  1. I think a whole set of new splitfires is a reasonable price considering what a set of new OEM coils would cost, I certainly didn't balk at getting splitfires.
  2. Yeah the one with 34 rims is me, have had a bit of a play with the other black 32 down the road before. I hear plenty of rice around my area, it's great!
  3. Hah deal! I live on Pearson St btw and am quite partial to nice sounds ripping past my house too
  4. Gotta love dealing justice to fools in their turbo'd fwd's. I mean seriously, what's the point? I love doing it in the right hand lane, particularly if their window is down.. just they wait till I've got gate!
  5. They claim 30% I think, it was definately noticable.
  6. hp or kw? nah it was a sedan, saw it up at barbagello many moons ago. 1UZFE then, as strong as a 2JZ in stock form.
  7. Hmmm cool. Going to 3.9 was great for drivability but it just doesn't have the neck snapping acceleration that it did with the 4.3's (obviously). A lot easier to drive though, oh and I thoroughly recommend a 3L + button clutch + 2way
  8. I've seen a 25 in a VS and a 2JZ in a VN/VG ute. Both were alright but I heard the VS was a big of a slug, fairly stock, while the 2JZ was rather extensively worked. Personally, if I was to buy a VIP cruiser type vehicle that could still tow stuff, I would get a Celsior/LS400 and order a blower kit from the states. Small capacity turbo 6 would suck for towing IMO, blown v8 FTW! Not to mention that there is some serious engineering to be done when transplanting engines, especially from different manufacturers. What about a gen3 CrossX8 thing? dump it on its' ass, big rims, turbo kit..
  9. Indeed, we don't have an abundance of time either and he doesn't want my car sitting around his workshop for months on end so when we need to do something we plan it out and do it in a day or a weekend. When we first installed the 30 we did it in a weekend, that was old engine out, new engine built, ancillaries from 20 swapped over, few slight modifications made to bracketry etc, new engine installed. Drove it home. Should have put a new crank in to start with as we later had to effectively rebuild the bottom end but even that was done in a day. Engine out, pull bottom end apart, flush engine to remove all the little bits of thrust washer that had disintegrated everywhere, check everything else and make sure it was alright, new bearings and crank in, reassemble, reinstall. Not paying for labour is great
  10. No they don't, R32's have an R200 and an IRS setup, aust. delivered 31's are a solid axle setup. Don't know if the diffs are BorgWarner based but I doubt it..
  11. I got my Nismo 2way from Nengun, pretty damn sure they sell them for 33's aswell. Bit cheaper than buying it locally but I had to wait a while..
  12. C's shifter on my 20 box in my 32 with one of those aluminium Nismo knobs is fine, turned out to be roughly the same height as the old stocko shifter w/ shit knob that the last guy who had the car cut an inch or so off the top of the shifter.
  13. Yeah sorry, forgot to mention not paying for labour. Have a very good mechanic friend who owns his own workshop so I have access to 4x hoists, any tool I need and his helpful advise/small hands to fit into tight places There should still be room for the setup to push more but that is the next level of development.. before I go that far the engine will come out to get some decent rods put in and have everything balanced, aswell as some head/manifold porting work.
  14. I'll probably head down in a couple of weeks to benchmark the 30+small turbo before my baby comes off the road for the GT35R install I'd be hoping for a low 13! but who knows.. will be interesting to see what the 30 does with the 3.9 ratios.. Makes 245rwhp @ ~4600rpm on 12psi (full boost by 2200rpm).. anyone like to take a guess on what it might do down the 1/4?
  15. Wasn't me was it? I can't help fluttering.. due to the small turbo and tight bov, even casual driving causes flutters, only way I can make the bov sound normal is by driving hard! I hate it but I'm used to it now, not quite as annoying as it was originally.
  16. With my N1 pump I see 100psi on cold start, once at normal operating temperature I get 12-15psi at idle (sometimes only 20psi if it's a really cold day), pressure climbs quite rapidly with revs, 40psi at just over 2000rpm, 60psi about 3000rpm and up to 80psi by redline. P.S. After seeing the problems with a couple of different B&M shifters that mates have had recently, I wouldn't trust B&M as far as I could throw one of their dodgy mexican workers!
  17. My 300rwkw setup will total about 6-7k when complete.. RB25/30 (NA head), forged pistons, N1 oil pump, machined crank, stock rods, stock cams, GT35R, high mount manifold, tial 44mm gate, 550cc injectors, z32 afm. Got everything so far (engine is running on the 550cc injectors and z32) just need to get the exhaust manifold and waiting on the RIPS plenum
  18. Pulp, was it a new silver one?
  19. RB20 turbo on my RB20 loved 14psi, never had it dyno'd. RB25 turbo on my RB20, made 183rwkw on 12psi (untuned but with usual supporting mods - fmic, exhaust, 044 etc). RB25 turbo on my RB30 makes the same power as it did on the 20 at the same boost but a lot sooner
  20. Bit before my time but I have heard many stories
  21. ROFL @ maccas trays! When I used to live in scarborough years ago (before they closed off half of that street that goes up the hill at the end of the carparks), someone in a Swift dumped 20L of oil at the bottom of that hill and ALL night idiots were lighting it up up the hill, got to the point where the cops came out and sat on the median strip with the lights going all night.. highly annoying as it was RIGHT OUTSIDE OUR BLOODY APARTMENT!
  22. I've seen the results of a green lemon attempted to be fired through a spudgun running an all too perfect mixture of Autostart and air.. blew the backing plate off and nearly took my hand with it!!
  23. Currently running a standard s1 33 turbo at 12psi while I collect the rest of the bits to put the GT35R on Haven't had it down the quarter yet as I've been ironing conversion wrinkles out she's only making 183rwkw with the little turbo anyway.. nothing really special
  24. People tend to go splitfires as you can get a whole set of brand new coils for the less than the price of two new OEM coils..
  25. Trevs. Who needs help smoking it up? lol!
