Sounds like it might be a *good* fact finding mission for a change!
RB26's have a restrictor in the boost line. Pop this out and it'll run 12psi all day. Maybe check this is still in place?

Good one @PranK. A year later and no update on the cause of the noise.
Woops, forgot to update.
Yep, was the bearing. And, still havent sold the car!
Thanks all for the replies! SAU crew to the rescue once again!

Try heating it with a hot air gun (gently) and pushing it back from the inside. You may be able to massage it until it is really good, or you may have to stop and then add some filler.
This. Heat and push. Use something blunt and wrap the end in a towel so you don't get any sharp high spots. Its pretty easy to get them back to a relatively good looking bar using heat. Just don't melt it.

So, I'm planning on replacing my turbos soon which is a bit of a bastard to do and while I was just going to use jack stands on the driveway, I started wondering if there is some space with a hoist I could rent in Sydney for a few days.
There is a place in Campbeltown but its about $300 for the day and is 1.5hrs from me. It'll be two or three days I'd assume for me to do it.
I also need to do oil pan and both these jobs requires dropping the subframe.

Sorry this happened @Zabuza. Not much we can do unfortunately, looks like the IP's used were in the states.
The account has been banned but not deleted so we still have access to the PM's if we need them.
We will be putting a PM restriction on all accounts until they've posted 15 times. Hopefully will help us weed out any more scammers as the SAU'ers will be prompt to report any dodgy posts.

Thanks @Duncan let's see how I go next week.
For good measure, just happened again. Daily occurrence 🥲
Will get it fixed and wait till the Minister of War & Finance is back to work so we have more cash flow instead of torching our savings before we buy a new shit box (won't be a Nissan, soz).
"You can drive on"

I've been following. I'm excited though I hate the new name. Which makes no sense anyway considering it's going to be bi directional! 🤣

The problem is, its very easy to go too far and the car can't be driven at low speeds because the throttle is so sensitive. So it takes a bit to find the happy medium. It has like 40 preset levels which is dumb. It also has an eco mode which is like the car is being pushed by 4 midgets.

Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but it's almost like a piggy back or a Apexi SAFC but it's for your Throttle and sits between that and the ECU?
Yep, thats exactly what it is. Just changes the signal.

Interesting, so you have a separate throttle controller as opposed to making changes on the ECU? I'm guessing BMW don't let you tinker with this stuff?
'Controller' is probably a little too liberal. It alters your inputs to fool the throttle. It does enough for me, but yeah there are loads of aftermarket electronics out there. I have an MHD tune at the moment and it has some throttle stuff in there too and I'll investigate it eventually.

Johnny said a new pedal will basically turn it into an M2.
DBW throttle body requires a sensored pedal.

Ahhh, so I missed the, now clearly important, previous post about the shift to DBW.- 1

I wonder if it is because dbw lets car manufacturers do all kinds of shenanigans with the throttle input. Which then makes it feel like a computer is in control and not the driver. I think at least on economy shitboxes throttle inputs are modulated for maximum fuel efficiency. Loses all pedal feel and feedback.
I presume neither of you have any of that nonsense on the Skyline
Yeah I'd agree with this. I have a throttle controller in the 335 and I've temporarily put it in the X5 and 330i and its pretty interesting how it can change things. That said, the controller doesn't remove BMW's "Driver adaptations" which is their way of manipulating the throttle based on what they "think" you want.
I wonder if there is a DBW -> Cable conversion kit. 🤔
EDIT: I made the adaptations sound shit. They're absolutely not and BMW does a good job here, its just sometimes I'd like a bit more "direct" control.

What was the reason for the pedal swap?

That looks very cool.

Jen and I are planning to make it to this one. Haven't been there in a long time.
I'm going to try. I'll see if I can talk my daughter into coming.
