  1. Standard RB20 turbos have a nipple on the compressor housing which the wastegate actuator is connected to.. my guess is that the actuator rod should not have any play in it as this would let the wastegate move uncontrolled. You say that you're not that worried about it now as it is running 12psi.. does that mean it is controlling boost now? My understanding of the turbosmart controllers is that they are a bleed valve, meaning they bleed air off requiring more pressure to open the wastegate than is normally needed. Tried winding it in at all? that should reduce boost.
  2. I had a turbotech ball valve one installed (no hole ) was noticing some lag on changes. I have just installed a Greddy Profec B SpecII and it's a world of difference! being able to keep the wastegate shut till almost full boost makes a hell of a difference!
  3. I have the same deal (the cold start, have to blip the throttle once to keep it running) and the the hestitation. Mine does it at 2k if I don't let it warm all the way up (which can take like 10mins if not driving!). I figure at 2k it's just limp mode because it's still cold. I let it idle for minimum of 30 seconds before taking off and just take it easy and shift below 2k until my temp guage is at halfway then it's all fine. Usually she gets enough to as it takes me to smoke a cigarette in the morning to warmup, which barely moves the needle, then I start driving her. P.S. This is on an RB20DET
  4. Not wanting to get involved in the shitfight here, I would just like to know where Lumpy went? and can Hyperdrive still remap R32 ecu's?
  5. My 2 cents is that you dont need teh Greddy plenum. My mates RB30DETT is pushing 490rwhp through a standard RB25 intake manifold (that's about the max it will handle though, we're pretty sure it's a restriction now). That's $1500 saved there
  6. *blush* They are super long games with respawns, I'm not sure of the actual format but it is a scenario style day. So storylines with objectives etc
  7. Yes there will numbers, hoping for 100+ on the day! tell your friends, your enemies and even people you just feel like shooting! get your rego forms in! (those prices only apply if you register beforehand )
  8. I installed one of these on the weekend. The hoses going to the solenoid should be as short as possible as they control the wastegate. As my install was on a stock RB20 I had a nice nipple on the compressor housing to connect to. I then ran the control wires for the solenoid across the firewall and in through the drivers guard along with the pressure hose from the fuel reg/plenum.
  9. As topic and description suggests. Cheers
  10. Yeah saw your post on Bills before so you don't have any air tank at all? I'm pretty damn sure fluffa told me previously that had a HPA compressor, I run my A5 on HPA but have a spare co2 tank as a backup (not that I'd ever want to go back to co2 heh). If you don't have a tank at all, PM tex or fluffa on Bills or ring WASP and see if they can hire you a tank for the day for a nominal price
  11. Man that RANDY guy is smoking some good crack. Disregard everything he said. But yes, get an RB25 turbo. Will take a bit longer to spool up but they flow more for a given pressure (ie. 12psi on an rb20 turbo and 12psi on an rb25 turbo, the 25 turbo will be flowing more air). Also get a good ebc.. I put one in on the weekend and while still running stock boost (~10psi) until I can get a tune, I have it set to keep the wastegate shut until 9psi, spools much faster and feels a bit quicker
  12. I think that's an urban myth.
  13. The engine will be as strong as the parts you can afford to put in it.. I think all the RB block are much of a muchness except when it comes to N1 blocks.. P.S. I know of an RB30DETT for sale in Perth if you're interested
  14. Shortshifter
  15. A better way to do it is by speed, I think Greddy make a speed thing to plug into their ebc. You can then set it to switch to a higher boost setting at say.. 100kmh when you're well and truly off the line. I prefer to just use my right foot
  16. I have a SARD R2D2 bov for sale, came off my RB20 but it didn't bolt where there standard bov did. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=156767 I can even supply a plate to blank off the standard bov
  17. Put me down for an R32 (gts-t).
  18. There is a control unit in the boot (under the parcel shelf) for the HICAS, is this still plugged in? I think if it's not you get heavy steering all the time, also if you lose the signal from the speedo it will get heavy. I think what you've done is bypass the the control unit and feed a constant 12v to the rack all the time, it's obviously not going to vary itself.
  19. Gotta make sure it clicks down And losing a few balls here and there is nothing when you've got 2000rds to play with! Basically, if you're hiring gear you will only be paying $25 more than those of us with our own gear.. I think the prices breakdown as follows (they're on the rego form anyway): Those with own gear - $120 includes field fee and case of 2000rds Those without own gear - $145 includes field fee, case of 2000rds, hire marker and goggles. Do the maths on whatever you were paying for paint when you went out Not to mention that it should be an awesome day, the more people that attend the better it will get!
  20. OK, for all those people into paintball, or who would like to be, there is a Scenario Day being organised for the weekend before Anzac Day (was supposed to be ON Anzac Day but too many people have to attend dawn services etc). Date: 21st April, 2007 Location: WASP Clackline (near Northam) The day requires registration and payment beforehand to guarantee numbers. You do not need to have your own gear as there will be hire gear available. It is also a lot cheaper than your average day out paintballing. Included in the price is a box of paint (2000rds) as opposed to buying by the 100s for your average punter. All information and the rego form can be found at Bills Paintball. I am just trying to spread the word to make this the biggest scenario game that WA has seen. There are two games planned for the day, the first, in the spirit of Anzac Day is to be a frontal assault against a team well emplaced at the top of a hill. The second game planned will encompass all 9 of WASP Clacklines fields, which should make for a very fun and interesting day! If you need anymore info, PM me or call WASP Oh and to give you an idea of what you're in for.. here's a pic of my marker
  21. ehh RS232 works fine, we used to use it for the ECU's we built at my old work
  22. I just bought a cable from plmsdevelopments, you can't use it to adjust anything that I know of. At the moment I'm using the free ECUTalk software but I'm going to buy the software that plmsdevelopments made. I bought it mainly for checking error codes easily, monitoring and logging. The software from plmsdevelopments has full replay of logs that you can fast forward through, graphing etc, as opposed to text file I have to sift through They also say that if you can find some key information about your ecu (addresses of certain files or something, I'm pretty sure I've seen lists of this stuff on SAU somewhere) that it will do maptracing. I plan on getting my RB20 ecu remapped so the cable/software will come in handy then too Edit: hmm maybe DataScan can adjust certain things but it would only be for that session. Oh and ROFL at that eBay store.. US and Canada only.. get it from Aus dude, cheaper and easier
  23. Added pics to WA thread.
