, also maby next week i might replace the control arm bushes etc and sway bars once i have ordered these. -
makes sense as my GTR is a 1994 and doesnt have the fins.
-
Thats weired as my GTR doesnt have a finned diff cover. Not sure why that would be, it does seem to lock up a fair but going around some corners so maby it has been replaced somewhere along the line, but never driven another GTR so i couldnt tell if its normal or not.

i supose i could send a dvd, is it not avalible doe download anymore? I got the pump today, looks identical next question was the 2 so called GTS4 diffs there both had finned rear covers, i thought this meant they were 32GTR V specs?
-
quick seaurch of FAST says they are the same. Any inpout appreciated.

hi, does anyone know if the atessa pumps on the r32 gtr is the same as the r32 gts4? i can get the gts4 pumps cheap and the ones on my gtr are very rusty ans would like to replace them. Thanks

Autronic is a very good ECU, i use them. I would say Autronic and motec are in there own league, then pretty much everything else is below them. Motec is better for some cases, like they can use any trigger disc where autronic can not (you will have to sway yours for one that works with the autronic. As for prices the new SM4 i would say you could pick up for around the 2000+ mark maby bit more bit less depends who you know. Also depends on such things as trigger discs etc. What do they want to charge you for it?

Gary do you know the time from order to delivery on rear sway bars and bushes? I just pulled my rear cradel out to replace the subframe bushes (noltec), install the bilteins i got from you and a hicas lock bar, i was thinking while im at it i might as well do everything to the rear as i have some money. Thanks

dump pipe is the cast section that is only like 30 cm long off the turbo and has the O2 sensor in it, the front pipe connects to this and then goes down to the cat. Ypu can buy aftermarket front and dump pipes, but you can also buy a front and dump pipe all as one section. Split dump is generally considered better.

well looking at some prices a rb26 goes for around 6000. add at least 2000 of other stuff for front mount piing general stuff that is different. I dont know about the 4wd systems pumps if they are the same or not, then body panels etc, say 1000ish, plus labour be at least 2000ish depending, so alot of money. This is only quick estimate as well there could be more hassels.

My r32 gtr is a 94, and doesnt have brembos, so it seems they were not all v spec.

Damage 1992 R32 Gtr All Parts Available
GTR1993 replied to R32 Autech's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Hey, im after rear passanger side armrest i supose you call it, where the rear passanger would put their arm, just under the quater window. -
If you use the lock bar, you can remove the engine bay mounted solenoid, lines and rack, removing about 20 kg i have been told. The problem with this is you disconnect the hicas computer goes a bit heavy at slow speeds. Using the tomei kit you will lock the hicas and have no problems with steering going heavy, so what i have done is i have bought both, ill remobe the whole system, and install the computer box so i have the best of both worlds.

Recived my bilstein shocks and while line dust boots and bumb stops now. Good service hopefully will be able to buy the rest of the kit when money permits!

after a mint sterio suffound, its the peice of plastic that goes around the gear boot sterio and holds the ask try in etc. Also after interiour trim that goes around passanger rear quater window that has the arm rest built into it. prices on these?

Recommended Oil Cooler For R32 Gtr?
GTR1993 replied to Rob_32_VSPEC's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
with a sutable amount of cutting around the drivers side vent i was able to fit my oil cooler in, i will take some photos. Tight fit but seems to work well, witht he earls thermostat oil stays dead on 80 deg celsious according to the factory gauge. -

Getting Ultimate Performance And Reliability
GTR1993 replied to 180bfj20det's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
what EGT sensors are u using? I have been looking into this but i dont really want to spend the money on a fully loaded motec that can do it. Is there any decent stand alone units? -
Depending on where you put the inlet temp sensor, when i tune my car we leave the sensor hanging in ambient temp, not in front of the pod filter as if the motor is sucking hot air i would like to know about it on the dyno so i can rectify the problem. This was my intercooler is never going to cool below ambient, so there would be no problems.

Lenco Automatic Gearbox
GTR1993 replied to [200]'s topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Is this an all out racing transmission? From what i know about lencos (and a quick searcg i did this seems to be the case) Probably will be a custom bell housing/adapter ring, i would serioustly doubt that there would be something off the shelf, expecially as the RB is not so popular in the usa compared to its toyota counterpart for drag racing. On power ratings http://www.robinson-race-cars.co.uk/current.htm 6 second passes good enough? if its the same box it will take anything.
