  1. Um, not too sure what you mean by getting in on the ground level. Do you have any heavy vehicle experience or licenses? Because even the real grunt work such as a drillers offsider (heavy, slightly dangerous and very physical work in some pretty god awful locations that pays really well) would require a HR as a minimum. Your best bet would be to talk to a few of the larger HR companies that do short and medium term contract staff for most of the big mining companies such as Rio Tinto and BHP. Try any of the labour hire firms listed here http://www.apesma.asn.au/newsviews/profess..._hire_firms.htm and have a chat to any of them. I do know that both Monadelphous and Intergrated will be able to help with mining specific stuff. Sorry, no insider help tho
  2. every time an RB25 drops a ring land, baby jeezus cry's..... Baby jeezuz spends a fair bit of time crying usually. What caused the meltdown anyway? What sort of boost? There is a bloke on here somewhere that is keeping a thread running about engine failures, make sure you do a search and have a read.
  3. *runs outside to hug NA Pulsar fury*
  4. .......cant ...post...........fapping........ WD man.
  5. LOL just be aware that there are a couple of skyline owners (and a 350Z owner) that are too paranoid to brake near a cop car, using those Hawk pads, as they increase brake noise a LOT.
  6. No. Ended last production run mid last year. I like ur line of thinking tho.....
  7. dude - considering you got your licence a lot more recently than me, you should remember that the Drivesafe book states in section 3.14.4 Turning at a multi-lane intersection When turning at a multi-lane intersection: move into the correct lane early, do not change lanes at the last moment; do not cross unbroken lane lines (unless you are driving a vehicle 7.5 metres long or longer and you cannot turn from within a single lane); http://www.dpi.wa.gov.au/mediaFiles/lic_drivesafebook_part3.pdf cut and past that into your browser and look at page 30 Also, acording to the Road Traffic Act (2000) Part 4 Devision 1 Sub section 21 21. Left turns (multiple lanes) (1) A driver turning left at an intersection or a roundabout from a multi-lane carriageway shall approach and enter the intersection or roundabout from within the left lane unless : (a) the driver is required or permitted to approach and enter the intersection from within another marked lane under regulation 69, 73, or 137; (b) the driver is turning, at B lights or traffic arrows, in accordance with Part 17; or © subregulation (2) applies to the driver. Points: 2 Modified penalty: 2 PU as seen here http://www.slp.wa.gov.au/statutes/regs.nsf/c730e0b0cac4b4f8c82573ed001ddf4f/258e655840480e5748256f180026181a?OpenDocument
  8. that scum sucking, son of a motherless sh1tbag!!!!! *fights rage* *loses battle* Jezus H Kerist on a tricycle, what the hell was wrong with stopping? Its pretty obvious by his taking off that he knows he is gonna wear that, as it is illegal to turn left into a right hand lane on a dual carraigeway. I hope he gets the rough end of a pineapple from the taxi company. Any chance of sharing his taxi number? (I got cleaned up on my pushbike by a taxi once, and he did the same thing, but no one got his number and I ended up with a destroyed $1500 bike and 3 weeks off work...)
  9. The latest in the fail boat saga...
  10. no wai!! there has only been one for sale in the last 5 years that I know off, and it was on j-spec, and then it was taken off (the owner got cold feet apparently) and then it went back on and was sold. For a 30+ year old car that was a complete failure, and only 800 or so were actually made, they are worth some pretty serious money now... (at least as a collectable, you wouldn't be tempted to drive it and lower the value ) *edit - although the temptation to drop in a TT bridgeport WOULD be kinda tempting. Can you imagine pulling up to teh lights and getting some gate?
  11. In all my time posting and reading on this forum, never has a more truer word been spoken. \end thread.
  12. The single click you are hearing is the starter relay. What you need to do first off is determine why it won't turn over. When the water pump "blew" did it spray water everywhere? Even a small amount will cause problems with your relays. I have absolutely no "hands on" experience with skylines in this regard (ex stagea owner ) but I would grab a test light or multimeter, a mate to turn the key on and off, and start chasing the wires from the starter motor backwards to the battery, or try another starter if you can. Also, try getting your mate to bump the key a few times while you smack the casing with a hammer handle - if it is just poling causing the issue this wil l at least alow it to spin freely for a bit, and then you will know that its time to get your starter rebushed or replaced.
  13. A saturday would be better for me too. Oh, and better make it just beer (with plenty of food) I dunno about you guys, but I didn't think half smashed would be the best way to attempt this. 2nd weekend in June maybe?
  14. go here for all you could ever want to know about the horrible thing (plus photos of the engine bay) http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/car_i...a_roadpacer.htm
  15. What he is saying, is when you put new pads on, and this is even more important with new rotors and new pads, is you need to avoid all heavy braking when the pads are new (say, the first 500kms) This can cause the rotors ro warp. Another thing you need to avoid, is sitting at traffic lights (or wherever) with your foot hard on the brakes as this will do the same thing. OK, now to diagnose the problem. With the wheel off, give the brake disc a good hard shake by hand. Can you feel/hear any clunking or knocking? This would indicate something is loose - such as a wheel bearing or disc mount. If you can't hear or feel anything, you need to mount a dial indicator up and check the runout on the disc. This will tell you weather or not you have a warped rotor. If you don't get any joy from either of these 2 tests then it is time to look VERY closely at your caliper mounts. Can anyone else add to this?
  16. Just like the T-shirt says "Rotary drivers do it with less torque and more noise"
  17. *WILTS*
  18. Well, if you do decide to organise it, you can count me in to get in there and swing some spanners. *EDIT* Um, just one thing to consider though - 100K service usually includes most, if not all, fluids being dumped so maybe a public carpark wouldn't be the best place to do this?
  19. OMFG!! Its true!! from here - http://mrec.rotary.net.nz/articles/roadpacer.htm
  20. does it have any centurions in it? If not, I can feel myself rapidly losing interest.
  21. In Japan they were actually released with a NA RB20 So, the next time you are moaning about the power/fuel consumption of your stock stagea, remember that there is ALWAYS someone worse off than you
  22. Just an idea - one of the guys had the service done on his S2 stagea by throwing a BBQ and getting all the parts, if you can find enough (knowledgable) people to dig in, it is easily done on a sunday afternoon with a couple of mates. There is no rocket science to it, and if you follow any of the step by step guides on here its pretty hard to stuff up.
  23. *waves hands madly* yes please! If its open to Teh Fury then count me in!
  24. I had A great time! Claire is still a bit cut that she didn't get the blow off valve, but I am sure she will get over it Thanks heaps to Lucy and Matt for the ultra reliable map and everyone else for putting up with Teh Fury tagging along.
