How Do 550cc Injectors Make 300rwkw On An Rb25det?
mattymagoo22 replied to Harey's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Forget about manifold pressure, i'm referring to the actual pressure that you'll see with a gauge inline. Max fuel pressure is approx 40psi or so, the pumps don't pump it any harder than that I thought, maybe I need to read up on rising rate regs, even with the return line clamped you'll see 40 psi max so how can extra pressure be available (someone explain) ??? All that little vacuum line does for a FPR is lift a valve of its seat no extra pressure is pumped into the system its just a sealed diaphragm. Yeah because as soon as you hit 81% duty cycle your engine automatically explodes!!!! Do you even know what duty cycle is? You need to put away your fast fours mag and get your hands dirty, my r33 gts-t ran 96% duty cycle for over a year without a problem you going to tell me i'm wrong? And for the record when the FPR has vacuum applied to it the line pressure will be around (from memory) 25-30 psi because the diaphragm lifts the seat and allows fuel back to the tank via a return line so even though the pump is at 40psi the line pressure is much lower than that. Under WOT or boost conditions the FPR is closed bringing line pressure up to 40psi the boost you run on top of that does not change that figure. The boost you run doesn't increase the pressure in the line it just closes it off to lift pressure. -
Non Skyline Injector Problem (nissan Patrol)
mattymagoo22 replied to Bond's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
There should be battery voltage (12-14v) at one of the injector pins, the other is earthed by the ecu which completes the circuit and operates the injector. If you don't have 12-14volts at one of the injector pins could be wiring problem/bad connection/blown fuse/ corroded connector.... etc. If you get 12 volts at one pin then there is a problem with the wiring to the computer (the wire could be open circuited) if you have a wiring diagram you ca ncut the wire about an inch from either plug and solder in a new wire to fix it. hope this helps -
any decent parts shop should be able to match them.

How Do 550cc Injectors Make 300rwkw On An Rb25det?
mattymagoo22 replied to Harey's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Even if duty cycle is at 99% it still has time to turn off and on again so there shouldn't be a problem(correct me if you think i'm wrong) more than that its time for an upgrade, FPR's are band-aids in my opinion. People getting 300rwkw out of standard injectors though, then blowing them up after 500 ks of driving makes me laugh! Just like saying you had sex with Miranda Kerr, only you blew after you put it in! You're going to leave that out of the story when you tell your friends huh! How do you guys figure that 38psi of fuel pressure + 20psi boost = 58psi total fuel pressure? Your turbo doesn't pressurise your fuel lines. In most cases the max fuel pressure is 40psi thats with the reg at atmospheric pressure. -
How To Replace Clutch Fork Boot
mattymagoo22 replied to 08r3308's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The boot has little to do with a squeaking clutch fork. To fix the squeak usually box out, clean up the clutch dust re-grease gear-box snout, fork pivots and splines and re-install. -
I have seen oil filters cause an engine to sieze. On a mitsubishi pajero 3.5L quad cam if you use the wrong oil filter it doesn't feed oil pressure to one of the heads. Start up oil pressure is very important, with no oil pressure there is metal on metal contact. If an engine is in bad condition (infrequent oil changes/ low oil level) before the filter is changed problems come up. I have seen at least 30 or so engines some with 3000ks on them so with 60000ks on them not having an oil change or running without enough oil in them to cause a small amount of bearing damage. The filter gets changed and even with the filter primed with oil the car comes back on a tilt tray with a spun bearing in under a 1000ks. The small amount of time that an engine has no oil pressure can be the difference between an engine that runs and an engine thats in need of a re-build. I change my oil when it loses the golden tinge and becomes black, not brown but black. Its usually about 8000ks on my wifes car. Changing your oil every 2000ks and you are wasting $$$$$. my 2 cents worth aye!

1995 Honda Cbr900rr Fireblade
mattymagoo22 replied to mattymagoo22's topic in For Sale (Other Items)
PRICE DROP! $4799. -
The guys driving in front pulled him up they said they were betting on how long it would take to drop as it was swinging back and forth.... He lost all his tools from a hole in his back pack with which he most likely could have re-attached it somehow. The cop said he should have stopped at a servo and put it back on. I guess he was in the wrong but man have a heart not like he was going to ram raid or anything!
-
Yeah your probably right. He was driving a ute not an import though and I am pretty sure he has a clean record, he really isn't a trouble maker. Yeah I think I'm most annoyed that he set him up to get away with it then slaps him down at the last minute. No power trip just topping up his figures for the week! Thanks for the discretion I guess. Cheers Matt.

Mate just got back from trail bike riding out at Lithgow with a $340 fine and 3 demerit points. Driving down a dirt road and his front number plate fell off. No screws to hold it on so he just put it inside the ute. Cop pulls him over he explained what had happened was breath tested all ok. He then asked for his license so he could run a check before he was on his way. Comes back with the fine!!!!! He was respectful and polite to the officer but the sneaky so and so was not at all reasonable, didn't even tell him that he was going to fine him just came back with it. Very low act in my opinion!

Injector Bush - Emergency Callout - Wollongong
mattymagoo22 replied to 2rismo's topic in New South Wales
I have a used injector base seal, I'm assuming thats what you're after the big rubber o-ring that sits in the intake manifold. I'm in sydney though. -
Actually the speedo only needs to be accurate within 10% to 40 km/h to meet ADR's. Above 40km/h and its what the manufacturer specifies. .You used to get 4 points on your red p's now you get 3, so to be disqualified you need 4 points, on the old system that meant 5 points to be disqualified from driving.
-
My sister got done and was going to lose her license I think she took it to court because that would delay it enough that she'd get some points back so you may be right now that you're on your greens. And if you have 4 demerits I thought you could still drive until you got booked again i.e you really have to lose 5 points to be disqualified?
-
I love it when people get road rage and shout and scream at you, what I like to do is apologise if I'm in the wrong, or if i'm not I give them the finger while I look straight ahead paying no attention to them. They get so angry when you don't pay attention to them and its hilarious to see them doing their nut in your peripheral vision!!!!!!!

All gases will expand and contract with a change in temperature. Nitrogen is used because it is considered to have no moisture (water) in it, keeping a more consistent pressure, so its expansion with warm tyres is less than that of a tyre filled with normal compressed air.

Sau Lend Me Your Ears! Rb25 Noise
mattymagoo22 replied to gotRICE?'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Its a nice idea but does sort of sound like jumping in at the deep end. In my experience by the time you hear a big end its too late for the crank as the big end bearing journals are already scuffed and the rod in some instances can be damaged too. If it was a datto 200B or a KE70 corolla you could try a bit of wet and dry on the journal and slap it back up together with oversized bearing shells and it would probably be right as rain. I recently saw brand new short motors from a well know and loved manufacturer that had not even been started and when pulled down and inspected the big end shells and crank journals were already marked hence the shells being replaced with a new item containing lead as they were trying to get away from using it. Sad really Lead and Asbestos 2 great gifts to the automotive world that caused some many more problems then we knew. Cheers. -
Alright go and get your 2-stroke car and i'll race you....... what no 2-stroke car? I win. POw

Sau Lend Me Your Ears! Rb25 Noise
mattymagoo22 replied to gotRICE?'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
When I replaced the timing belt on my car it had a noise very similar to that, it was an after-market item I replaced it with. I got a genuine belt and did the job over and the noise was gone. Its too hard to say without being at the car exactly what it is. Cheers. -
You must be an engineer, you seem to know a lot of theory, but when it comes to real practical experience you know bugger all! If what you say is true about two strokes that means that 2 engines of similar size one a 2- joke (i made a funny ha ha ha) the other a four- Stroke, the output of the 2 should be twice that of the 4. Sad thing is its not. So that means your ghey.
