  1. hi mate, any chance you still have the rear speaker covers off the rear parcel shelf? G.
  2. ok great. i have an a/m sony in there right now, but in my neighbourhood having anything but a stock unit almost guarantees curiosity and a smashed window at 3am. can you see if you can get your PM or email sorted and will exchange details and EFT postage etc.
  3. hey, isent you a pm and an email, also posted here. anything i need to know to get it in working order? G
  4. you will win especially on a 6-7k rpm launch. make him pay for your fuel money and time slip. pretty much loser pays.
  5. as old as this thread is i just had an incident which brings light to relevance in this thread. but reflecting on the main subject matter of this thread i feel alot of people defending this person who caused this situation are severely deluded. all well and good if you know this guy and i am sure alot of people stand to defend his charcter but all the character and good nature in the world wont justify a life lost. for people to say this could happen to any of us is ridiculous. think about it...and think about it good. how many people on the roads everyday driving in normal vehicles driving by the speed limit have these kinds of crashes? really how many? very little if any right? why? we drive to a speed limit..yes. we anticipate the worst when we have passengers...yes? why? because we are responsible for there lives when we are driving the car they are riding in. this guy cared for no one but himself and his ego by CLEARLY racing other vehicles. i have not heard of any car that suddenly accelerates excessively in the presence of other faster cars around. dont blame the type of car or the mods it has...cars are only controlled by one person and one person only. better circumstances perhaps would have favoured him and his passengers, but remove the circumstance in the first place and this will not happen...ever. from what i have read i am the typical demographic in which they try to target. i am of asian origin and have owned 4 jap modified import vehicles since getting my license( i am 33) and i can only ever recall getting any grief only once with one car and that was not knowing the power of my vehicle changing lanes. the cars i have had are 260 Z, mazda RX7, MX6 Turbo and a R32 GTR.hardly cars that blend in .it has been 7 years since my last infringement of any kind due to not being an idiot or being extra extra lucky. any loss is a sad loss even ones that were preventable, which brings me to my incident relating to this thread. the stretch of tonkin hwy between leach and grt eastern is in question. speed is 100kmh...middle aged man i suppose you can call him in a Mazda MPS. take off at the lights and he is actually trying to run me, i only know this as i can see the front of his car darting back and forth on my left. finding it hard to understand why we get to 100 in a sane manner obviously in a quicker time he could, i dont understand why he is showing off, maybe curious to see how his car goes against me more than likely. i slow down to let him pass as i need to get into the left hand lane and he speeds off..this is @100kmh. as he does i see a female passenger shaking her head and then to my disgust i see 2 KIDS in the back seat!!!! he was looking straight ahead obviously in shame of his idiocy. the guy would have been at least early to mid 40s. tragedy and stupidity has no demographic and is only prevented by common sense...where available. if you have no self control..take it to the track or get of the f@ckin road. i want to live and so do my friends and families. there is no exception or excuse, and if there is it can only be poor.
  6. Hi, some members may have had a similar situation: park your car at work then have a phone call telling you that your alarm is going off. you run out to find no signs of forced entry, and the alram doesnt disarm. no big dents from a falling dead bird on the roof or no skid marks from some hit and run offender. what the? hten you realize the park light switch was in the on position!!! flat battery!!! doh!!! but why didnt you hear the headlight buzzer? cos the turbo timer told the car you were still inside it.....happen to you? its happened to me twice and i am sick of it. i would like to know if any members out there have had a mod done to there TT so it lets you know the lights are still on while still running the TT. anyone anyone???
  7. i managed to get a working clock and now i am much happier. its all stock and original. now all i need is to find a factory cd stacker that came with the car stereo. also it appears the car stereo circuit has no bearing on whether the clock works or not. i plugged in the new clock and it worked without the stereo connected at all.hmmm now for that cd stacker...!!
  8. managed to check the circuit for the clock and it is pushing out 12.5 volts and 14 volts with engine running. the voltage is getting to the clock but it stops there and wil not work. have sourced a working clock to fit to it tomorrow. i cant believe the dramas just to get to the clock.
  9. after dismantliing the instrument cowling i have managed to remove the clock. on close inspection it looks as if something has melted under the clock display glass. if this is a bonding mark or in fact something has melted. fading light stops me from doing more for now. next will ceck the mentioned fuse again then test clock pins under power. tom.
  10. hi mark, i am down to back tracing via wire schematic all the wires off the stereo and instrument cluster. i am also modifying the stock car stereo antenna to accept a normal one so i can get the band expander to pick up more aussie stations. i have noticed some cut wires in my car also behind the console, i believe they were modded fo gauges and such. let you know how i go. btw you know of anyone who has the standard cd disk stacker that goes with the stereo? tom.
  11. yeah tried under the dash right side all the fuses ok. nowhere else really on the 32 gtr.
  12. i have a similar issue but i have already checked the fuse and it is ok. i have just fitted a stock deck to my car and i cant get the clock to work. from what i am lead to believe it runs off the car stereo harness. does anyone know which wire does make the clock work or if it in fact uses the harness for the clock power? thanks. Tom.
  13. actually i have one with a built in turbo timer. theres a seperate button to turn off the car too if you think its running too long. i do notice when the car is idling and i arm the alarm it sounds like the car drops in revs slightly but notably. also i have had the car/alarm 5 weeks now and twice it failed to disarm!! i ended up looking like a car thief wandering around for 5 mins pressing the clicker until it decided to disarm. so far so good...but for how long...???
  14. seeing you guys asked..yeah sure why not i will come along..LOL. i just had a small local area cruise recently and it was all good. now i would like to see the similar types of car i am running. the hills would be good but a hell of alot of temptation to "blow out the cobwebs". if i had to drive to mandurah and back i would surely need a chiropractor at the end of it. am looing forwrd to meeting fellow GTR owners and the like.
  15. thanks for the assitance i already scored one...working and everything.
  16. i know it may be a long stretch but i dont suppose u can take a pic of it...i am not sure if its the same deck in the GTSt as the GTR R32. if you look in some GTR R32 pics with stock interior u can see what the deck is like. BTW where r u in perth? Regards, Tom.
  17. I am chasing a working R32 GTR tape deck. Band expander would also be a plus but is not essential. Must be in good cosmetic condition. Thanks. Tom.
  18. hey there gazza...i wasnt bagging red cars just a personal preference after owning 2 red cars. i guess pearl is a different animal all together. as for the GMG colour i tend to like it as it was the first colour of GTR i ever set my eyes on all those years ago. i was in hazelhurst street in kewdale where nissan australia once was before they backed out of oz. it was one of the managers cars. i guess first impressions last. ironically i was there to pick up a part for my 260Z...LOL one iconic car to another...LOL Tom thats a big coincidence...dont suppose you have private plates also? u r in perth? Gazza...i too am a patron of good ol imports 101...is where my beasty came from.
  19. i spent 2 years on and off lookin for the car i now have. initially it was any GTR R32 and i didnt mind doing a little work to it. body or engine wise. then it was that it had to be a stocker 89 90 model ofcourse so it could have the 15 year rule thingy. then it turned out i could have a later 1993 model one for a couple thousand more. it needed to be stock with exhaust ,wheels and suspension at a stretch.i didnt want a car PSI was talkin about either, as they were common. i mean how many oversized gauges do you need destroying your dashboard and your view of the road. and those damn car shaped airfresheners with weird looking stickers on the windscreen that look like the chart of the elements. i then landed my beast with enkei tri-spoke 17 inch(no ricey cheapo rims here PSI) rims, a veilside 3.5inch stainless steel mandrel system and GAB fully adjustable road /track suspension setup. it still had the stock airbox on it and still has. in the end ownership was what i was after. it goes like buggery and looks low, neat and f@ckin mean, as a co-worker put it. no plans further just a neaten up as the centre vent and stereo needed to be replaced. i essentially looked for a car i could gauge financially to bring it to the level i expect for the cash. my last 2 cars were red so i didnt want the hassle i had with the red paintwork.considering i was anticipating having to do panel work and some engine work i came away with my car with a good deal as i need not do any major(or minor) panel or engine work...touch wood.
