  1. it is also about how much air could be shifted. Vs stock turbo to a GT40 at at a bar of boost, compensate half the timing to the GT40 it still makes more power. As for the same reason of why people don't install factory exhausts on a high powered cars. If the stock air box is only made for 250HP, it will obviously restrict and affect drive ability on a 500HP setup. A well made pod enclosure or a custom cold induction system will definitely help getting the best of both worlds.
  2. whats a shift kit for R34 worth? I've also got a Auto 4 door undecided at moment.
  3. No you have not tried Porn Cams or knew any one makes them
  4. Also check VCT is working or not. Both mine and adam's runs fall into the boost curve your'w drawn, while pre-boost power curve should be identical to all Rb25dets.
  5. ^^^ On the same time you are also running an external gate. I've also made 290rwkws on 19psi peek at 6200rpms at 17psi on the same turbo externally gated off the turbine housing. It some appears the external gate has greater gain used on stock exhaust manifold.
  6. That is mental for a Sr20det man. I've never seen any thing been able to do that on a SR. Great work
  7. Its got about almost same result as the one on mine. But I had the smaller rear housing. Be interested to see results using Stao's new housing over lied with ours. I believe you've got the latest SS2. did you end up getting yours tuned?
  8. I've had a ATR45 in.82 rear agers ago. That core is interchangable with a Ford XR6 BA turbo.
  9. Didn't KKR produced a twins scroll internally gated turbine housing for their KKR480 and 560 turbos years back? It ring a bell as I have read many complaints about their lack in ability of boost control.
  10. Just run stock manifold and External gate it off your turbine housing. You can get 300rwkws from do that.
  11. ^^^ Except the tyre does not spin at 100,000+RPM. Or he would be sitting on the moon. lol
  12. ^^^ Depending on what full boost is. if its set to 10psi then its pretty average. By the way, mate's XR6 BA fitted a ebay China core and only lasted 200kms, lol
  13. Sounds like a cooler piping leakage to me. Might want to pressure test the intake system for any leaks. Or might be a bad AFM or O2 sensor.
  14. That is from the timing down low. Take it to a different tuner.
  15. Congrats on the result. making my self wanting E85 for me SS2 now . Harry and Georger34 is also on a Neo motor. Both of them are on a G3 high flow doing 280ish.
  16. HG just released a G2.5 version that appeared extremely promising. The main reason I picked a HG SS2 is for the convince of bolton, saving time of running around and chasing bits, for me it actually worked out cheaper and I can't be happier with my end result (307rwkws with full boost at 3600rpms) Performance level is very dependent on setups, same as every other turbos, I found HG's final results are far more concentrated, each and every model performs extremely unique in their own way. They are the most convenient internally gated turbos for a Rb25 turbo engines. The Kandos are also making some good results, but getting there is far more involving. For a road car stick to the HG units.
  17. mmmm doesn't looks like a joke any more. electric turbos might soon be reality. what happened to that big billet supercharger you've working on stao?
  18. Hi Guys. I'm looking to buy a 96 model GTR that has been modified with a Queensland rego and engineering certificate for all the modifications. How ever I'm based in Victoria, could the Queensland engineering certificate be used in Victoria to have the car registered on Victorian roads? Any one's done this before? Valuable feed backs would be appropriated. Thanks guys
  19. My SS2 made 290rwkws on 18psi and 307rwkws on 21psi, full boost around 3600rpms. very responsive and linear on road. Price for a CNC billet turbo custom made for OEM bolton internally gated at given level of performance it is pretty cheap. if you want a bolton turbo that makes the power then that is probably the best turbo to go for. Other wise there are plenty of options available for ext gated high mount setups, check the dynosection for their references.
  20. mods:S1 rb25det 116,000km, z32 afm, Hypergear SS2 turbo, 650cc injectors, cooler, exhaust, hard intake pipe. fuel: BP Pump 98 power:307kw 19psi oil:Motul Turbo light useage: Daily lifespan:about a year, still going strong. failure: coil packes burnt, changed over to split fires, no problems. comments: Excellent on road and fast daily.
  21. except 3071 pumps out way much more mid range, which this one's making GT50's mid range with a 3071's top end.
  22. The power to rpm ratio is wores then my 3540 mokup (hypergear atr45) while 160kws short. Looks very lazy and not making much power either. Not a very good turbo.
