  1. That takes skill.
  2. OP and Raz, have you made sure your breather hoses are hooked up right? I bought my car with a VERY similar problem and the guy thought it was fkd, rerouted a few hoses and all was sweet.. something to check out anyway
  3. I accidently did this, then noticed my catch can had filled up and I freaked out thinking my nice new engine had just developed a shitload of blowby it basically spat all the extra oil into the catchcan at high revs and then stopped doing it.
  4. Look in the Drivetrain and Transmission forum, been covered extensively but the short of it is, the R33 sender is on the other side of the shaft (so gear is cut the opposite way, explaining why it has smashed your R32 sender). You need to get a Navara sender and either graft a 33 cog on there (so the ratio stays similar) or live with the speedo being out a bit. I just used the Navara sender and cog (17T) as with my different final drive gears the speedo only reads 10kmh high which isn't a bad thing
  5. You'd be looking at at least that price for just the gearbox (at least here in WA they are more like $1500).
  6. From what I discovered when I was searching for gears it kind of works by 'era'... for instance S13 gears bolt straight up to my R32 centre (or rather the Nismo R32 centre I bought), R33's have larger diameter crown wheel bolts but can be made to work (I believe you can even get bolts designed specifically for this) and I think R34's are different again but can't remember in what way). In your defence BB, he didn't actually specific GTR/nonGTR so I'll let you off
  7. Furry muff.. is there a better way to measure clearances with everything torque'd down? Oh and when I decide to take my RB30 passed 400rwhp I reckon I'll get one of your cranks to go with the new rods.. 3.4L FTW
  8. Pretty damn sure 32 gtst is 4.3:1.. I went down to 3.9:1 (out of an auto S13) because 4.3 was a bit harsh with the 3L. Dropped about 500rpm in 5th @ 100kmh..
  9. ^^ Erno, I had that issue with my 30 and had to remove the strut brace, but a 25 should fit easily, seen it done.
  10. I killed one with my RB20 then another one a couple of months after the RB30 went in.. 183rwkw, lots of torque and 2nd gear clutch drops did it
  11. +2 to doing it yourself, if you've got a mate with a workshop then even better Have you thought of handling and braking upgrades? I did the basics (car already came with a cooler and coilovers) like boost, exhaust fuel pump etc and then put swaybars and adjustable bushes in aswell as bigger brakes and braided lines. Also put a 2way diff in THEN got serious about the engine..
  12. Read the RB25 box into 32 gtst thread. You need to modify the bracket to suit. In short (and I among others did a little write-up of how we did it) I use 2 pieces of flat bar, marked and drilled, bolt it all up and tac welded the flatbar to the bracket, then removed and welded properly.
  13. Unfortunately I don't have the option of using my factory plenum, pipework will just not fit with a high mounted GT35R on my RB30. I will take everything on board here (and my tuner has problem got a fair idea of what he needs to do) and hopefully get a nice even tune across all cyl's.
  14. Do you have any tuning advise for a gtr plenum then? (I will be using a single throttle body if that makes any difference) P.S. I've seen Brads' car in person and damn it's angry!
  15. Yeah I know, I just read that.. I hadn't been able to figure it out till now. My guess is the lack of a specific G25 menu in the wheel setups threw me
  16. OK so you CAN get the clutch to work in GT5? just by pressing the triangle button in game? P.S. piss off kaniva you pessimistic dipshit.
  17. GT5 doesnt seem to support the G25 yet and the clutch doesn't appear to work. The only options you have are generic, there is support for nearly every other Logitech wheel though
  18. ^^ Brad, you using standard gtr plenum setup?
  19. Funky plasticine string stuff that you put in where you want to measure, torque the item down then remove and gauge the thickness that the string has spread to..
  20. You can get complete RB30's for like $100. I suggest checking out the RB30 conversion section at the top of this forum.
  21. I <3 my Nismo GT Pro 2way. Noisy, clunky, tight, it's great - does exactly what I want it to do when I want to do it.
  22. My mate has one on his 25DET/30, engine isn't in yet but it bolts up fine.
  23. How would you suggest modifying the rear two runners? port them out slightly? try to increase some volume in the plenum behind them? (I did notice that the last runner looks almost like an afterthought..)
  24. So much headache that I'm making a custom setup as it's easier.
