  4. thanks mad082 yeh its one of those things i guess, but like you said if it can be avoided to take it to a mechanic the better, i guess i'll bite the bullet and take it to one
  5. ok so if my head gasket is on the way out, is this a costly replacement or?
  6. its ok to start after the first time it makes a sound like its struggling to get the fuel through but once it does that its ok
  7. spark plugs are not old at all, maybe my tune is a bit too rich causing them to foul up? also my mechanic suggested maybe my injectors have something to do with it, but it seems like it takes a while for it just to kick over
  8. Hey guys, Just wondering if anyone can give me a few clues as to why my r33 gts-t is hard to start in the morning? Its got a fuel reg, boost control valve, and a front mount, but it has had brand new coil packs and plugs (splitfire) and everything else seems to be normal, it recently had a tune so its not running rough or idling bad, its just that when i go out in the morning to start my car, i have to pump the accelerator pedal a bit to get it going, it almost seems like a fuel pump or oil pressure problem or something! I'm just guessing though so if anyone could shed some light i would greatly appreciate it! Cheers, Jared
  9. Hey guys, Names jared, i'm new to these forums, but i'm currently having issues on deciding which is the best aftermarket computer suitable for my application?? at the moment i'm running a fairly stock rb25det in my 1993 auto R33, all the mods i have is a boost controller (stock turbo), turbosmart t-reg fuel regulator, 3" cat back exhaust, and at the moment the three inch is being completed with dump from the turbo and i'm fitting a front mount. The transmission has been beefed up a little but yeh all i'm asking is peoples opinions on the best suited engine management for me
  10. sweet and where would i find the o2 sensor?
  11. Thanks guys, i read the tech article about cleaning the AAC valve, and will be attempting this soon Also will get my fuel pump checked out as i have a feeling it may be this to, sometimes has trouble kicking over on cold mornings!
  12. Hey guys, The name is Jared, i'm a newbie to these forums, and i'm having some problems with my R33! It seems to be coughing and farting on idle sometimes, now all the mods i have done is a boost controller, fuel reg. and exhaust. the car is due for a tune very soon once i fit my front mount, but even i know it shouldnt be idling like it is even if it is out of tune. The car will idle fine sometimes, and others it will drop down to like 500rpm and just start idling like a dog! I know it could be many a thing so i'm just wondering if you guys would be able to help me and maybe tell me some stuff i can look for to help try and cure this problem , till i have to take it to my mechanic! i have replaced the AFM, tried adjusting the little red idle box thing at the back of the engine, and yeh im stumped lol maybe something to do with spark or fuel perhaps? Anyways any positive input would be great! Cheers, jared
